Hey guys, i recently got the pro edition of game maker yesterday thanks to my awesome uncle Eric! and i began creating my very first 3d game! omg!, but i have one problem...i have to create my own first person sprites...grrr...because i can't find any over the net...and i'm also looking for 3d animated dinosaur sprites like in turok on n64 but i can't find any...does any one have links that could help out???

I made a few of my own a while back, but I have no idea where they are right now. I used a program made by Axialis to make them.....and Photoshop of course. Perhaps you should consider making your own.

It's better to make your own anyway. It kinda gives you a sense of pride, ya know? Besides...when you make your own, they can be any way you want them.

3D sprites? Don't you mean 3D models? Sprites are 2D.

Here's a tip. Get off of Game Maker. Go to Flash. :].

There's probably no royalty-free "sprites" out there. At least not 3D ones.

Flash is very expensive though. There is SynFig, which is kind of like Flash but free.

Isn't the best version of Gamemaker like $500 or something? Flash is only $699.

Only about $700? That's close to $1,000. That is not a small sum of money; that's a rather large amount just for one program. A more reasonable price for a program like Flash, in my opinion, would be around $100-$200. But unless it's a much older version I doubt one could find Flash at that price, which is why I suggested SynFig. Not sure if it can make games though, but it's free at least and can do animations. There are other programs out there, though, some free, others cheaper than Flash.

Well, I recommend "The Games Factory" from Clickteam:

It's an old program (1996), but I love it and I'm using this for years! You can easily create 2D games and simple applications with it (screen saver, internet games).

The pro version only costs $22, I think. But there's another way to get the program for free...

Oh. I was thinking of a totally different program then. I was thinking of 3d game maker. That sucker is $500 for the best version:

And Darkhououmon, I do think that $699 is expensive for a program. That's why I don't have it. I was comparing a $500 program to a $699 program, which isn't that much of a difference. If you're going to spend $500 for a program that can only make games, why not spend a bit more and get a decent program like Flash that can do a whole lot more?

I dunno. Personally, I'd save up to get the better thing if it's not even twice the price. $699 is a lot of money, but when you look at the cost of things these days it doesn't seem that bad anymore. I mean jeeze, it's like $20 for a burger, some fries, and a drink for two people at BK.

I tried to play it. That site sucks. Had about 8 problems then I just stopped trying.

No, but you should use Doom's weapons if you haven't already. (I think that's the kind of game you're making.)

But I looked for like 15 minutes. Can't find any turok sprites. You could just scour spriters-resource.com for some look-alikes.
