The truck driver simply ignored the machine gun fire as the heavily armored truck could stand up to repeated 23 mm autocannon fire.

3 more armored SUVs joined the remaining one. 3 of the 4 SUVs opened their hatches and a soldier bearing an RPG fired. All of them aimed at the nearest tank: Dervus's The 4th one revealed a gatling gun which stitched Rivende's tank.

The driver and gunner of the SUV in the ditch climbed out of the wrecked vehicle. The gunner fired an RPG at Marner's tank before climbing back into the ditch for cover.

Dr. Branston cursed as gunfire erupted around the lab. He blasted a siren throughout the lab. "All personnel, prepare for battle stations!"

Several of the scientists got out from their bunks and headed to the armory near the bathrooms.

At the same time, the autocannon on the lab targeted one of the tanks and fired at it.

(OOC: I have a good idea for the SUV that will escape, when I disable it don't touch it and let me handle the getting away of the Dragonstorm backup disks.)

"Sweet mother these guys just don't give up do they... it's like they're animals," Marner remarked over the radio, without realizing the irony in the statement.

The RPG from the ditch bounced off the front armour of Marner's Tank and reflected up into the gun burrel, ripping off the 'long tom' in a spectacular explosion of gunpowder and raw steel.

The gunner in the SUV with the gatling gun noticed Lt. Carl and his crew emerging and swiftly gunned them down through the haze of smoke. His screams reached Rivende through the comms, and so the colonel had to tune out the channel to cut it off.

"Those [censored]ing bastards, I'm gonna rip them a new [censored]hole!" cried Dervus over the radio and a moment later his gunner fired the cannon point blank at a passing SUV, the shell passing through the rear windows and screaming out the otherside to explode in the sand. The suction of the shell passing through the car caused the driver to lose control, and the SUV rolled over half a dozen times in a shower of glass.

Rivende ducked back into the hole cursing and swearing as the truck bearing Lab 101 screamed by unscathed his machinegun fire. The tank shook villianously as his own gunner opened fire, erasing another SUV from existance at point blank.

One of the remaining two SUVs swerved and smashed directly into the front of Dervus' Tank, throwing off his gunner's aim momentarily causing the cannon shot to miss.

"Lain, Unbel take down that truck!" screamed Rivende into the radio. Unsurprisingly only Lt. Lain responded.

"Yes sir commencing engagement,"

Lain's tank was not equiped with a standard 90mm cannon but with a smaller 40mm autocannon. His gunner opened fire on the truck as the roof gun fired back, rocking the tank from side to side with the impact. The cannon shells did absolutely nothing, and the truck moved right on past him.

Unbel's tank had a broken gun, so there was no way he could help. The rookie tank commander watched helplessly as Lab 101 drove right by.

Seeing he was cornered, the SUV with the Gatling Gun came to a stop on the dirty ground, and flashed his lights in submission.

"Sir, I think that one's giving up." stated the gunner in Rivende's Tank.

"All units hold your fire, this one's over." Rivende stated over the radio.

(OOC: At this point there are the Dragonstorm in the ditch, the surrendered vehicle, and the vehicle that smashed into Dervus' Tank still alive. Rivende's crews will now attempt to take prisoners - please don't touch the surrendered SUV I have an interesting scene planned for the Dragonstorm Backup Disks)

The SUV that rammed Dervus's tank quickly reversed as the hatch opened and a Pigeon fired his RPG at the tank.

The engine on the SUV then died forcing the driver and gunner to bail. They jumped into a nearby ditch. There, the gunner of the other wrecked SUV fired his last rocket at Col. Rivende's tank.

"Got any more rockets?" the Cheetah driver shouted over the weapons fire.

The gunner, a wiry Human, gestured towards the wrecked SUV.

"This is [censored] insane!" the Cheetah said, opening the SUV's door and scrambling in to retrieve the last case of rockets.

Dr. Branston continued ordering the roof autocannon to fire at the tanks as the truck drove off.

"Damage assessment." Dr. Branston ordered.

