Oh,man, that was an awsome film! I went to the midnight showing last night and had the most fun at a film that I've had in a long time!
Fairing warning, though, its plot and chaacter heavier than the first one, and its part one of a two parter story, the third is part two. They have great sequences (not scenes, sequences) of pure hilarious physical comedy! This is a must see for anyone who liked the first movie! And there's a twist at the end. Let's just say that someone I can't name pops up again.  ;)

I couldn't see a midnight showing having to be up at 5:30 in the morning for work. ^^  I went tonight, and yes, RR doesn't usually watch sequels, but this one I knew, probably would be ok.  Oh man, that was something...it's not as light as the first one...this one is dead deep and serious.  That ending...oooh...Disney grinds my gears making me go watch another sequel ending it like that.

In general, I'dm agree with Roger on this, but this is Johnny Depp we're talking about here. The actor who's never, ever done a sequel before, because he hates the commercialism of Hollywood. That meant to me that for him to be interested enough to return, it must be one heck of a good script.  :D

The sequel has a few ups and downs, be warned. Some things they improved over the original, and some things the original was better at.

Attention readers, I haven't seen the movie yet nor did I read anything about it, yet I will make some guesses about what might be in it. While I can't be sure there may be correct guesses in this post which would be spoilers. So don't read on if you don't want to run the risk of a right guess=spoiler  ;)

EDIT: I'll answer it via PM...don't want to spoil it, since I don't think Tim wants any info. ;)

Oy!
OK first of all, the movie was a Riot; just Hilarious! :D
I loved the mix of action, adventure, comedy, drama, and serious aspects.  And yes, that ending was quite...unexpected.  I'm really looking forward to what they do with that!

Apparently you guys weren't the only onses to see bit. About 20 million tickets wrre sold to the film over the last few days and the recipts to the film total $132 million. yes, that is not a misprint. That broke 'Spiderman' 's previous mark by nearly S18 million. $300 million is a given in the US.

It's similar to Shrek 2 in the sense that sequel has done financially better than its predecessor.  :P:  That just shows they knew how to make a good sequel.  :yes

Yeah, as a matter of fact, it is. We'll probably start to see trailers of it pretty soon.

I'm glad you guys like like, thus far, because it s a freaking battlefield over whether it was it excellent, a disappointment, or just plain bad over at Internet Movie Database. Everyone's up in arms. Its like some people forgot that they went to see the first one for a fun ride and were expecting the sequel to be an artpiece or something. It lived up to expectations as far as I'm concerned, and I have no clue why the contriversy has been stirred up among the fans.

Cool! I didn't even know that they were going to make a third Shrek!
With all those little dragondonkeys we might get to see some little Shreks and Fionas too. What do you think?

This one is supposed to be something like "Shrek meets King Arthur" Insert your favorite Monthy Python joke here   I for one think it going to be great! Let's just hope that they can keep the magic of the first, without have to to resort to 'thong' jokes, like they did in the second.

You're lucky Threehorn, I envy you :) . You asre absolutelt right Wk, the reaction to DMc has been all over the mapp. Some say its great, some say it's ok, and still others say it blows chunks. It is rare however for a film to be lauded by critics and fans alike, and hold up over time. the LOTR trilogy is Exhibit A of this rare feat: a film (on this case films) that recieved high praise from most critics as well as from the fans. DMC fits in with the more common reception: mixed reviews by Critics.

I figure they'll probably announce Fiona at the beginning, and we'll probably see (a) little Shrek(s) and/or Fiona(s).
All I know is that this one features King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, and Guinevere as leading characters, portrayed as college students.
