The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"As I said, you are better than most minotaurs, Ku'ux. That doesn't change anything." Adykon was firm in his views, but didn't press it further. Luckily, Vespion was around to change the subject before matters deteriorated further.

"What IS it like where you come from, Ku'ux? Maybe you can tell Adykon what it is like, so he no longer misjudges the situation." Vespion hoped really hard that the minotaur did not, in fact, come from a primitive community such as the kind Adykon described. While Vespion didn't hope for advanced cities, though.

Ku'ux looked over to Vespion for a moment "Very well then, if you do wish to know where I come from, it's a village, nothing like a city like this, but neither is it like huts and the likes of that, we do have moral standards we like to upkeep, such as keeping order, so that no fights break out over simple things like who is to have the last bread from the stall or anything small and insignifigant like that"

He looked over to Adykon again "So, believe what you want Dracon, that does not change the fact that where I come is where you have been to in your travels, not all of our kind are the same, I have seen, at times, these other minotaurs you speak of....they are rather uncivillized if you ask me" he spoke with another snort.

Kayla just shook her head a little bit, but did not want to say anything herself and instead, just kept quiet, allowing them to talk amongst themselves for the time being.

"Hmph. Well, as long as you don't come from a barn, eat out of a trough, and chew cud, that's fine with me." Adykon wasn't going to argue this point any longer. It was enough that Ku'ux was on his side. It would do no one any good for the minotaur to be antagonized any farther.

"And you, Farstriker, where do you come from? I never knew very much about the elves, really." This time, Adykon's question was not aimed at a race he considered to be mostly made up of thugs and animals.

"Me? Well, if you are rather interested in where I do come from, then I guess there is no harm in telling you, it's an Elven city actually, although, I for one, do travel, take part in archery tournaments, and also do hunting as well" Farstriker replied back to the Dracon.

Kayla was still quiet for the time being, glancing at Ku'ux, but said nothing as she then looked over to Adykon, shaking her head just slightly in the process.  The reason she did not want to say anything was in case it was something that would get on everyone nerves, in case it was wrong for her to say so.

"Alright, that works and-hey!" Adykon saw Lucien approach, dressed in shiny but otherwise normal armor. Minna was not with him at the moment.

"In case anyone is wondering, my wife will be along shortly. She seems to have the idea that making herself look pretty is a prerequisite for an adventure. I kept telling her that the enemy won't care how shiny her skin looks, but she insisted on having herself all 'fixed up' before we go. Sorry if this slows you all down."

"It's quite alright, Lucien. I hope that she looks as fine as you expect her to. I'm sure you two will have fine kids in time." Vespion, being a dracon priest, would know a lot about that; he and the priestesses at the temple were expected to breed as many children for the temple as they could; even if he was unmarried, the dracon cleric had many, many children, and he took part in raising none of them directly, although he  and the rest of the staff cared for all children of the temple communally.

Minna came up shortly afterwards, her skin had been powdered so that it reflected the light from the sun.. ' its not just to look  pretty, actually' She smiled at Vespion. ' it has some benefits, such as keeping in moisture in the desert, and  while I apologize for my delay, i see ui'm not the only one who is tardy.."
- It was then that margas and ilsa came up to them. Margas had his armor on, and held a sword in his left claw, and a shield in his right,  "Ready for battle, Adykon. Please excuse our tardiness, I had a devil of a time trying to finding a shield in the palace armory, this was the best I could find.."
_
" Why are wearing all that powder Minna?' Ilsa frowned. She was wearing no powder herself " thats not going to help much in the battle.

"I must agree on everyone else, the enemy will not care if you look your best in batle, it is more about strength and everything else, looks do not affect battle one bit" Farstriker told Minna.

Kayla brushed some of her hair out of her face, yet, just kept quiet still as she glanced down at the daggers she had on her newly aquired belt.  Although she soon spoke up with a single question "So, who else are we waiting for to arrive? I mean, shouldn't we get going by now?"

"We are waiting for Rhiga and Marcus." Adykon replied. "They are the last two. I wonder what is taking them so long..."

Meanwhile...

Rhiga and Marcus was walking through the streets approaching the front of the palace. Rhiga's egg had been left in the safe care of Marcus's parents, and the newly married couple was ready to join the rest.

Marcus soon appeared " Forgive us for being late, but we had to get supplies, some weapons, and arrange for the care of our child.' he said looking at them " If we are the last to arrive, I'd suggest we get on the move... the sooner we reach the archmage's palace the better."
- Her name's Aerta, Marcus' Ilsa said in reply. ' 'Right, sorry, I'm not too good with names.. " Marcus said, a little chastened.
_ Lets head out then' Margas said, glancing at Marcus and Rhiga, then turning his focus to Adykon.

"Let us go then. Does anyone have to go to the latrine?"

Adykon's question received no reply.

"I'll ask again. Anyone need to use it? This is the last time we will be seeing plumbing for weeks at least."

Again, there was no reply.

"Alright, then. Let's go!"

Within a few hours, the party was on the road north, heading in the direction Aerta told them to go. Minbenthac was already out of sight. Luckily, the road happened to pass next to a river for about half of the journey, so there was no shortage of water, and there were plenty of villages to stop in, should the party need food, shelter, or other supplies.

Marcus paused as they stopped in a small village, by a turn in the river. "Mind if we stop for a short rest, to get some water Adykon? I could sure use a drink right now, and I'm sure I'm not alone there."
_ " These villages usually draw from the river" Ilsa said as she glanced around the village 'So water is usually not an issue. But I agree, we need to stock up on water, while we have the opportunity.'
Minna's makeup had started to drip off, due to the heat and sand. "And I need to clean my face off, I look like a mess..' she complained. "Well that's what you get Minna, for dressing up for a battle' Margas scoffed dismissively."Next time, hopefully, you won't waste time on makeup, and other things, that are unnecessary. The sooner we reach Aerta, the better, for all of us."

