The combatants were lined up and checked. Jake was told to remove anything which was contrary to the dress code.

Now it was time to match the combatants together. Luckily, there were an even number of them. Rex was matched up against the female, who happened to be named Selturma. Jake was matched up against Rhiga, much to his chagrin.

"I knew it! All of the other fighters besides Jake, Rex, and that young female are fully grown Dracon males, which the judges would never match me up against." Rhiga thought.

"Jake, you are in BIG trouble now!" Rhiga said.

Jake and Rhiga happened to be assigned to fight first. Rhiga and Jake entered the ring, and on the blow of a horn, they started to fight.

Rhiga was hurt by that; she swore she felt some leakage. But still, she fought on, and used her tail to try and trip Jake.

Rhiga leapt at Jake, but tripped on her tail and fell out of the ring, thus losing round 1. She was normally more agile than this, but had allowed herself to be blinded by anger, and pain. She would be more careful next time.
