The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

The member joining awards for 2019, 2020, and 2021 have been posted. We admins would like to thank each and every one of you who have made the forum their home over these years. It is because of people like you that the forum is the welcoming place that it is. :)

The forum supporter awards for those who maintained the forum on Patreon in 2023 will also be up shortly. Again, thank you all for what you do to keep our little corner of the Internet online!

This was originally supposed to be in the Welcome Center, but i'm welcoming anyone, so i put it here instead because some of the topics here are about the site (i think)

and 1 more thing.... who CREATED this site? whoever did i want to thank him for giving us TLBT fans an awesome place top talk about the series and everything else :).

Petrie is the founder of this forum. :yes

Other people such as action, Mumbling, Nimrod, JitteryDragon, and SouthPawRacer come here too. :)

Well some other people just don't have time to come here, or they log in and just never post again because they probably forget to do so, don't know how to, or something like that. :p

And I think this belongs in the Fridge...not here in the Party Room.

You're missing at least 30 other members on that list. And, sadly, I believe the majority of our members are inactive.

Some may believe they have to register in order to view topics on the GOF, then realize they did not have to sign up just for that .

Hey.....I'd like to at least consider myself a "regular". :p

But there are plenty of forums on the internet with tons of members.  Gaia online has nearly 20 million of them!  Are they all active?  Of course not!  If 20 million people were posting all the time, it would take you the rest of your life to read the responses to your topics.......that and they would be on page 1,394 in like 6 seconds. :p

It's hard to get every member you wanted in the same list; I had the same problem when I wrote my goodbye post in the Member Appreciation Thread. I missed Jedi and Vaan360, and probably others that didn't speak up.

Anyway, that 350 number will go down substantially if Malte's proposal to delete archaic no-posters goes through.

Not everyone is active in every section of the board, but generally you are correct that much less than the currently registered 368 members are active. There are currently 114 members with 100 or more posts, but not everyone of them is still around while some who have not yet posted 100 times are quite active.
A suggestion has been made (and was seemingly approved) to get rid of the accounts whose members haven't shown up for more than a year but never ever posted a single message (there are plenty of those).

I'm also around regularly, but like Mumbling and other menbers, there are parts of the forum that I dont visit much :p

But people can't always come to the forum, me for example, I will have toons of tests next week, so you might not see me around much(poor me :p )

Do you see me blushing? :p  I thank you for your appreciation.  As you've already seen I couldn't do it alone...the rest who are here are the reason there is a GOF. ;)

I really would like to be more active, but unfortunately most of the time I don't know what to say/write (one big problem is the language barrier). xD

I have a forum, too, with only 45 members, and only 10 of them are active... it's normal that a forum don't have active members all the time.

But you can be proud with over 350 members, that's pretty much!

It does fit that only a small minority do most of the posting while most do not.  It seems to fit the behavior of most members of forums and message boards I've visted.

Don't be too discouraged by the language barrier Waluigifan. My English was a lot worse than yours when I started out in the land before time forums and the early translations of my LBT stories to English are a lasting "memorial" to the sorry state my English was in even at the time of my students exchange. Same as you and I there are many, people around here whose native tongue is not English. Among other we have fans from Russia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Mexico, Chile, Germany, Switzerland, Austria so you are really far from being alone with being no native speaker of the English language. Die Sprachbarriere ist kein so gro?es Problem. Lass Dich davon nicht abschrecken, sonst verpasst Du was :)
