Well, I recently did a very good deal and decided to treat myself by buying myself a new monitor.  No...I haven't gotten the 28" yet but I got the 21.5" Acer.  It was over $200 and the quality is SUPERB.  2000:1 contrast ratio (not dynamic!), a 1920x1080 native resolution, FULL HD 1080p, 5ms high-def response time, sensor touch technology....the list goes on and on.

It has VGA, DVI, and HDMI connections.  I was VERY surprised when they had all three types of cords included in the box.  It's just a beautiful machine.  I got a graphics card for the 28" but the quality of this monitor is so high, I need to upgrade my graphics card AGAIN to fully take advantage of all the features this monitor has to offer.  I'm pretty happy.  Though, I don't know how I feel about the 16:9 aspect ratio yet.  It's going to takes some getting used to. The switch from 4:3 standard to 16:10 widescreen was really smooth and enjoyable, but now that I've switched from 16:10 to 16:9, I find it a little difficult to get used to.

EDIT:  Oh, and I had to adjust my mouse speed.  I couldn't go from one side of the screen to the other without picking up and moving the mouse. :lol

Petrie.

Lucky you Mr. Moneybags. dino_tongue.gif

Hey, I may have money but it's because I don't spend it very often on luxuries.  This is a big thing for me.  Though I don't consider $200 to be "a lot" of money, I consider it "a lot" of money to spend.  I rarely spend money on anything except what I need.  If I spent money like I wanted to, I would have gotten 6 or 7 of these and had every computer in my office hooked up to one. :p

I splurge on things like large hard drives, $200 headphones and premium quality monitors....however I only do so maybe once every 3 months.  There was one exception.  A few months ago I was able to get 750gb hard drives for $75.  That's 10 cents per gig.  I couldn't resist and I had to buy a few.

But my spending is going to have to be halted even further.  I need 2 million to start up my master business plan.  I'm going to have to open a small chain of computer repair stores to fund that.  Then after I've got my master business, I'll need at least 40 million to start up my security retirement plan business and then I'll be set.  Of course when I've got all this money I won't forget you guys.  I'll either host GOF myself or pay Invision out the a$$ to host it with no ads for you. :lol By the time I have all this money, we'll have a hundred thousand members. :p Geeze, it's gonna cost $5,000 a month to remove the ads then.

^^^Yup that's the one.  21.5" is just fine for me.  23" might be nice but when I do upgrade again I'll get at least a 25" if not a 28".  But for now my 21.5" is doing nicely.  I'm still trying to get used to the huge horizontal resolution.  1920 horizontal pixels is A LOT to fill.

As for widescreen vs ultra widescreen, I haven't decided yet which I like better.  I recently got a 22" Acer after this one and I must admit that I like it.  I'm afraid I can't choose between them though.  The standard widescreen 22" is connected to my office master at the moment and I have another 22" connected to my secondary office master.  My third office master is connected to a 20" HP ultra widescreen monitor and my download computer has a standard widescreen 19".  My repair station also has a standard widescreen 19" and my mother has one as well.  The LBT server is connected to an ultra widescreen 15".
