No, Annette I would not want you to suffer in my stead' Minna replied. " I don't know where Malcia is exactly.."
_
I can help locate her' Margas said.. "I can sense where she is.. as for placing the curse on someone else..
Ilsa said. " the curse is easy to spead, at least in the first few days after the incantation. then it becomes more and more difficult to pass on. your offer is noble annette, but we couldn;'t bear the guilt if you were executed- and the penalty for this is execution- in our stead. we need everyone you can get.

"If you can find her, then by all means do so, and quickly... please!" Lucien asked Margas. Lucien had very little knowledge of the workings of magic... although he was an excellent warrior.

The five of them, 2 male Dracons, 2 female Dracons, and the human girl all gathered supplies needed for their trip. Within under an hour, they were ready to go. They went down to the river and got into a boat; it was the fastest way to get to Malcia's tower.

"So, Annette... do you have any magical powers?" Lucien queried. "Are your clothes or armor enchanted?" The Dracon noble was a bit ignorant... he didn't understand why a female would be dressed like that...

Then again... she did have hair on her body... and five toes with no real claws... and her skin was a tan color which no Dracon had... and she had no horns... no claws... no tail... and had no spur coming out of her heel... yeah, she was an unusual creature alright... he'd want to hide his unclawed digits, should he ever lose some of his claws... and if had hair, he'd shave it all off... who ever heard of a Dracon without horns? Maybe Annette had the right idea, given her appearance, he thought.

Malcia's palace is more than 200 miles away" Margas said. That could take a couple days to get there..."
-
We're going to get there, and when we do I'm going to wring Malcia's neck" Ilsa said , angrily. 'What she's done is unforgivable.."

"A couple of DAYS?! We don't have that time! Is there any enchantment that you can place on the boat?" Lucien asked Minna and Ilsa, afraid of what might happen. There was the issue of the curse advancing too far in that time, and the possibility to the Dark Master launching an attack soon. A detour of a few days could be fatal.

Jake was lying down in his room sleeping, his armour was sitting in a corner. Jake was very tired so he had recently removed all of his clothes apart from his boxer shorts. After a while Jake got up off of his bed  and he put his clothes and armour back on. And he looked outside his room and he spoke to a servant "Can you get me some food?" asked Jake "i'm starved"

Annette smiled at Lucien and gave a swift smile.
"Do not worry, I am a mage of considerable power, and a noble by birth, but I will need help. Of that I have no doubt." She then cleared her throat as she continued by saying, "And my armor and clothing are indeed enchanted, however I suppose a stronger spell might be need once we reach our destination.

Arianne and Eriol were walking alongside Adykon, Vespion, Selturma and the Fauxen. - "I think what we really need are armor parts, for protection, since the attacks will do nothing but to get more dangerous." - Arianne commented as she was looking at the different stores.

"Yes, but heavy armors will just impair our mobility, specially yours my dear..." - Eriol replied. - "I think what we need is leather armor, that will be the lesser protection, but you need your agility far more than even me. We can have leather parts as our main defense and metal parts for arms and legs, that should do it."

Arianne nodded, agreeing with the idea. Feline Gaean soldiers can use heavier armors than leather, but even though, they are not as heavy as other races, like Wolves, may use. but Arianne and Eriol are very flexible (he can be even more than the average feline) so they favor more their speed and agility than a total frontal assault on many enemies at one time.

(OOC: This is my 10,000th post! To celebrate, I will be responding to EACH of the three previous posts in one big post! Drumroll please... :D )

In the palace of the prince of Hekaga...

The servant in question was a female Dracon with an exotic look, even for her kind. Her skin was a very rare shade of golden yellow with a pale white underbelly. Was it possible that she had dyed it somehow, or that it had been modified by magic? Who knows... mages, lords, and the rich liked to keep unique oddities around their palaces... like baubles... the same way a vain noblewoman collects jewelry. This girl could not have been older than 21... yet she had an air of having served in the palace for many years. Her clothing was very light, yet made out of the fanciest silks available.

"Your wish is my command, human" She said, leaving quickly. Not even ten minutes later, the female had returned with some food in a large porcelain plate; on it was a side of beef, exotic fruits, some bread with butter and olive oil, a side of asparagus, and two containers of some kind of spice in each.

As Jake sat down to eat, the female left suddenly, and returned with a tray... but it wasn't a second course... it wasn't even dessert. She had brought oils... but to what end? This is where Jake would learn the depths of the Prince's brutality and tyranny. The female was trained to treat every one she was sent to serve as if he was the prince himself. The Dracons were not exactly known for goodness, fairness, or equality, but this was far worse than the norm. While Jake was still eating the food, the female took off her top and loincloth, and, in the manner the sick prince would have wanted her to, began applying to oils to herself. And this was treated in her mind as being totally normal... without being prompted by Jake, or the prince, or anyone else, she began to oil herself down... much to the human's disgust.

