Here it goes. This topic will involve some pictures from my Florida trip with descriptions to it. In general I have to say, that I was very surprised that it turned out like I always imagined it. Great nature, kind people, nice weather. And the steaks houses were awesome

So here it goes, I¥ll better just start off with the first two days to always give you a little break between the pictures.

Day one: Universal Studios.

This is me and my mother on a little walk with some shops and restaurants. This way leads to Universal Studios and Adventure Island

I honestly got the feeling that the americans are quite obsessed with halloween

Day two: Discovery cove:
This was one of my favourite experiences in America. Discovery cove is like a little tropical island inside a city. They just take up to 1000 visitors a day, so that it wouldn¥t seem crowded. It was really awesome. They had some tanks with dolphins in it, tropical fishes and huge rays. One could also feed birds by hand, which has been really great

I liked the skin of the dolphins. Just like I imagined it. They were real cute. As I rubbed the dolphins side (a she), she pressed her head against my stomach^^.

Great pictures! I love the one with the jack o' lanterns,

and all of the ones from Discovery Cove. For some reason, the dolphin in the second-to-last picture looks a lot bigger than I usually think of them as being. :blink: And the eagle ray is awesome!

Do you have any more pictures of the Discovery Cove animals?

The dolphins are very large. Around nine metres. And sure I have some more, here they come :

Whoa, Patrick! You really outdid yourself with this new batch of photos!

Lemme see…a blacktip reef shark, two powder blue surgeonfish, another spotted eagle ray and some lookdowns (I think), and it looks like some other rays in the upper left-hand corner.

Don't you mean nine feet? Nine meters would make them about thirty feet long; :blink: the only members of the dolphin family I know that get that big are orcas and pilot whales.

I was expecting that the birds would be rainbow lorikeets or something, but these are even more exotic! :! The green one in the first picture is a turaco, the cute little brown ones with the long tail feathers are mousebirds (looks like one of them really liked you!

), and I believe the other two are fruit pigeons.

I should suggest to my family that we visit Discovery Cove on our trip to Florida next Friday!

And do so please. It¥s quite expensive but it¥s worth it. And you can¥t buy tickets there, you have to do it online or via telephone. How I said, they just take 1000 people a day. But therefore the food is free, drinks are free and the surroundings are awesome

Now, on the third day we visited adventure island which was quite some fun.

Here is the Harry Potter area. A must go for all Harry Potter fans out there

One thing I liked was the new rollercoaster there. It¥s a mix out of visual and normal ride. You really feel like you are involved into a part of the movie

Help!!!

On this ride we got wet, very wet. How wet you¥ll see in the next post because of the limit of pictures. The mean thing is, there are little things where you can insert coins and push a buttom to splash water in someones FACE!!^^

Lots of neat pictures. Nice also how they are different areas in the pictures instead of them all being from one area. Looks like a very fun and large place indeed.

I haven't been on that JP ride in years. At the time we went it was dusk, hard to see some things, and we didn't know there was a drop.

The picture that was snapped on the flume tells what we thought of that. LOL

It didn't look very crowded there at all...you went at a good time.

Plus its Universal...they don't get nearly the crowds the Mouse does across the way.

The Harry Potter theme park sure looks impressive! My sister is interested in going there (as you know, my family and I are in Florida right now), but I may not get the chance to see it. We're going to SeaWorld on the same dayótodayóand I take a notoriously long time at zoos, aquariums, and museums, so I'll probably stay there the whole day. Fortunately, I'm not too disappointed about it.

I had no idea Jurassic Park and Hogwarts were that close together.

: Any sightings of dragons, hippogriffs, or acromantulas among the dinosaurs?

Love the nature photos!

We were hoping to see a wild alligator while we were down here, but no such luck. We did have an awesome meeting with an anhinga, thoughóthe bird in the second-to-last picture.

I can't tell what kind of turtles those are…some kind of emydid, I'm sure. I'm guessing red-bellied (the kind that lays its eggs in alligator nests), painted, or Florida cooter. They're really cool, in any case.

About Sea World. I don¥t really know if I¥d like to go there. Sure, it¥s supposed to be very cool, but I heard that they don¥t treat the animals there in a good way. Not sure if it¥s true, but who knows..