"Well, it looks like the enemy's cannon ripped some holes in the top part of the lab but the only damage it did was tear through some wires that power the lights. Basically, no lights in the kitchen or the bathrooms." the technician replied.

One of the scientists grabbed Dr. Shelton and shook him. "Damn it Storke! Are you [censored] deaf!? Dr. Branston's going to rip you a new [censored]hole if he finds out that you've been ignoring his order!"

Dr. Kerzach went to the bathroom, which now had no lights, and splashed cold water on his face to wake himself up.

"At least we'll be rescued. Oh [censored]! No we won't?!" Dr. Kerzach muttered to himself as he was washing his face.

"[censored]!" Dr. Kerzach shouted, accidentally bumping his shin on the toilet on his way out.

The armed scientists, mostly carrying small arms rushed to every room, including the kitchen. It

A Bull scientist, carrying an anti tank missile system headed to the back of the lab where there was an armored shutter covering what seemed to be a window.

"All personnel are at battle stations." the technician replied.

"Good." Dr. Branston said. He then triggered the PA system. "Gunports will now be unlocked, fire at will."

The Bull slammed a red button beneath him and the shutter slid back, revealing the tanks chasing the lab. The Rhino locked onto one of the tanks, fired and closed the shutter to reload

Luckily for him and the personnel behind him, the rocket system he had was Pelvanida's FGM-172 PICADOR anti-tank rocket and the only thing ejected from the rear of the launcher was a mass of shredded plastic.

The scientist unhooked the spent launch tube, threw it aside and snapped on a fresh launch tube.

Two more scientists, a large man and an Elephant, took positions behind two other armored shutters. They were armed with the same weapon as the Bull.

(OOC - The scientist's weapon is a fictional hybrid of the MATADOR anti armor rocket and the FGM-148 Javelin anti tank missile. It uses the MATADOR's countermass system to have no backblast and uses the Javelin's reusable command launch unit. Each rocket and its countermass system are self contained disposable units.)

Shelton was thoroughly disoriented. "I thought we'd got away?" he muttered thickly.

"It sound like it?" the scientist dragged Shelton to the elephant's launch shutter. "Now get to it!"

Shelton had no idea what he was supposed to do. He watched the other guy, who seemed to be setting up fresh launch tubes for the bull and throwing the spent ones out of the lab. Shelton quickly started imitating him for the elephant.

Alright.. Aisha said.. "But my courses didn';t cover shutting off reactors unfortunateky, so we're going to have to go on blind faith here.. the manual cutoff switch should be.. ahh" She noticed a large swiitch behinmnd a glass panel. The wording above the panel read " manual reactor shutdown. in case of emergency.. break glass.." "I think this is it" Aisha said, excitement creping into her voice..

Alfred slammed his elbow into the glass as hard as possible. The glass was a safety glass so he was not cut. He then pulled the lever back and noticed that a wall mounted meter showing the amount of power coming from the reactor soon decreased into the red zone then died.

"Power's out. Now that bomb can't detonate." Alfred said. He then radioed Dr. Bailey. "Dr. Bailey, this is Alfred, the power has been cut. Over."

"Alfred this is Bailey return topside and... Hey, nice to see reinforcements but you're too late they... Hey, I'm Pelvanida's control room admin! What the [censored] are you doing?! Alfred, Aisha, Zanasiu..." The transmission then degenerated into unintelligible shouting then cut off with a burst of static.

"Oh [censored]! Bailey's just been assaulted by someone. We've got to move!"

Dr. Branston decided to see if he could contact a small battery powered beacon at Pelvanida. To his horror he was able to. With a sense of growing horror, he checked the bomb's telemetry data, which was non existent.

"[censored]! The bomb malfunctioned!" Dr. Branston shouted.

"Well, it's too late. We're already out almost at the Nevada border." the technician said.

(OOC - The misguided invasion has started with the special forces troopers subduing Dr. Bailey.)

I should find Kerzach and let him know.

Shelton turned to head back for the main room when one of the dispelled plastic balls shot into his head. He slid into a wall, unconscious.

