The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I'm a fan of HergÈ's TINTIN.
Gotta love Captain Haddock!
I am also a fan of TINTIN.

Count me in to on that one :yes
Hundertausende jaulend und heulende Hˆllenhunde! (Haddock's most favorite utterance in the German version of Tintin (where he is called Tim)).

Rereading some Tintin I found that in some cases Herge has been a bit stereotyping and (in case of Tintin in Kongo) rather uncritical about colonialism. But most of the stories are plain awesome.

I used to like Tintin myself, but had to rethink at least some of it when I learned of its racist connotations... at least, some of the books are racist... although the author later apologized for it...

I am photosensitive and strong contrast can hurt my eyes.

Strobe lights make me feel like I'm about to have a seizure, although I don't have a seizure disorder.

I tend to become unbearably irritated by repeated intermittent noises, such as snoring (even light snoring), dripping faucets, beeping alarm clocks, ringing telephones, and chirping crickets.

Pronounced "pan-JEE-uh". Spelled with three A's. Represented by a Lystrosaurus.

High-pitched noises hurt my ears.  I get tinnitus (ringing in the ears) from being near a running blowdryer .  I use earplugs when I use lawn equipment; otherwise, I'm pretty much deaf for a little while after using a lawnmower.

I absolutely hate high pitched sounds. That infamous "Teen Buzz" ringtone (15 kHZ of pain).

I hate certain insects... bees, wasps, roaches. I don't mind ants, ladybugs, flies, fireflies, or ladybugs... I really don't like dragonflies, though... they remind me too much of hornets... and yes, I was stung by a wasp when I was young...

I love dragonflies. :p Not only do they prey on mosquitoes (which are so common here in Minnesota that they’ve been jokingly called the unofficial state bird), they don’t sting or bite, and they’re darned fascinating insects.

I think dragonflies look cool.

I'm quite fascinated by dragonflies. I wonder why this rather effective four independent wing design was with the exception of dragonflies largely abandoned throughout the course of evolution.

On average, I replace my non-formal pair of shoes every 2 years.

Nope. It works as the title says. Anything between Earth and Heaven.  ;)
Well, almost.

LOL

I like all insects. I like snakes, who eat the insects. I like the birds that eat the snakes. I like the bears that eat the birds. ... (nothing can eat a bear)
