"Yeah, if anyone's already proven themselves, it's you" Petrie added with a smile to Littlefoot, landing nearby.

"We will" was the simple reassurance Twiz gave back to Azure's worry of getting out of the cave as he gave her a small hug. He had not proof of it, and it was party a hopeful wish himself, but their sting of luck seemed to have still been with them despite it all this far.

Littlefoot felt so much comfort with all his childhood friends beside him. Even in the face of such tragedy and danger they were all willing to follow his lead as they always did. Littlefoot closed his eyes, bowed his head, and smiled. "Thanks you guys. I guess none of us ever imagined something like this was going to happen. I promise for as long as I am alive I will keep us safe." He then looked over to Ali, who yet again had been very quiet most of the time. "You seem so distant Ali. Are you okay?"

It hurt Zaine to watch Longtail try and move towards them. "Please just rest Longtail," he pleaded. "Until Hunter returns with those flowers, you need to save your strength for when you feel better." I just hope Hunter comes back soon. Longtail is in so much pain right now. I can feel it. Zaine looked up at Sweetie who was now on top of his head. "I guess all three of us are a family. We all care for each other, and we've all been through rough times with each other."

Cyrix having overheard Zaine's comment to Longtail stepped over and smiled coyly at his nephew.
"Zaine, you may want to take a step back. Longtail is going to be on his feet in a few moments."

Pearl looked over and asked, "What are you talking about Cyrix?"

Ruby smiled at Cera's comment.
"That's good Cera, cause a brother, even one of a different kind is still a brother, and that's always something good."

Azure smiled at Twiz and hugged him lightly.

Cyrix looked both at Zaine and Pearl as he answered.
"You know that moment when you feel both scared and angry at the same time...when something bad has happened, and you happen to be right in the middle of it all...and you get that felling that makes you want to fight, or run...Longtail almost always chooses the fight. And in a moment, I'm sure he'll get that feeling again, and start moving on his own."

Indeed Longtail was still trying to move on his back still causing himself untold amounts of pain.

Hunter smiled widely at Luna and the color of the fire water made her look even more devilish.
"This is where it gets fun for me." she replied.

As she jumped over the edge and slid down the inside of the volcano with her claws the only thing slowing her down until she reached the point where the flowers grew. Then with her teeth she gently plucked thirteen out of the scolding soil, and carefully retraced her steps back up to the top of the smoking mountain with a smile. "Got 'em!" she said at Luna with a laugh.

"Can you, um, please not laugh like that? It's scary.....and creepy as well...." replied Luna, but yet, still managed to give off a little smile "But um, please be careful, I don't want to see you fall into the fire water"

However, as Hunter got back up, Luna just smiled again "Well, um, that's good to see that you uh, managed to get them, hehe...."

Cera turned to Ruby and said, "You know, I've always been meaning to ask you this, have you ever heard of the word 'redundant'?"

"I'm fine Littlefoot" Ali said with a smile, admiring her mate.

Littlefoot nuzzled Ali's face. "I thought I lost you forever back there. I was so scared you were dead. I'm just glad we found each other Ali. I don't want anything bad to happen to you."

Zaine took Cyrix's advice and stepped back a little. Longtail certainly looked like he was trying to stand, but Zaine still didn't think it was a good idea. "Shouldn't he wait until Hunter comes back with the flowers?" He noticed Longtail continued trying then smiled. "On second thought, maybe this is best. Longtail doesn't know how to quit. He sure is a stubborn flyer."

Cyrix couldn't help but smile, as he watched his nephew struggling while still on his back.
"Come on Longtail show us how strong you really are."

Longtail continued to roll on his back and after a few more moments of incredible pain, his body finally responded how he was expecting. His eyes shot open, his breathing became stable, and the scolding, deadly pain almost disappeared as a large burst of adrenaline rushed through his system. At that moment Longtail rolled onto his belly and lifted himself up, and the first thing he did, was to wrap his wings around his Uncle and his mate. "I..I'm sorry....for all the trouble I've caused." he said at a whisper after finding his voice.

Azure grinned at the sight of Longtail standing and embracing his mate and Rainbowfaced uncle.
"How sweet." she commented with a smile.

Ruby smiled at Cera and replied, "Yes Cera I have herd of the word...but I've talked like thins since we were children...you should be used to this by now."

Sweetie was rather surprised at seeing Longtail up and around so quickly.
"He really is stronger than he looks...perhaps he still has some things to teach us." She looked down to Zaine and asked, "What do you think?"

"Well, we should get them to my father, he'll know what to do at least, he's good with that sort of thing" Luna told Hunter as she headed off first, slowly making her way off the volcano.

