The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

The young dragon paced around on his four feet for a moment, considering what to do. After 15 seconds, he spoke to her

"I don't sense any evil magics on you." Toby told her, relaxing a bit. "BUT, this does not mean you are free from that curse. Your recent battle with me probably exhausted most of your magical powers, so it could be that you are too tired for any powers to manifest."

Suddenly, the ground shook. Several rocks landed above the catacombs, having been launched by the trebuchets. The enemy armies were attacking the city itself by launching boulders OVER the walls!

Toby realized that if Violet's powers were suppressed, she'd have to make it to a safe place. He couldn't just leave her here.

"I know a safe place for you to hide, Violet. I'm trusting you this once. Cross me again, and I WILL tear your throat out, even if you don't have any dark magic on you! Now come on, we've got to move! I can question you later, when this battle is over!"

Violet just nodded back quietly to him, not wanting to say anything that might provoke him to actually rip her throat out.

She decided to follow him anyway to the safe place he had for her 'Oh, don't worry young one, I don't plan to cross you, nor do I plan on staying here' Violet thought to herself as she just followed him out of the catacombs.

Toby was guided out of the catacombs by the firebird, which was able to retrace its flight path into the catacombs to begin with. From there, Toby quickly flew over to Rex's house, where his family and Selturma were hiding.

"I have to go join the others. Just stay in here. Knock on the door and tell them that Toby sent you and that you know Rex, alright?" Toby stood back, but did not want to leave until Violet was safe.

Violet looked back to Toby and then knocked on the door, waiting patiently for an answers.

Meanwhile, Ku'ux nodded to Silverclaw "Shall we then?" he asked the Dracon mage before he rushed forward, leaping across the rooftops.

In an alleyway somewhere within the city, a charcoal gray dracon wandered aimlessly, clutching his head with one hand, and dragging his axe along the ground with the other.

The world was a blur, everying around him uttering confusion in his aching head. He could hear the telltale sounds of battle... but to him, that was the least of his concerns.

It was as if he had woken from a long, terrible dream. A dream that had seemed to go for an eternity... and from this dream, all he remember of it was screaming, and pain... and crying... and suffering.

Eternion of Greylane had no idea what was going on around him. He had awoken upon the roof of a building to the sounds of battle... and all he could think about, was... well... that was the problem, he couldn't think straight!

Something was wrong, horribly wrong. Yesterday, he had been traveling with Almia along the Harbored Coast, and had settled for the night to rest... and now he was in the midst of a siege with no idea how he had gotten there.

'Almia?' He cried out, his voice echoing into the streets. Something was wrong with his voice... it felt odd. It was his voice, but it felt like it should be deeper. It was the same all over, he felt like his body shouldn't be so... so young.

What the hell had happened to him?

The potions had worked... a little too well. The gray dracon that wandered the street was now thirty nine years younger, not only in body... but in mind. Thirty nine years of his life had been erased, as if he had stepped back in time mentally.

He rested himself against a wall, looking up towards the sky. He could see a wall of this city, and upon it was all sorts of chaos. Perhaps Almia was up there, fighting? They had fought off over a hundred orcs a mere few months ago, it would be no surprise to him if she had taken to the walls.

'Oh sod it all to hell,' he grumbled, hauling his axe into his waiting arms. It felt unbelievably light, his strength returning... though his head was still cloudy. 'I must be here for a reason, so what the hell.'

Then he saw a Dragonblood, and his very instincts seemed to cry "enemy!".

Eternion lunged forward, axe raised, his eyes glowing red.

Adykon continued to fight his dragonblooded foe, hacking and slashing with his blade, only to find that the enemy was matching him blow for blow. What was going on here? None of the soldiers that they had faced before were this tough. Truth be told, Adykon's foe was unusually tough even for a Dragonblood, and his level of skill was a match for his brawn.

The dragonblood and the alleged hero of destiny were matched evenly in physical combat, but the dragonblood had an advantage; Adykon could only breathe acid that was strong enough to burn skin. It hurt, but was not enough to kill. The dragonblooded soldier could breathe fire hot enough to melt iron.

