Honestly, I think that they were just CRAZY. Either they knew the consequences of one slip-up and didn't care, or they didn't know the consequences. It's a good thing that this video is being shown to the police as evidence.

To let you know this could have been a derailment. Why because when the engineer activates the emergency brakes some of the cars on a train maybe lighter than the others it coupled too and this causes the heavier cars to lift the lighter cars off the tracks. This is also why it requires a lot of judgement.

Well these days Amtrak doesn't have long trains except for one. I mean know it's easier to stop a train that quickly than it was 15-20 years ago.

Tell me about it. I can't even watch the news anymore 'cuz it's so depressing. My city has some issues with crime, especially in certain parts of it, but some of the neighboring cities are like big ghettos. There's one that, as of early July, holds the same number of homicides it held for last year's record. That means the number of homicides will be WAY up this year. Why? Just why do folks continue to do stupid crap? I know the logical answer, but I just can't comprehend why humans, supposedly the most intelligent living things on Earth, do these things <_<.

Looks like a couple of Darwin Award candidates to me. When someone rides their bike without a helmet, drives without a seatbelt, or in this case, play chicken with a speeding train, they will eventually bite the dust and the world will be much better off without them. It's called natural selection. I hust hope they don't have any kids first.

The city of Orlando has had the same problems as well. Thank god I live in Winter Park know, but it's not far from the border line to Orlando.
