The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

What are you thinking about?

I'm not sure it's right that I'm currently LMAO at one of my friends on Facebook who just announced she got sprayed by a skunk :lol.  I know it's wrong to laugh, but it's too funny :spit!
I just found out it was an April Fool's joke to piss her aunt off :oops.  Still, the thought of it is funny :lol.

With April fools jokes I think that in some cases it wouldn't hurt some people if they had a little more sense of humor for those kinds of April fools pranks that don't do any harm or cause serious disappointment.
Pranks that cause an real damage or factual problem are certainly not funny. If there was for example a pretense that the GOF was gone with a page making up such a claim and not only giving a severe fright to members but also denying them access to the GOF for a whole day I totally agree that this would not be funny. The same goes for the kind of stuff that one just doesn't make jokes about (e.g. any sort of pretense that someone was dead or injured) or something that will cause severe disappointment if revealed as a mere prank (e.g. any pretense about information of a new LBT movie or the like).
If none of these apply I will admit that I would roll my eyes over those who cannot muster the humor to just laugh along over a prank.
Arguably the April fools joke of 2008 (GOF admins getting in a staged fight over a ridiculously silly matter and banning each other) drove matters too far as people were really terrified about that one. In our defense I must say that even without thinking of the date immediately anyone who knew us (or even had read the countless expressions of appreciation for each other that could have been found all over the GOF at that time already) should have had a relatively easy time to see that one for the prank it was.
Some pranks are too obvious to be REALLY funny because you know the moment you see it that it isn't real (e.g. when last year the background and topic of the GOF was changed to a Watership Down board). Other jokes can actually direct attention to actual problems (e.g. when a made up member's birthday got just the acclaim that a real and active member would get).
Refusing all "take it easy" kind of spirit about a humorous prank just out of principle is a rather sad principle as far as I am concerned.

If Cornova has responded to my messages and has received the chapter that I beta-ed for him.

And I have to work on some medical sociology outlines.

Cornova is a Fanfiction.net author who wrote the EPIC PokÈ Wars trilogy. And I am serving as his beta reader.

Poster of the GOF's 200,000th post

Please read and rate: Land Before Time: Twilight Valley - The GOF's original LBT war story.

^ Look in the thread in the announcement section, the question has been answered ;)

Kind of wondering why it is that to many the land before time doesn't seem to work out until mixed with slaughtering and weapons of mass destruction.
Lamentable Littlefoot, crying Cera, poor Petrie, deplorable Ducky, sad Spike I'm sorry you are being employed as killers for the sake of entertainment :cry

On the (unfortunately) extremely unlikely off-chance that any of you ever visit my house, a word of advice: wear foot protection around my cat, who treats sock-clad feet the way most cats treat catnip mice. :rolleyes

As for what I'm thinking...ow, ow, ow, ow, OW! :lol

I'm thinking of the Easter Sermon and how fitting it was in light of a late friends' would-be 22nd birthday.

Thinking about how to get some of the annoying trophies on The Sabetour like stealthing a Nazi while disguised.

I just had an utterly stupid but hilarious thought.
Imagine something along our human habits of April Fools and Easter celebrations in the Great Valley. Imagine eggs being switched or hidden away there. Now that would be some real pandemonium there, wouldn't it? :lol

Earlier I was thinking about how the LBT dinosaurs might celebrate Easter, and came to the realization that most of them would probably consider practices like the Easter egg hunt extremely perverse and morbid. Think about it: from their perspective, they would be hard-boiling their unborn young, painting them different colors, hiding them in scattered locations for their children to find (who would essentially be searching for their dead younger siblings ), and eventually eating them along with other treats shaped like eggs and small animals. An exception would be the egg-stealers; the holiday would probably be their favorite event of the year. :p As for the other, non-egg-eating species, however, I seriously doubt they would want anything to do with it.

I'm thinking about school and how sh**ty it is and how I can't wait for it to end in 9 weeks.  I'm also thinking about a computer I'm about to pick up and how much the guy really knows about computers.  I'm thinking I might be able to get him to lower the already ridiculously low price of $195 if I play my cards right.  I'm wondering whether I should approach him as a technician or pose as a regular Joe.  It'll depend on his knowledge.  If he knows a decent amount about computers, I'll pose as a regular Joe and just try to innocently get the price down.  If he doesn't know a lot, I'll approach him as a technician and find flaws that might persuade him to lower the price.  I'm aiming for $100-$150...hopefully in the lower range of that. :smile

EDIT:
This is the machine:

I'm going to try to sell the computer for $250 and I might keep the monitor.  Or I might try to sell it for $150.  Either I'll get $50 and a free monitor or $200 profit. :yes

I'm happy 'cuz my classes for today were cancelled, and I heard back from my instructor that the homework due date has been extended for a week from today.  I only returned online to check my messages, and now I'm gonna get back outside and continue my yard work :smile.

It's around eighty degrees at least, so the weather's just right for yard work :yes.

Think I'm too tired to go downstairs, even though I had a good night rest!

Perhaps I should go to bed early.

Whether or not to attempt writing an Avatar fanfic to give me something to work on when I run out of steam for my current fic.

There's a tortoise on my bed and it burrowed under my blankets and now I can't find it.