"That's fine. We should go over to one of those villages and get some more water, clean up, and take an hour or two to get our bearings." In about 15 minutes, the party had entered a village on the east side of the river, and took the time to make use of the water.

Rhiga walked over to the river, eager to clean off.

"Marcus, could you do me a little favor?" She asked her husband.

What do you want my dear?' Marcus asked looking over Rhiga's shoulder to the wide expanse of the river before them. " You can have anything you want, and I suspect I know what it is you want. Do you want me to rub your back, or even.. ' He grinned as he whispered into his wife's ear.He grinned even more broadly as she turned to look at him.

"I'd like that later tonight, actually. But for now...." Rhiga said as she undressed "... I'd like to wash off this sand. If you could help me clean it off, that would be great. Oh, and yeah, you can give me a back rub. Come to think of it, I'd like that. I'd also like it if you could scratch my back as well."

Rhiga saw her husband was in a generous mood, and she was determined to take advantage of it.

just relax' Marcus said scooping his claws into the water, and waited for his mate to get into the water up to a certain depth. Once she was in up to her stomach, he began letting water drip over her back. The water was clear and cold, and Marcus began rubbing the water into her shoulders and back, letting the sands on her back clump together and come off on his claws, which he quickly wiped away in the water. " Tell me where to begin.. you've got a lot of sand on your back here, nothing a good bath won't take care of."

"You can start by rubbing my shoulders, then work your way down." Rhiga sighed as her husband began to work on her tender flesh.

Meanwhile, Adykon investigated the village. It was a small, unremarkable settlement, where the farmers grew wheat and barley on the side of the riverbank. This region was a floodplain, and much fertile soil could be found when the river's waters receded.

OOC: Noname, I hope you don't mind that I present now my two new characters, before the journey advance more.

Eriol began looking at the surrounding areas, he saw the other members of the party getiing comfortable as they got water and relaxed. But he is not in the mood for that, instead, he decided to walk away from the village a little.

After just some more steps, he looked at two Dracons that were followed them. He frowned a bit and waited for them to reach the vecinity of the village, when that happened, the male Dracon said. - "Good afternoon, my name is Heril, a psyonic of the Guild from Minbenthac and with me is Kelassa, an exceptional Healer. We got permission from the Guild to came here to offer our assitance in your journey. But you departed faster than I anticipated."

Eriol looked at both of them and replied in a un-excited way. - "My name is Eriol Dha'ar, I am part of the party but I think you should talk to Adykon, after all, he is the leader of our group. If you follow me you'll find him." - Eriol turned around in a good manner and led the two newcomers to the village.

"Wow, I didn't expect the Gaean to welcome us so easily." - Kelassa said very amazed. To that, the male Psyonic replied. - "You don't need to look into his mind to know that he doesn't see us as threats, if we were threats, he may have killed us already." - Even though Heril did not see much of the battle, Kelassa was closer to the combat as her healing powers were used to help the injured soldiers, and she was able to see most of the members of the Party in battle.

As they entered the village, Eriol turned around to see them. - "You see the Dracon with the fancy armor? that is our Leader, I'll lead you to see him now." - Eriol kept on walking after showing the Dracons where Adykon was, but he then stopped right next to Heril. - "Let me give you one word of advice, don't try to enter my mind, because it is NOT a pretty place to see." - After that he walked again not before taking a quick glance at Kelassa and the way she looks at Heril. The male Panther gave a quick smile. - "Here we are." - the three were now close to Adykon. the Pdyonic went loser to salute the Hero.

"Good afternoon, my name is Heril, a psyonic of the Guild from Minbenthac and with me is Kelassa, an exceptional Healer. We got permission from the Guild to came here to offer our assitance in your journey. But you departed faster than I anticipated." - Heril said making a small reverence to salute Adykon. Kelassa made the same but she almost giggled when she realized Heril making the exact same greeting dialogue he had with Eriol. And now both Dracons waited for Adykon's reply.

Adykon was initially suspicious, but after a moment, he warmed up to them.

"If you have truly been sent from the psionic's guild, then we welcome you. If this is a trick, you shall fall like all the rest who have attempted to deceive us. I know that this is an odd way to welcome new members to the adventuring party, but... welcome aboard."

Under normal circumstances, Adykon's suspicions would not have allowed him to let some sudden newcomers on, especially at such a coincidental moment; these newcomers, Heril and Kelassa, just happened to show up in the first village the party entered. Regardless, Adykon needed all the help he and the rest of the party could get, so he welcomed them.

Heril looked at Adykon with a smile - "You don't have nothing to worry about, we are here to lend a helping hand: I know that Psionics like me are not trusted people, but my leader thought that it is nicessary for us to help and not to stay with our arms crossed and watching how the world ends." - The male psionic Dracon is 37 years old, dark brown scales. He is dressing a long white robe, but he has metal armor parts covering all of his torso with shoulders and then armor parts to cover his forearms and lower legs with a sword stored in a sheath hanging from the left side of his belt.

Kelassa then spoke - "I know there is already a healer in your group, a powerful mage called Vespion, I have heard of him and his presence could make my own coming to be rather less useful..." - she then looked at Adykon with a more determined look. - "I still think I can help you, even if it is just as a support, but I don't want to see our world to end." - Kelassa is a 29 years old Dracon, light green coloured, her clothing is in the style expected for all female Dracons, but still a bit larger and white coloured, with leather armor parts covering her chest, forearms and lower legs, a shield in her left arm and a mid-sized thin sword for quick strikes.
