Longtail being on Zaines back was also curious to hear about what exactly was going on.
"What is Littlefoot talking about Uncle?" he asked cautiously keeping his voice neutral to avoid sounding suspicious.

Cyrix gave a heavy sigh as he turned to face Longtail and Zaine and then replied, "Well....there goes that." He then stepped over and said, "Try to understand nephew. Whatever issues you have with Sweetie, are far from over. And until you resolve those issues I am going to ask you to step down from leading your herd."

Longtail looked absolutely shocked as he heard his uncle speaking. He then jumped down from Zaine's back and stared at Cyrix for a moment before responding. "A-are you crazy?! Did you NOT hear me make Sweetie one of my three second in commands?! Why would I need to stop leading?"

Cyrix laughed for several seconds as he looked up at Zaine and smiled.
"Why indeed my nephew...but perhaps I'm not the one you should be asking..." he said with a sly tone in his voice, as if he were hiding something.

Longtail took a step forward and cracked his neck to loosen it up as he spoke once more.
"Uncle Cyrix...if you are trying to keep something from me, I suggest you don't..."

Cyrix merely smiled and replied, "I hide only what I need to, as do others around you, after all Longtail..." he said while taking a breath and grabbing Longtail by the neck, "You seem to be missing the bigger picture within our herd."

Diamond looked over and was confused at what was going on. He turned to Twiz and asked, "What's up over there?"

Ruby turned around and at hearing the outbursts from Longtail and Cyrix. She quickly stepped over and tried to keep quiet waiting to see how this would play out.

Both of Longtail and Pearl's hatchlings were doing just fine playing a game of tag chasing each other through the air and when the noticed Kit they stopped for a moment to wave hello.

Pearl laughed as she flapped her wings and took to the sky.
"Alright everyone, follow us."

Sweetie followed Pearl and began to lead the way back to the valley herd knowing Pip, Ptyra, Dinah would follow closely behind.

Littlefoot stepped back a little as Cyrix confronted Longtail. "Longtail he only means for what's best for you, but I couldn't let him do it. Nobody deserves that kind of pain, and especially not you." Then Cyrix began to act strange, then he mentioned Zaine. He was laughing as he called out Zaine, and Littlefoot was confused. He glared at Zaine. "What is he talking about Zaine? Are you hiding something from us?"

All eyes seemed to be on Zaine. He could tell Cyrix was not himself, but this was too much. Zaine was extremely confused at first. "I...I don't know what you are talking about!" he defended. "I'm not-" but before he could finish he turned his head around. He noticed Pearl and Sweetie were flying towards them, along with some other dinosaurs. He almost smiled until he realized he was looking at Sweetie. Eyes widened with horror he turned back towards Cyrix. Oh no. He knows about me and Sweetie. Zaine shook his head. "No........ Please don't Cyrix........ I'm begging you...." he pleaded.

"Are you getting all this?" Ali whispered to Cera.

"Not really, but it sure is entertaining!" Cera replied with a fairly evil smile on her face.

Ptyra flew between the two sets, keeping sure to have the young ones behind her and the others a head of her.

Twiz turned, "No telling" he said.

Kit smiled back, giving a wave back as well, "You guys don't wander too far now" she gave what really any adult would advise...oh no she was sounding like the adults now, she had to grimace.

She landed nearby, but not nearby enough to be obviously watching the kids or anything, since she remembered how she and the others had felt about babysitters growing up. She wasn't even sure herself what she was intending, all told.

"Hey Kit" Twiz flapped over a bit closer to where his cousin was, since she'd come from nearer the group, "What's going on?".

Kit sighed, "I don't know if I should spread it around, it might be gossiping" she said.

"Come on Pip!" Dinah said, rushing forward after where Ptyra and the other flyers were flying.

Pip had to laugh at his friend's excitement, though if what Pearl and Sweetie had said was true he couldn't blame her.

As they got closer, they noticed a bit group in the distance. It was very comforting even if they couldn't spot others of their families yet.

Petrie shook his head at the commotion going on and turned forward to scout the area once more. He noticed Pearl and Sweetie returning with some others and...Petrie's eyes went wide as he recognized the newcomers!

Everything in the flyer wanted to dart forward and greet those of his two cousins he could see, Pip and Ptyra, but instead he had the presence of mind to notice another important thing for another of their friends.

Petrie darted down to where Ali and Cera were, motioning and trying to talk. "Over there...they return...with...over there..." nothing the flyer was able to get out was making sense, and his speech was breaking again too.

Cyrix laughed aloud as he listened to Zaine's pleas. "Oh don't worry Zaine, I won't tell Longtail what's going on...but I suspect you should. It's only fair after all." he said with a sadistic grin on his face.

