Okay, I'm game. Hmm. Didn't Ducky have a aknee jerk reaction straight to jealousy over Spike's new "friend" a bit too quickly? Speaking of which, what is up with that little retarded spiketail? He made Spike look smart!

Actually, I'm not sure if Spike is really that stupid. Sure he doesn't speak, but that doesn't equal not being smart.

I doubt Spike is unintelligent.  Just because he doesn't speak doesn't make him unintelligent.

As to Ducky's jealousy, well you can look at it in a couple of ways.  I see it that Ducky and Spike have always been close, closer than any of the other members despite the fact that they are ''brother'' and ''sister''.  When you have a bond such as that without any apparent serious threat to come between them..I think maybe Ducky found it hard to accept that Spike had someone else he could share many ''interests'' and behaviour types that she just couldn't do (due to the difference in species)...perhaps that is why she became jealous?

Part of it is indeed how close to 2 have always been before, as well as  how young they are also.  An interesting element to the movie, that did have some odd moments like Spike being able to smell food that far away, but they did need a way to wrap up the plot, though with better writing that element would not have been needed.  Reminds me of some silver and golden age comic book stories where the writer suddenly realizes they have only a page or 2 to resolve the plot.

Okay, Spike might not be stupid, but he's also never really done much to make me think he's intelligent, either. But that other spiketail was stupid, though.

Yeah, the closure of that scheme was a litrl abrupt, wasn't it?

When I first saw 8 I thought it the mildest, blandest, least remarkable one yet. Sure, "The Mad Song" was real fun, and the snow setting was cool, but overall it was pretty inoffensive, dull material. Well, at least they played it safe.

The animation isn't great but better then that of 10-13, which were really bad. Ducky is better in 7 and this one then in 6, when she had become rather inconsequential and even her cuteness was starting to get old. Part of it is due to Aria's voice maturing between 6 and 7, which made Ducky feel fresh and exiting again.  :smile
