I don't spend hours upon hours on one image when errors are not noticeable. The image will be even smaller when I make it into my signature and even as it is you can't see the errors unless you download the image and zoom up on it to the pixel level.
As for a signature image, it almost looks like they're afraid of whatever is below dino_tongue.gif If that is your intention then I guess it's fine dino_tongue.gif
Well, not exactly the fear part, but the characters is what you look at first, not the text. It's natural to look down at what the characters are looking at and that will be where the links are. Advertising tactic. It's used all the time.

I have my ways......but I didn't cut out any characters or use any layers of any kind.

As I said I'm experimenting. It's time to look out of the box. I originally used this method to edit the Saphira photo that's applied as the background on my server, but it didn't work properly for that exact situation. It seems to have worked quite nicely for this image though.