Opening his mouth, the enemy soldier breathe a stream of the hottest flame he had onto Adykon, with the predictable results of pain and burns. His armor spared him the worst of it, but it still hurt him.

"AHHGH! You son of-" Adykon raged, swinging his blade at the enemy's head. A miss! Now, it was the enemy's turn. Brandishing his greatsword, the dragonblood landed a might blow on Adykon's head, knocking him off of his feet. Momentarily stunned, the mercenary was unable to get up. It was here that the Dragonblood made the error of roaring in triumph over the fallen warrior. It was a premature boast. Wasting precious seconds was not wise in a close combat.

"It isn't over yet!" Adykon thought to himself as he rolled backwards to avoid the blade of the enemy. Springing to his feet, the mercenary pulled out his gem of magical detection, the same he had used to determine that Ilsa curse had not spread to any other dracon.

"How about a little fire in return?" he shouted, throwing the gem towards the dragonblood, who didn't know that it was utterly harmless. Leaping into the air to avoid what he though would be a burst of fire or an explosion, the dragonblood was quite surprised to find that Adykon charged right over where a blast radius would be for his gem, and, leaping into the air himself, brought his greatsword down over the left wing of the dragonblood, cutting half of it off, and sending a spray of red blood over the vicinity. If it caused the dragonblood any pain, he didn't show it. It did, however, force him to land and continue the fight.

By this time, Adykon was wondering if anything could stop his foe. What was this guy made out of? Why didn't losing half a wing hurt him? Could he even feel pain? That was it! He couldn't. Dememoras must have modified these particular warriors so they didn't feel any pain at all. Was he even aware that he was missing a wing? Adykon hoped not. Running from the enemy, Adykon was pursued on foot without a word as the battle raged around him. Leaping off of the wall to a nearby roof but didn't quite make it! Adykon now hung onto the edge of the roof for dear life; it was a six story fall. He hoped that his opponent, who was used to flying, could not make the jump to the roof.

The dragonblood was unable to fly, but he could still run on the ground. He knew that his wing was gone, and that a jump would have to be made. Adykon could only hope that his plan would work as he held onto the edge of the roof as the dragonblood jumped from the wall...

As the battle continued, more Dragonblood soldiers began landing into the city, one of them landed just in front of Arianne!, as soon he did that, the enemy soldier drawed his sword and was ready to take her down when he was tackled by Eriol. - "Not so fast kid, if you want to hurt her, you'll have to pass through me first!." - As the Dragonblood raised again, his eyes full of rage was easily seen. That made Eriol to smirk as he charged, drawing his twin swords.

Both warriors began a very frenetic battle, as both were very dexterous at sword fighting and none of them were able to find a weak point in the adversary's movements to make a direct hit. But the Dragonblood forgot about Arianne. As both of them were fighting, the female Panther suddenly shouted - "Eriol!" - an the male panther quickly ducked, barely avoiding a strong whirlwind-like strike coming from the sorcerer. The attack been strong enough to launch the enemy towards the wall. He never had the time to stand up again: the last thing he saw was Eriol jumping towards him, burying one of his swords on the Dragonblood's neck.

"One less, a lot more to take care about now." - Eriol said as he took his sword back from the corpse's neck and then looking at his wife. They smiled at each other as they continued the fight.

The door quickly sprang open. Rex's mother quickly glanced at Violet. Thinking her to be nothing more than a refugee, the kindhearted dracon female nevertheless allowed her sanctuary inside of her house.

"Come on in, whoever you are! It's dangerous out there!"

Violet gave a nod back to Rex's mother "Thank you, but I don't really want to be a bother, but I guess if you are offering...." she glanced back to Toby before she shook her head lightly and walked into the house.

Toby flew off, reasonably confident that Violet would be fine. He had worried about the possibility that Violet's curse could reactivate as soon as he was gone, but right now, it was an acceptable risk. He knew that she wouldn't risk his wrath a second time.

Rex's mother led Violet into the house, and quickly closed the door, locking it tight. "Children! We have a guest with us! Selturma! Maybe you can see what this is abo-"

"Violet!" Selturma said as she ran down into the hall. The young dracon was not one of her children, but she was Rex's girlfriend, which made her close to family in her mother's mind.