"Dammit!" swore the elephant. "Get another loader in here!"

"I would rather the LVMPD got involved." Alfred replied, dashing up the stairs.

They soon met with Nixon, Dr. Greene, Dr. Zanasiu, Zachary, Hans, Werner and PFC Reynolds in a large hallway leading to the control room.

"I'm guessing you heard." Hans said.

"No [censored]!" Alfred replied.

"No time to talk; we need to move!" Dr. Zanasiu said, breaking into a run.

The rest of the group ran after him.

They hid behind some debris and spied on the control room. There Dr. Bailey was surrounded by 5 black clad and armored special forces troopers. From their armor, it appeared that most of them were canine but at least one was a Human.

"Unhand me!" Dr. Bailey shouted. He was handcuffed to a chair and the armored Human and an armored canine pointed their weapons, H&K G11 rifles, at him.

"We have been ordered to take back control of Pelvanida." the squad leader, an armored canine said. His helmet and armor made it impossible to determine what kind of canine he was.

"By who!?" Dr. Bailey demanded.

"That is classified." the squad leader replied.

Zachary's sensitive hearing let him hear snatches of the conversation.

"Guys," Zachary whispered, "they're US special forces troopers."

"I vote we negotiate." Dr. Zanasiu whispered.

Dr. Zanasiu handed his shotgun to Zachary.

"Zach, stay out of sight. Hans, Aisha, Alfred and myself will attempt to negotiate." Dr. Zanasiu said.

Alfred and Hans handed their weapons over to Zachary.

Dr. Zanasiu then approached the troopers.

Two of the troopers immediately aimed their weapons at him.

"I am not armed." Dr. Zanasiu said, displaying his hands.

"Who are you?" the Human trooper demanded, keeping his rifle level with Dr. Zanasiu's face.

"I am Dr. James Zanasiu, a biologist for Pelvanida." Dr. Zanasiu replied.

"Really? Rather unseemly for a biologist to level most of the Vegas downtown area and kill a number of civilians." the trooper replied.

"I can explain that. We were sent back to Pelvanida by General Jake Moby of Carson City Camp under orders to find and destroy a series of illegal experiments known as 'Dragonstorm'. Unfortunately, before we were able to destroy Dragonstorm, the main lab for the project broke off of Pelvanida and fled. We were then forced to chase the lab through Vegas. We tried to avoid collateral damage but we had to fight off their armed escorts as well. Unfortunately, we were forced to turn back because an inside source in the mobile lab alerted us to a bomb at Pelvanida. We managed to disarm the bomb so there is no danger." Dr. Zanasiu explained.

The leader, who had been listening in, nodded his head. "He's lyin', take 'em in!"

Two troopers immediately threw Dr. Zanasiu to the ground and tried to handcuff him.

"Damn it! I'm telling the truth! Go ask anyone behind me!" Dr. Zanasiu grunted.

Dr Landon spoke up " Hi is telling the truth gentlemen.. we have been trying to stop Dragonstorm, but woth only some sucess..they have been doing experiments on children that they have kidnapped from the surrounding area among other things..

One of the passengers of the crashed SUV dove back inside to search for more rockets, which proved to be a bad move. Dervus' tank was still advancing forward, and crushed the wrecked SUV under it's treads with a squeel of bending metal.

There was a horrible scream over the intercom as Unbel's tank exploded in a thick crimson fireball. The tank had been struck by AT from the rear, and it had filled the inside with white hot lead. There was no way anyone was getting out of there alive.

Though Unbel's tank was nothing more then carred rubble, his sacrifice was not in vain for Lt. Lain's tank had wheeled around and was commencing full pursuit. As quick as the Leopard was, the truck was faster and was getting away.

"Did you see that [censored] they torched UB's ride into dust, where the hell did they get AT?" spoke up Lain's driver. The gunner turned his quad autocannon turret towards the back of Lab 101.

"Hold it gunner, those hatches are at least 50 proof. Wait for it..." Lt. Lain commanded.

The truck was getting farther away, despite the throttle being to the max. The gunner was getting ichy.