Longtail looked up at Zaine and asked, "Zaine what is Cyrix talking about? You know I don't like to keep secrets anymore!"

Ruby faced Cera with a scowl.
"Cera, this could be bad for Zaine and Longtail, and what's bad for them could be bad for everyone." she said with concern in her voice.

Diamond turned to Petrie as he heard him struggling to speak. He flapped over and asked, "Petrie...just breath and relax and tell us what you saw."

Dil opened her eyes and looked over at the sound of the argument and she smiled as she said, "This could be interesting."

Sweetie could see the rest of their herd, but the closer she got she could just feel that something was wrong. She looked to Pearl and asked, "Do you have a bad feeling about this?"

Pearl sighed and nodded her head in agreement as she looked back and made sure that the others were keeping up. "I don't know what's wrong but I'm sure we're going to find out once we land." She said with a frown.

Zaine didn't know what to do. Longtail pressed on the subject even more, and it was at that moment he knew he couldn't hide it anymore. Zaine glared at Cyrix with some sort of hate. I hope you are happy Cyrix. "Longtail, the truth is.................. Sweetie and I............. we've become............ attached in the sense of.................. I have feelings for her, and she has feelings for me......."

Littlefoot shook his head. This is not good. This is what we don't need right now. Longtail won't take this well at all. Littlefoot then noticed Sweetie and Pearl were returning, and with some more survivors. Trying to get the attention off of the current situation, Littlefoot spoke up. "Sweetie and Pearl are back, and they've brought more survivors with them."

Chomper was glad he was able to tell this information to Ruby, and then he went over to Rita and kissed her, as an attempt to cheer her up.

"This won't be good," Rhett slightly chuckled to the other dinos his age.

Petrie did take a breath, trying again at talking. "Over there...I saw who Pearl and Sweetie found, my cousins Ptyra and Pip as well as Dinah!" he glanced over to where Cera was, the realized Diamond didn't have the inside information into who that was, "Cera's niece, Pip's age, was a baby when we were kids".

Despite their own excitement the commotion did make Dinah and Pip slow just a bit unsurely. Just as Pip was wondering how to approach without interrupting anything, Littlefoot drew attention to them.

Kit turned, almost just in half interest really, and next moment thought she had to be dreaming...Pip...was alive, and Ptyra too, the back of her mind told her not to ignore her older cousin, but...

"Pip!" she exclaimed, darting forward. Pip had landed on Dinah's back in the slight pause as they got closer and as Kit barreled into him, both flyers were knocked off.

"Oh Pip I feared the worst!" Kit hugged her brother tighter. She then turned to Ptyra, "and you're ok too, Ptyra! Oh this is just great!", she would have gone to hug her older cousin but noticed there was a hindrance...which spoke up...

"Uh, hi Kit...kinda can't breath" her pre-teen brother struggled out.

"Oh!" Kit released him, "Sorry".

Yet now free to do such, she hugged Ptyra, "and you found and took care of Pip along the way, why am I not surprised" she half praised half thanked her cousin.

Ptyra embraced her. "I'm glad I found him. I was trying to see if any of my flock or family survived." She held her tighter, mostly from feeling guilt.

Time seemed to slow down around Longtail as he heard Zaine's confession. Several emotions played across his face ranging from stunned to angry to happy, and finally his face set into a neutral shade, showing no emotion what-so-ever. He first looked up to Zaine and could see the pain in his eyes at admitting this, he then turned to his uncle Cyrix who despite the situation had a smug grin on his face, and then finally over to Sweetie who he could see landed on Zaines back.

He didn't realize it until he blinked, but he was shaking the only problem was he didn't know if it was from anger or surprise. He then finally found his voice as he asked both Zaine and Sweetie at the same time, "Is...that true, you both have feelings for each other?"

Sweetie couldn't deny it, and nodded her head slowly but refused to speak, knowing she might say something she would regret and waited to see Longtail's reaction.

Cyrix stepped backwards not sure if Longtail would lash out at anyone, but choosing to play it safe.

Longtail then sighed and replied, "I...I'm sorry, but you two.......can't be together. It just isn't normal."

Diamond was surprised that Petrie and Kit had such extended family, and more than that, at least two of them survived. He flapped over but could feel the tension within the herd as he said to Dinah, Pip and Ptyra, "Hi, my name is Diamond, nice to meet you all."

Dil actually stepped back upon seeing what looked like a confrontation between the herd leaders. "Greg, Icky stay behind me." she said cautiously.

Pearl flapped down to Longtail's side and asked him a question.
"Well we can all see that you aren't normal either, but we accept you for who you are, not what you are, and if Zaine and Sweetie are in love....then...who are we to stop them?"

Longtail looked at Pearl for a moment and simply said, "No." He then looked Zaine and Sweetie in the eyes as he spoke once more. "One of you will have to give up your herd positions as my second in command. I'm sorry."