"You know this Lycan?" she asked Selturma, puzzled.

"Yes! She joined the party. I saw her once, I think. Rex mentioned her, briefly." Turning to Violet, the Dracon girl bounced up and down on her clawed feet as she greeted the wolf-girl.

"Hi! My name is Selturma. Rex told me alllllll about you! That's some battle going on outside! Wow! It's really big! You were lucky to get out of it! We're holed up in here until the fighting is over. Have you seen Rex? Is he okay? What about Jake? Is he-..."

Selturma was very vocal when she was happy.

Violet just looked at Selturma rather confusingly "Uh, yeah, I think they're all fine out there, I mean, I'm pretty sure they can fight and all, but yeah, I guess you're right, I was kinda lucky to get out of there in one piece" she told her with a nervous little laugh, giving off a bit of a smile as well.

"Come in, have a seat!" Selturma told the Lycan girl, gesturing to several gray colored cushions in the middle of the living room. The young dracon hopped onto a large cushion and made herself comfortable.

Eternion and his Dragonblood foe fought across the alleyway. The Dragonblood has overwhelming him, his sword much faster than Eternion's axe. Every attack was merely parried or blocked by the creatures plate armor.

'Damn, you're a tough fella, aren't ya?' Eternion said playfully. He was trying to toy with his opponent, it was how he liked to fight... wear him down, take small chips at him every now and then.

There was just one problem... two, actually. This Dragonblood didn't seem to be getting tired at all, nor was it even hampered a little by any wounds Eternion managed to inflict.

'What the hell have I got myself into?' He asked himself as he backed away. The Dragonblood charged forward, and Eternion dodged sideways. Not quick enough, his left shoulder was struck hard, and he spun in the air... and finally smashed into the ground face first.

It didn't help that Eternion wasn't wearing any armor. His axe had slipped from his fingers and was a few feet in front of him. he looked up with both eyes to see the Dragonblood on top of him, preparing to finish Eternion by plunging his sword right into him.

'Not this day, you son of a bitch.' Eternion kicked sideways, rolling out of the way of the sword, which hit the ground so hard it stuck into the rock itself. Eternion made for his axe and held it in his right hand, his left shoulder hurt like hell.

The sword issue hardly seemed to bother the Dragonblood, and he let it go... reaching for a knife. He then charged forward.

Eternion whirled his axe, and brought it upwards vertically. The Dragonblood wore a great deal of armor, everywhere except where the axe had just buried itself.

The gray then pulled his axe out, and looked away as... well... the insides of the Dragonblood spilled out of the vertical carving and onto the ground.

The creature took one step, slipped, and fell to the ground with a metallic thud.

'One down, I'll have to make a note of that,' Eternion said wryfully to himself.

Violet just smiled back as she just thought to herself 'I suppose at the moment, I have no choice but to play along....' she gave them a smile as she sat down on one of the cushions "So, are you guys al hiding out in here as well? Cause it sounds dangerous out there"

"Yeah. Rex's mom told us not to go out. I used to be with Adykon, Rhiga and the others. Now, it is too dangerous for me to go with them" Selturma told Violet. "I'm good with martial arts, but not much else. Well, I can dance and do headstands. Wanna see?"

Selturma was only wearing a loincloth which could be more accurately described as a piece of rope with a larger piece of cloth at either end, including a hold for her tail to fit through. Regardless, it would stay on her even when she was upside-down.

"Well, alright, yeah, that would actually be good to see, I mean, I like to dance myself, but I don't really dance, just in case someone would think that I can't dance you know" Violet replied back with a little pout as well.

"I'll just do a handstand. We were told not to make too much noise, anyway; it might attract some of the enemies." Selturma said, moving over to the center of the room. Bending over on the soft carpet, she quickly performed a headstand, being careful not to apply too much pressure on her horns.

"Huh, wow, you're better than me at one, then again, I haven't actually tried to do one, but it looks tough" Violet to her as she just watched her do the handstand.

Violet thought for a second "I'm not sure, cause well, I haven't actually tried to do one of those headstands is all, although, is it pretty much the same as how you did it?" she asked with a bit of a scratch of her head as well.