The spell had made Jake evil, but not twisted... at least, not in this way. He told her to stop and put her clothes back on, to which she expressed surprise and stopped putting oil on herself, but she neither left nor dressed.

"Is something wrong?" she asked. "Maybe you want me to do you first?" she asked, reaching over to touch Jake. Her skin was soft... VERY soft... even by the standards of a Dracon female. This was... odd. Upon feeling her, Jake realized that something had been done to her to make her this way... like her very biology had been twisted for the sick pleasure of the prince. Jake told her to leave, and after she had tried three times to get his shirt off, he finally got her to exit the room. They must have conditioned her to act in a certain way...

It was sad to see the powers of magic and life be captured and twisted to the whims of an evildoer... yet, that is what many mages, or those who employed the services of mages wanted... power. Power is defined as the ability to shape reality to one's will. There was a limit to how much power could be used and in what way before it transgressed a moral line. It was not only the case that with great power comes great responsibility, but that with too much power, the chance to abuse it grows. With great power must also come great wisdom to use that power... or else things that ought not be will come.

At the docks of Minbenthac...

Annette, Margas, Minna, Lucien, and Ilsa all gathered their supplies and put them into the boat. They set sail up the river, traveling at a very rapid pace, thanks to a spell cast on the boat by a mage that Tallon supplied. "So Annette, I've been meaning to ask you... what are human lands like? Do you all wear those odd garments on your feet where you come from, or is it a special piece of clothing that mages use" Lucien asked out of sheer ignorance.

The river was long and winding, and the water was not at all calm. Still, their progress was very fast, and that is what counted. They could go to find Malcia, defeat her, and return to Minbenthac by nightfall if they kept up this pace.

The Marketplace of Minbenthac...

The panic-buying continued throughout the day, the crowds were massive, and the prices were being raised to... "meet the demand." Still, it was not at all hard to find a store which sold armor and weapons. It was a magical store, but they covered supplies like leather armor and other protection as well... albeit of the enchanted kind.

"This is said to be an excellent store for our purposes" Adykon told the group. Entering the store, a female Dracon greeted them. The store belonged to a male Dracon wizard named Ophion, yet he was not around at the moment. In fact, it had been a while since anyone saw him in Minbenthac. His wife, Aurescia, filled in for him. She had a sad, bored look on her face, as she missed her husband... and there was a lot of stuff that happened to her kids... so many things in these last few years...

She welcomed the party as they set foot in the store...

"Welcome to Ophion's. You are free to take a look around, and-... You're the adventurers who have come to stop Dememoras, aren't you?" Aurescia's mood immediately brightened, excited at the prospect of finally being able to do something interesting for once.

"Yes. Yes we are. Word gets around quickly, doesn't it?" Adykon replied, doing the speaking for the group at the moment.

"It does indeed. Same thing with that rumor about the dragon on the palace... although I did detect a dragon's energy signature yesterday during a ritual spell of mine... but you're not interested in some little tale, are you? You're here for the equipment!"

"We sure are! The king of Minbenthac will reimburse for anything we buy here, so whatever you have too sell, we'll take it! :lol. No... seriously, we need some armor for the panthers here" Adykon told Aurescia, indicating Eriol and Arianne. "My weapons and armor will be made by the smiths of the king himself, but heavy armor isn't what we need for the gaeans here."

"Gaeans? Oh, those humanoid panthers are Gaeans. Fascinating." Aurescia thought to herself. "Hello panthers! I must admit, I've never seen your kind before, although I've heard of creatures like yourselves." Sizing the panthers up, she came to a quick conclusion, one born of a good eye and years of experience.

"I guess the male needs some heavier armor. Hmm. We've got some of that. I would not recommend giving the female anything, though... not even leather." she told Adykon. "In fact, she's probably wearing too much for a race which I've heard relies on dexterity, and since she is a mage, anything much more than cloth can interfere with her spell-casting."

"How did you know I was-?" Arianne asked.

"I can sense your magical powers. You are an air mage of some power. I'm detecting that your power was born in you... so that makes you a sorceress. I would not advise wearing any serious armor. Being a sorceress myself, I can tell you that. I do have some magical jewelry for your arms, legs, hands, and feet, though. It is enchanted to give you more power, greater agility, and to provide magical protection as if you were wearing more armor, all without the added weight."

"10,000! 10,000!" A crowd screamed outside of the shop.

"What is that?" Selturma asked, as she was investigating an odd, bubbling brown potion labeled "aloc-acoc."

"Oh, that." Vespion shouted. "The banks are closed, but some money is allowed to be withdrawn on a limited basis during this panic. They are only letting a few thousand depositors with good credit take out even a bit of cash. If your name is posted on a list, you can take out some money. This has clearly angered the crowd, as there are roughly 10,000 depositors who wish to take their cash out immediately. Hence, they are demanding 10,000 posts."

