Jake laughed at Ophion because the dracon looked very funny when he got angry.

"you dracons crack me up!" said Jake "you should see your face! it's hilerious!"

Jake continued on his way to the stairs and he walked up them. Jake paused at the top of the stairs for a few seconds....
"these lizards...'Dracons'...are quiet funny when they're angry" thought Jake to himself. Jake began walking again down the hallway to his room.

As Jake was walking up the stairs, he accidentally stepped on the foot of a female Dracon who was serving there as a maid. This caused her soft body quite a bit of pain... which was not so funny.

"sorry" said Jake. Jake continued on his way even though he had hurt a female dracon. As Jake was growing up, he was taught by his father not to feel sympathy for species other than human.

The maid let out a cry of pain, and shot a nasty look at Jake... but otherwise, said nothing to him. She limped a bit on her bruised foot... this would hurt quite a bit... her one-room apartment was over a kilometer from her workplace... and she would have to walk on that sore foot the whole way. The best she could do was to massage her foot and hope the pain went away...

"Who was that?" Shal'thzar asked Ophion, folding her arms and rising an eyebrow. "He seemed quite the joker.." Shal'thzar added in with a grumpy tone to her voice.

Shal'thzar never was fond of humans, especially those like that. She usually wanted no buisness with them unless they have a good spirit and mean well.

Shal'thzar then heard the maid limping a bit and frowned. She then remembered something and went up to the maid. "Excuse me. Did you need help? It sounds like you have a hurt foot. If you want i can heal it for you?" Shal'thzar said with a smile. Indeed she only had one healing spell but it was weak, it would never heal the deepest of wounds. But Scratches and Bumps or the like was no problem.

It was simply coincidence that the maid happened to be heading home when Jake had stepped on her foot, and even more coincidental that her path home happened to cross through the place where Ophion and Shal'thzar happened to be standing.

"Yes, I would like that very much" the maid said, as she lifted her brown-skinned foot to reveal a bruised toe on her left foot. The injury was especially visible on the pale while skin of her sole, which matched her pale belly and underside.

Shal'thzar kneeled down and examined the bruised toe. Indeed, healing would be no problem. Shal'thzar gently put her finger on the toe and closed her eyes. It only took about seven seconds before Shal'thzar openned her eyes again. Shal'thzar stood back up and smiled. "There we go. Good as new!" Shal'thzar said to the maid.

"Thank you very much!" The maid said, examining her newly-fixed toe. "My name is Chariana." Her name was derived from the Draconic words for "red flower", as her skin, while brown, had a reddish tint to it... so it was really more of a brownish red... that, and it was a nice-sounding name. Her eyes were red as well, so her name matched her appearance even more.

"Now that we are done with the human and that maid, we should really get on with finding and stopping that mage." Ophion said. "While you were busy healing her, I told this information to a city guard. He has informed us that if we bring in that rogue wizard, we will get a reward."

Harly was very vulnerable here... as the incident in the inn brought to light.

Only now did he notice the looks he was getting as he moved through the crowd, and even his smooth dignified walk started some as they made their way around him. Here he was an alien - so it would be best that he could defend himself.

Harly stopped at the shop he noticed was marked "Manoir's Ancient Hierlooms and Weaponry". It was a good thing he still had a decent amount of worth in his fortunes - he could use it to buy a good sword or crossbow to protect his person.

"What would you recommend for someone desiring a good arm?" he asked the Dracon at the counter who was observing something was his monacle.

"Indeed. And that old warthog of a human was no help at all." Shal'thzar said, making a comment about Jake. "Shame, i wonder if we shall ever cross paths again? I want to drop a big bubble of water on him!" Shal'thzar said with a grin. "But let's forget about the joker for now. As i've said, i shall follow you for a while and help you find this mage."

The Dracon removed the monocle, which was really a small piece of glass used to examine things up closely.

"We've got plenty of weapons here... have a look." He responded.
