The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Pangaea: Unfortunately for bears, they were blessed with a memory capacity extremely similar to humans.  Once they've mauled a human, attempts will be made to relocate the bear, and euthanization is a last resort.  Unfortunately, they do become repeat offenders, and those that kill a human will most certainly kill again, so they must be euthanized.

Serris:  For a race that claims to be intelligently superior to all other living things, humans often do the stupidest things :rolleyes  :bang.  As for TWV, I'm still following.  I just figured you're too busy revamping previous chapters to work on any new chapters, and I'm glad to hear the story is still in works.  I agree about the dorm room settings.  There seems to be little to no privacy.  I'm sure at W&M there's a few quiet places to take off to and work on TWV :yes.  As for Darwin's Soldiers, I'm still following and I seem to have gotten lost with the intense amount of posts others in the RP have made.  If I could get a synopsis, that would be much appreciated :yes.

Rat_lady7: I'm good physically, and I was good emotionally until I saw your topic in the AM Section.  This kind of news makes me sad, and I already posted my thoughts in your thread :cry.

The Far Away Home marathon is getting pretty close, with only two chapters left to go. With the ending so near, what are you hoping to see?

I'm interested to hear what you have to say.

So far, I'm really hoping to see Cera's group be reunited with Littlefoot's group.  It'll be nice to see the Gang together as one group again :yes.  Glide's character is quite intriguing, so I'd like to see him continue to be around in the next couple of chapters.

That's all I can think of for now :idea.

Were there any characters in the "In The Land Before Time" RP you would be willing to pick up now that Amy has left? (Namely Mr. Threehorn and Tria.) If you'd rather not play any more characters, that's okay too. :)

If I were to pick up any more characters in the RP, I would not be able to keep up, so I think it is best I stick to the characters I play already ;).

Do you have any funny quotes, conversations, or anecdotes to share in the “Funniest things you've said or heard
Funniest things you've said or heard” thread you suggested? (I think a lot of us could do with some humor right now. ;))

Bumping this thread with another question: What were your pets' reactions when they saw you for the first time in over four months?

To answer the first question, I almost added to your thread yesterday, but I'm not so sure the story is appropriate for GOF standards (the things an elderly, hard-of-hearing guy who would like to get lucky can come up with :rolleyes).

As for the second question, they went absolutely nuts when they first saw me :lol.  The dogs knocked me down and would not stop giving kisses :lol.  Howard danced and whistled, and when I let him perch on my right hand, he would not stop rubbing his head against my left hand for at least ten minutes.

They really did miss me, and as soon as I went to bed, both dogs ran upstairs, jumped on me, and curled up before they feel asleep.  I'm the only one in the house that allows the dogs to sleep on my bed, so I think they really missed that :lol.

^ Aww, that's so sweet! :DD (For some reason, I think Howard's reaction sounds especially cute. I guess I like it because it shows that mammals aren't the only creatures that can be affectionate.)

Oh well. I’d think that you’d have plenty of other funny stories to tell, though. For example, you could share your “geranium to the cranium” (:lol) story again, since the other place you told it is buried deep in the “Tell us something about yourself” thread.

That brings me to my next question: did you get the “geranium to the cranium” phrase from the second Homeward Bound movie, or did you come up with it yourself?

What is your most memorable/favourite moment in Far Away Home so far?

Pangaea: Yup, I picked up that line from the second "Homeward Bound" film :p.  Since I had actually knocked myself upside the head with a hanging pot of geraniums, I felt the quote was fitting :lol.

Caustizer: For me, the most memorable part in "Far Away Home" so far would have to be the whirlpool scene.  I think it was the intensity of the scene that made it memorable to me :yes.

Now that you're back home, what are you planning to do, work-wise, until you (hopefully) return to Yellowstone next year?

Do you know Anna if you will be at Yellowstone or in Virginia in late July next year? Absolutely nothing concrete on my end but I will in any case try if there is any chance to get a job / internship or (if I can afford it) a mere holiday to the region around Washington at the time hoping to gather some material for a work on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War events which are going to take place there at the time. Like I said there is nothing definite on my end at all, but if I did succeed in crossing the big pond it would of course be awesome to meet you.

Pangaea: Well, I continue to apply for jobs in other parks, and I understand it is very difficult to get in for the winter season (takes the average person six years ).  I need to build up even more on my retail and inventory skills, so at the same time I've been trying to find employment with local retail companies to get me through the winter, but so far no such luck :bang.  Whenever I'm not job searching, I'm usually preoccupying myself with home improvement projects that got placed on the back burner when I left for the summer.

Malte: I have no idea as of now where I will be by July of next year, and I'll post an update when I know for sure.  I agree that it would be awesome to meet :).

Another of my silly questions:

Are you an outdoors or indoors person?