"Wait it Max, if you let one off they ain't going to open the hatches!"

Just as the truck was almost out of range, one of the three rear hatches popped open to reveal another terrorist with a missile. Strangely, from what he was wearing it looked like he had the face of an elephant.

"Fire god dammit," yelled Lain.

A barrage of explosive shells burst of out of the autocannon, and the gunner's aim was true. Although many shots simply exploded on the armour plating three of them entered through the exposed hatch, detonating instantly upon hitting the scientist's flesh. The explosive percussions blew him apart, and scattered white-hot shards of shrapnel all through the gun bay in the rear of the van. The other two shooters were instantly killed, and the entire gun bay was shredded up inside.

The gunner kept shooting, even as the truck ducked out of range, until the clip was dry. The driver let up on the throttle a bit, and looked like he was going to be sick. He had ever been in live combat before, and watching living humans be torn apart by ammo was disgusting.

...

Colonel Rivende turned on the outside speakerphone, and addressed the survivors, even as another rocket bounced off the hull of the tank and sent it rocking from side to side.

"Attention suspected terrorists, you are outnumbered and outgunned. Put your weapons down and your hands above your head!"

...

In the single stopped SUV, the four passengers (two humans, a wolf man, and a deer) all laughed in amusement. They were waiting until their "captors" approached to make their move. The deer reached into the back and withdrew a combat shotgun, and started clicking in the shells.

"What the hell was that?" Dr. Zenarchis yelled. Everyone in the main compartment had ducked and covered when the fireworks shot in.

Some assistants charged into the gunner bay. They dragged Shelton out. "Autocannon fire. Only survivor was the guy already on the ground."

"Who is it?"

The assistants checked. "Can't tell. Face and clothes are cut up pretty bad."

"Is he badly injured?"

"Nothing that won't heal, but he is unconscious."

"Get him with the others," the Black man ordered. "It doesn't matter. The enemy isn't giving pursuit. Idiots are going for the SUV with the backup files; they won't know what hit them."

As soon as the truck got out of range, Dr. Branston spoke into the intercom.

"Damage assessment!" he ordered.

"Well, the rear gunnery station is completely ruined, except for the hatches, which are now closed. We have three dead and three ruined PICADOR missile launchers. The autocannon is empty." a Falcon technician said.

Dr. Branston spoke into the intercom. "Reload the autocannon."

O'Neill grabbed Dr. Kerzach, who was sitting in the kitchen amid a pile of spent brass. "Gallo! Reload the autocannon!"

"Why bother? The tanks are out of range." Dr. Kerzach asked.

"Do as I say!" O'Neill demanded.

Dr. Kerzach then got up and headed to the bathrooms, there an Ocelot was waiting. "Where's the ammunition canister!?" he demanded.

"Don't you have it!?" Dr. Kerzach asked.

"You [censored] idiot! Go get it from the hall closet!"

Dr. Kerzach entered the hall closet. The sound of weapons fire tore through the air. He found a hand truck and used it to load a large canister of 20 mm ammunition. He the wheeled the canister back to the Ocelot, who opened one of the armored shutters and tossed the empty canister out. He then fed the belt into the cannon and reactivated it.

He, along with Dr. Kerzach left the room.

"Are the experiments okay?" Dr. Kerzach asked.

The Black man nodded. "They are indeed, the experiments are at the front of the trailer along with the crew rooms and the vitals of the lab itself. The rear holds the autocannons, kitchen, bathrooms and some closets.

As soon as the control panel's red light on the single remaining autocannon turned off, Dr. Branston activated it.

"Sir, the hostiles are out of sight and we do not believe they can hit us." the Falcon said.

Dr. Branston thought a moment and retracted the autocannon. "We don't want to attract unwanted attention with it."

The Pigeon flipped the middle finger at one of the tanks as he loaded his last rocket and fired. "I'm out of rockets!" he shouted.

"Hide and keep your sidearm ready." the Parakeet whispered.

They then ducked down into the ditch and waited with their pistols out.