"Gotcha mom," Greg nodded, the young belly dragger taking a few steps back. Ichy landed atop Dil's head.

"Longtail you don't understand," Zaine pleaded. "I never intended to grow feelings for Sweetie. They just......... happened. She reminded me of somebody from my past and at that point, everything just happened." He bowed his in some shame. "But now that I know my feelings for her, I can't turn away from them. They're so clear to me now." He looked back at Longtail. "I love her Longtail."

Littlefoot shook his head in disbelief. "Why did you hide this from us?" he asked. "Why didn't you tell somebody about it?"

"I didn't want to make things worse," Zaine replied. "Considering what happened to Longtail and Sweetie in their fight, I didn't want another one to happen. I'm sorry."

For some reason, maybe because she'd heard the Valley's and mainly Mr. Threehorn's mutterings same as many others, Kit could read through the guilt in Ptyra's hug.

Older or not, Kit smiled at Ptyra as the hug ended, "Well you definitely found more family, and...", Kit herself wasn't sure what she was going to say next, but she cut herself off as she noticed Diamond come over.

Pip smiled, "Nice ta meet you" he said.

"Yeah, hi" Dinah said.

Longtail gave a rough sigh as he continued to look Zaine in the eyes.
"You still haven't answered me...one of you, either you or Sweetie have to give up your position in my herd..."

Pearl pulled Longtail to the side and sounded almost hurt. "Longtail, you...you can't stop them from loving each other...besides they are your friends right?"

Longtail looked to the ground and shed a tear.
"Yes...they are my friends.....but their love is misplaced, and....as much as it hurts me to say this.........it has no place in my herd." He looked up to Zaine and for a moment he could swear he could feel his heart breaking to see someone he considered a brother in love and having to try and break them up.

Cyrix stepped forward with a groan.
"Nephew are you going to step down from your position or not? We don't have time to discuss this." He then placed a hand on Longtail's shoulder.

Longtail turned and asked, "What does it matter to you?! You aren't in any real position to ask anything of me!" He then shrugged his uncles hand off and it was only then that he realized, his right eye was permanently stuck in it's sunburst yellow color.

And he gave a dark growl as he turned to Cyrix and asked, "Do you plan to make me step down by force? Cause if that's the case...then you might need some help!" He then turned to Zaine and Sweetie with a dark grin as he said, "You two seem to love each other so much....you think I should step down too?! I'd like to see you all try!"

Pearl gasped in horror for a moment before the training she'd learned from Longtail kicked in and she took to the air and said, "Please Longtail...d-don't make us do this...."

Diamond sighed.
"No unfortunately, I'm sorry." He then turned his attention back the rest of his herd and said at a whisper to the others. "I....I think we should stay as far away as possible....something tells me that a major fight is about to break out."

Dil could fee the tension thicken in the air and she continued to back up putting as much distance between herself, Icky and Greg as possible.

Ruby shed a tear as she heard Zaine and Sweetie confess their feelings for each other but stepped away as she could see the anger in Longtail's face.

Dein and Terri both hearing what was going on stepped forward and looked down at Longtail. "That would be a very, VERY bad idea kid." said Dein with a hungry grin on his face.

Ptyra blinked. "What on earth is going on over here?!?" Pterano had no trouble picking a new leader for the flock-he picked his oldest child-Ptyra herself! But it seemed that they two leaders were in conflict.

Littlefoot shuffled over near Ptyra. "It's long story. Basically Zaine and Sweetie love each other, Cyrix wants Longtail to step down as leader, and Longtail doesn't like any of this." He sighed and looked over towards the group of dinosaurs about to fight each other. "I just hope somebody can put some sense into them."

Zaine stepped forward. "Longtail this isn't your herd. We work together as a team in order to survive. That's how we've always lived. As far as I'm concerned, you're letting this power get to your head. Why don't you let Littlefoot lead the herd like he always have? If you don't want any of us to lead then fine, but you are in no position to continue barking orders like this." Zaine used his tail to guard Sweetie. "I don't care what you do to me. Leave Sweetie out of this!"

Petrie, being near Cera, was dangerously near a fight that could have broken out too, so he edged his way back too.

Kit knew all that Littlefoot told Ptyra, but still sighed since hearing it said that way just seemed to show what trouble they could be in.

"We should have seen this coming really" she sighed, "whether most of us were friends or not there were so many herds with so many previous leaders merging up it's...like a clash".

"Uh I think it literally is a clash" Twiz told her from where he watched too.

Dinah sighed, "Figures, grown-ups can't figure anything out". Pip just frowned forward. Kit put her wing around her brother's shoulder, "it'll be ok" she said, while not sure it would be.