Zaine smiled seeing Longtail up on his feet. "I'm not sure," he replied to Sweetie's question. "Maybe there are some things we can teach him too. Whatever the case, it looks like he survived for a reason." I wonder what that reason would be. Maybe he survived so that we can make up for the trouble I caused. It's a worth a try. "Longtail, thanks for not quitting on us."

Twiz also smiled, and shook his head, "Yeah, he's made of tough stuff there" he commented on Longtail, "and deep down good stuff".

"and so, that's where and why we went, but Mr. Cyrix didn't let us" Pip finished explaining to Kit, "and...well Longtail seems ok so...maybe it is best we were stopped".

Kit sighed, trying to think of a lecture, but it was hard since this was probably hers and the others fault for sneaking off when they were younger and giving the then toddlers the idea.

Longtail felt his heart skip a beat after hearing Zaine speak. He turned and stepped over to Zaine and gently hugged his friend and brother as he said, "I...I've been...unfair...and foolish to try...and stop true love." He then looked up at Sweetie for a moment before speaking again. "I was wrong to force you to fight Zaine...and...I'm sorry to cause my brother and sister such pain."

For a moment Sweetie looked confused as she asked,
"Do you...do you mean me Longtail?"

Longtail nodded briefly before he cringed for a moment.

Pearl stepped over and tried to comfort her mate. "Take it easy...you're still hurt very bad."

Azure smiled at Kit as she replied, "Don't worry too much about it...they didn't go anywhere...and Dinah is related to Cera...so it wouldn't be too far a stretch for her and Pip to try what ou gusy all did as children....it tends to run in the family I suppose."

Ptyra had remained silent since she joined the others in the hiding place. The arrival of the second shower of flying rocks had forced her into remembering the loss of what she was responsible for.

She joined the rest of the group and perched beside Littlefoot. "So, I suppose we're staying here until Longtail recovers?"

Zaine smiled. "I should have told you in the beginning about me and Sweetie, but I thank you for still keeping faith in me. Please just take it slowly for now. You've endured too much for one flyer. Once Hunter and Luna come back you'll feel better." He then glanced over at Sweetie. "I guess he considers us both his family."

Littlefoot nodded towards Ptyra. "We stay here until Hunter and Luna come back with those flowers. Then once Longtail is feeling better we will decide what to do next. I don't want to risk moving out too soon though. If more falling rocks appear, I don't think we'll be able to survive a second time."

Luna started to make her way back to her cave with Hunter, looking over at her as well, giving her a quick little smile too "Um, thanks as well, for helping me out....I just wanted to help out is all....I didn't mean to make anyone worried...."

"Yeah" Twiz laughed, "with some of the stuff I've heard you guys pulled...".

"That's exactly my point..." Kit said, she sighed, "I guess I"m just so worried because, sneaking away from the Great Valley is one thing but...in all this".

Pip frowned, "We won't go anywhere again, we promise" he told his sister. "Well...we promise we'll try..." Dinah smiled.

Petrie nodded along with what Littlefoot said too, but noticed something...well just odd in Ptyra's whole manner. He flapped over once everyone's attention has shifted from Ptyra. "Hey, you ok?" he asked.

Hunter grinned as she replied, "It's alright Luna. I understand you wanted to help. And I thank you for it, but next time just tell someone you plan on sneaking out...as it is, your father is very worried about you. Just be sure someone knows where you plan to be so we can help if it's needed."

Longtail nodded at Zaine words and sat back down on his belly folding his wings at his side and sighed, trying to relax. "I'll always have faith in you Zaine. Brothers have to stick together."

Sweetie smiled at Zaine and gently slid down his neck and curled up on his back as she yawned and replied, "I'm glad...but I need a nap. Perhaps we should all get some rest...it's been a wild day for all of us...wake me...when something happens."

Cyrix simply watched his nephew with a renewed sense of respect and awe.
"He just seems to not want to quit. I have to admit I still admire him for that fact."

Terri and Dein both smiled as they saw Chomper and Rita sleeping side, by side.
"How cute" Commented Terri with a motherly grin.

Zaine yawned. "Yeah I'm kind of tired too. Maybe I'll get some rest as well." He knelt down onto his belly and curled his neck on the ground. He smiled as he closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep. Well that went better than I expected. Let's just hope nothing else happens like that again.

Littlefoot was happy that some of the dinosaurs were trying to get some sleep after everything that had happened. He figured he would keep an eye out for Luna and Hunter in case they showed up.

Ptyra sighed. "Oh, I'm not sure." She said. "I suppose I'm a bit flustered by everything that has happened recently." She held her head in her hands. "My poor family." She lamented.