Arianne gave a gentle smile to Aurescia. - "It really looks like you have far more experience that I may ever have. I'd like to see the things you have to offer."

Eriol remained closer to his wife. - "I don't know much about magic, but I still think that my wife Arianne should have some of the classic style protections, because we cannot be sure about all the kinds of enemies we will get to find." - He then began looking at some more things there in the store, the armor parts looked very nice.

"I've got some light armor, if you want..." Aurescia told Arianne, going into a back room. A minute later, she returned with two items...

"Here is some armor for your arms" the female Dracon told Arianne. "These are enchanted bracers; light but durable, and made many times stronger than a normal pair."

"For your legs, I have some kneeguards for you..." Aurescia continued, setting them out.

"As for the magic jewelry... well, first, you ought to try the bracers and kneeguards on. I think they should fit... they are enchanted to expand or contract slightly based on your size. I also have some cloth armor for your torso... but we'll get to that a bit later."

Eventually, the boat reached a clear white tower. Standing at over 50 meters, it was the tallest structure around. Lucien had heard of it...

"So... it is true... it does exist. They had told me that humans use its name as a term of derision for overeducated, stuck-up, arrogant elitists... or at least, where they gather. So... we've finally found... the Ivory Tower. Malcia is here, isn't she?"

Lucien had heard that sorceresses were known for eccentric tastes, but that it was part of their psychology. Female Dracons, and probably females in general (or so he had heard) who had magic inherently in their blood were never really in full control of their power... it took emotions to unlock their energy, and those, by nature, are irrational... even if they are indispensable for a sorceress. There was even a place called the Twice-walled tower... so named because it took two heavily-enchanted walls to keep in the hysterical sorceresses suffering from trauma, emotional distress, or some other form of inability to control her power. Some were even insane, he'd heard... one kept launching a fireball everytime she sneezed, or tried to launch one if she had the magic in her body to do so. About 1 in 3 sorceresses spent some time in that tower... often just to calm down...

But this tower was quite different. Malcia lived in it, but could not own it, being a Dracon female... it must have belonged to her family.

malcia paused from reflecting, as she gazed into the scrying pool. "So.. they found me!  the angey cry reverberated through the room.. "Still.. the curse has reached a late enough stage where I can influence Minna;s mind..Door! Close!" She commanded, and the doors which led inside locked. Malcia knew those spells could be broken, but that would take time, and time was an ally of hers in this case, every day the curse drained Minna;'s willpower further.. very soon, she would be able to force Minna to do whatever she wanted. "I think a little makeout session .. in front of the boys.. as a warning.. will suffice..Ilsa has proven to be quite resistant to the curse.." She muttered darkly..

The boat eventually reached shore, and the four Dracons and human disembarked. Lucien saw the tower in the distance... not more than a few minutes away. Still... it wasn't going to be this easy. Malcia was a joke next to Arcantas or Asthia, and next to the Dark Master, she was nothing... but she was still a threat to the group rapidly approaching her gates...

Arianne thanked Aurescia and then she tried the armor parts, they fit perfectly. - "I think they better than I expected them to be. What do you think Eriol?" - she asked her husband, the look he gave her was more than enough, so Arianne looked back at Aurescia - "I'll take them, and that armor for the torso, that sounds very useful, I'd like to try it too if possible."

Eriol was busy selecting between the types of armor and the different parts, as a feline, he relies in his speed and agility, but not as much as females as he is also quite strong, so he can handle heavy armors. He then told Aurescia - "Excuse me, but I think I want to try some parts myself, some heavy protections for the arms, for the torso and shin pads."

' keep your self-control' Ilsa said to Minna firmly.. "She'll exploit any weakness you show.. thats hiow she was in studies..

"She was always looking to provoke me.. and I doubt her feelings towards me have warmed any" Minna replied. "Inside, she was nervous They knew what afflicted her now, but trying to force Malcia to remove it would not be an easy task, and failing to remove it  would spell dire consequences for her and Ilsa..

"I've got some leather armor for you." Aurescia said with a smile. "All with enchantments to make it more resilient to damage." Aurescia brought out some armor for Eriol, and a cloth torso plate for Arianne. "All of these items have an enchantment on them... even the cloth. I also have some jewelry for the female... 'Arianne' is it? I'd heard some crazy rumor that you killed the king or some such thing... but I know it isn't so... " she added with a smile.

Arianne grabbed the torso piece of armor, but then she looked at Aurescia with a very surprised look - "Oh no, I would never dare to do such a thing."

Eriol then replied. - "I don't know where that rumor started, but it may be just something to raise suspicions to travellers like us." - He said and then he grabbed and tested the armor pieces. - "They feel like they are stronger than they appear. Do you have a full body part for me, please?"
