Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Friendly Member Award: This one goes to Lillefot. He has been such a good friend to me in times when I needed him and when I was with him in our skiing trip. He tought me alot about photoshop these times and I am thankful for this. He just seems to get along with everybody. I had many friends at my home as he was there. And we all had alot of fun.

I would have liked to vote for Malte as well. But I had to make a decission. And that means not that I like one of these two guys more than the other one. They are both great :-)

Helpful Member Award: This one now goes to Malte now. He was such a great help as I needed it for school or for decisions to make. He helped me alot with geography :p You really deserve this one mate ;-)

Role Play Gamer Award: This one is hard to vote for. But from all I¥ve seen I think Brecklub really deserves this one. He opened so many new RPGs and is a very good Rper as well.

Philosopher Award: The Friendly Sharptooth. Do I have to say more? :p His posts are just so interesting to read and he has a interesting view about certain things :)

Proactive Member Award: I won¥t vote for this if it¥s okay. Because I can¥t really tell

Fanart Award: This one goes definitly to Lillefot. Mate, your art is awesome and I love IT!!

Projects Award: Action9000. It¥s awesome what this guy did out of an idea yet. This online rpg will be awesome.

Feedback Award: Kor. He gives feetbacks to almost every topic

Fanart Award - Lillefot for his artworks with Ruby;
Proactive Member - Rat_lady7, i believe she's one of the most active members of GOF and one of most energetic too(6,9 posts per day that's quite a lot). :)

^ Aye, without the explanation lines the vote doesn't count. Earlier votes without explanations will not be counted during the tally if the explanations are not provided on this 24th of May (so please, everyone who voted without the explanations please do post those lines or in some cases there may be ugly surprises).
As the final tally's don't stand yet and some votes may still be coming in the appreciated member vote should not start before tomorrow. In addition to that we may have to run several tie-breaking votes in cases of awards where several members reached the same number of votes.

So ummm....if the voting for the regular awards ends on the 24th and the voting for the Appreciated Member Award ends on the 24th......but we can't vote for the Appreciated Member Award until the regular award voting ends.....how does that work?

Where do I vote?  Here?  And is it my understanding that you can only vote for someone who wasn't nominated for an award?

But this is where it gets confusing.  If the people who won an award aren't announced until the end of the Appreciated Member Award voting, then how do I know that the person I vote for won't get an award from the regular award sections?

No, you just can't vote for someone who has already won an award..you can vote for anyone, as long as he or she has not alkready won an award..

Oh, so you mean anyone who has no award in their signature at all?  Not necessarily someone who hasn't won an award this year?

But how will we know if the person we want to vote for has won an award this year if the winners of this year have not yet been announced?

If you have been keeping tabs of the vote tally thread, then you hasve a good idea how the awards will go..at this late point there are only a couple awards that are not runaways for one poster..

Oh, so you can't vote for the person that LOOKS like they're going to win an award.  Got it.  I wish you would have said that earlier.  That was confusing. :confused

Appreciated Member Award voting will begin once final tallies are counted for regular voting.  Regular voting will end tonight at 10pm EST when I go to bed and close this thread.  Give the admins Monday to check our numbers and award the regular votes and we will start a topic for Appreciated Member.

Okay.  Thank god.  That sure clears it up.  Thanks for explaining that to me.  I was wondering how the heck I was supposed to do this, and I was worried because I thought the deadline for the Appreciated Member award was the same as the deadline for the regular awards. :bang It wasn't this confusing last year.......
