The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I was checking out some videos on YouTube when I stumbled across what is indeed the very FIRST FPS in gaming history.

It's Battlezone on Atari 2600.

Yes, Atari 2600.

It was made in 1983.  Enjoy the review of it.

I'm not really sure that's an FPS game. The guy says that it reminds him of an FPS, but I don't think he confirms it was.

The game seems more like a third person than FPS.

Actually, according to multiple sources after doing a little Google Search, they show that it's classified as a FPS.

Sorry DH, but I have evidence. :P:

Well I still won't regard it as an FPS. Sorry.  :P:

I wouldn't technically class this as a FPS but it definitely holds within it the mechanics of what we would later define as the first person shooter genre. Amazing to see how far games have come since then. Looking at this and the looking at something like Halo or Call of Duty...wondrous!  :D
