Perhaps I have been too conservative in my portrayal.

Also, Glide's nose looks a little bit too pointed to the point where he looks a bit like an ape

. Nonetheless, he's still pretty cute and contributes a bit of a 'whats all the fuss about' emotion to the whole picture.

Yay, you both caught the reference!

Yeah, I liked the mental image of Siak with something covering her eyes, and thought it would be hilarious with a party hat.

And you're precisely correct about the bonus that it means I don't have to draw those pesky eyes.

Actually, Glide’s expression is meant to express his irritation at being made to wear a party hat.

He’s probably thinking something like, “As soon as this party’s over, I’m throwing this thing into a smoking mountain.”

By the way, the idea of having the characters wear hats was at least partially inspired by one of Ptyra's art pieces; specifically, the last one in this post.)

Yeah, Glide’s beak and mouth were the main things I wasn’t entirely happy with (I think his mouth slants upwards too much). And I probably should have moved his pupil all the way up to the corner of his eye, to make it clearer that he’s looking at the hat on his head. I’m pretty happy with the rest of him, though.

Yep, I drew it.

I looked at references for all of the characters (and the words, too; if you didn't notice already, they're based on the LBT title font; compare them to a LBT video or DVD case and you'll see what I mean

), but the entire thing is hand-drawn by yours truly.

I used pencil and colored pencil, and my favorite pen (it's shaped like a longneck

) for my signature and the rest of the message.

As a matter of fact, I was planning to start an art thread. So far, though, the only LBT-related art I have to submit are my avatar, my submission for pokeplayer's July art contest, and a picture of Siak (the toothy character on Caustizer's card). That's if you don't count my dinosona picture (which I could post, although I already have a post describing it) and this card, of course. However, I can't help but think it might be a little strange if I posted the card in my fanart thread. :unsure: (What do you think?) Anyway, I'm not a very prolific artist, so unfortunately my art thread probably won't be updated very often.

Thank you all for wishing me a happy birthday!

I wish I could be happy today but... I'm stuck here alone at my house since my parents went away on vacation. I tried to have a party, but all the guests backed out because somebody's friend was getting married tommarow (a wedding I'm not invited to) or they are on vacation so it didn't happen.

Basically what happened today was:

1) No people around to wish me a happy birthday (only phonecalls from some)

2) No dinner or presents whatsoever

Sometimes I wonder if its my fault for just expecting people to return the kindness I show to them.

That's how my 15th and 16th birthdays went. My mom had to work both times out of state and my sisters all went their merry ways.
