The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Not sure if this is the right section for this.

Anyway, a friend of mine had pointed out a new section of YouTube for Movies. Not just trailers, but it appears full movies are being uploaded, with paid advertisements just before the movie begins.

Here's the page: http://www.youtube.com/movies

I don't know what the requirements are, though, to be able to do this. My guess, they are only allowing the copyright holders to upload the movies. Or perhaps you need a special kind of account, a Sponser account I think (that you pay for I believe), to do it.

In truth, I knew about that for a while, actually.  Research shows that they are put up by the original studio that produced the films.  A number of them are movies that are so old that they are either rare or can't be found anymore.  So for big time nostalgic fans, it's a nice treasure.

And it's not just movies.  TV Shows are also getting this treatment.  The original owners are putting them up.  I just love finding these old movies and videos.

BTW, the TV Shows can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/shows

Note that they also have put up Anime.  Too bad it's only the dubbed kind.  So, unless it's done by a company that keeps it in tact from the get go, (ie Funimation) you can pretty much expect crap from that. -_-

The movie section is new to me. Then again, I rarely look for videos by categories; I just search for them.

I do the same as well.
