Sierra heard Luke's words, and at first, was going to brush the flyer off, but then he paused. "Wait a minute." He murmured, turning this over in his head. He pushed himself off the rock he had been sitting on, and turned to face the green flyer.

"And just what do you mean 'show him how I feel'?" he asked, raising a brow. "What are you driving at?" he asked, his curiosity piqued now.

"Well, I don't think Pterano is showing you the respect you so obviously deserve. Trying to replace you as Devon's father?" Luke tutted. "What a thing to do. Sometimes, it's best to let your fists do the talking. Otherwise, Pterano could just continue to walk all over you..."

He sighed. "Ah, but then you might drive Devon even further away. In that case, it might be better to just forgive Pterano. Maybe it'll show Devon that you've changed. I guess it depends what you want - respect, or your son. I'll leave you alone to think about it."

As he sauntered out of the cave, Luke snickered. It would be interesting to see what Sierra decided to do.

Fury smiled hearing the praise Harper was receiving and nodded his head in agreement as he let go of Harper and replied, "They're right Harper. Because of you, I don't feel so alone now. I thought that there was no more kindness here in the Mysterious Beyond."

Fury's eyes widened as he realized he could hear his belly making noise. He gave a nervous laugh as he asked sheepishly "Does anyone know where I can find some crawlers? I'm... kinda hungry."

"Yeah... yeah!" Sierra exclaimed, gnashing his teeth and getting off of the rock he had been sitting on. "I SHOULD smack that dirty backstabber around! He hasn't been showing me any respect! Stealing my son like that! You're right!" he started striding for the cave entrance, then stopped as Luke went on.

"Wait a minute... smashing Pterano in the face might get my son angry at me? What business is it of his?" he asked, as Luke started to leave the cave. "Ugh... so my son MIGHT forgive me? Well this is just great." he murmured. "So now what I do I do?" He decided to go for a flight, and see if he could figure it out whilst slowly wandering over towards Pterano's position. He jumped of the edge of the cave, and began flying in an aimless direction, not sure yet where he was heading, only that he'd generally wind up with Pterano... and Devon, at the conclusion.

(Uh oh, things aren't going good for Sierra. Looks like he's about to go and hurt Pterano)

Pterano chuckled. "Of course! Just fallow me!" With that, he lead every one to the forest, making absolute sure there was no vicious sharpteeth around.

"Well help ya out too, Fury" Harper said as they followed Pterano over to this forest, "we know just how to find ground crawlers from when we helped another glider friend of ours, Guido, find some".

Petrie nodded, "Yeah, him help me fly better for Day of the Flyers" the hatchling smiled before his smile fell to a frown as he brought this up. "Me still wish you could have been there for our Day of the Flyers" he told Pterano.

"Me too, dear nephew," Pterano sighed in disappointment. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you..." He hung his head in shame as harsh memories began to take over. He sure wished he was there to protect his nephew. In fact, he was surprised his nephew was even talking to him.

As Fury flew behind Pterano, Petrie and Harper he gasped aloud and almost stopped flying completely as he replied with a rather harsh tone. "W-wait... I MISSED THE DAY OF THE FLYERS?!" He then quickly flapped his wings to keep up the others. "It's been... so long. I've been alone, so of course I missed the most important day for a flyer... figures." he then sighed and cast a sad look down to the ground below him. His belly rumbling only worsened his already saddened mood.

"The day of the flyers?" Luke said as he beat his wings hard to catch up with the others. "I've never seen it myself - sounds like too much hard work." Glancing up at Fury, he added; "You could always go see it when it's next on."

As Pterano frowned, Petrie flapped up onto his shoulder, "i-it ok, uncle" he said, "me just tell you all about it" he gave a small smile before looking kind of shy of something like it, "Me kinda change it all up".

Harper laughed, "Yeah and you're the only hatchlingI know who could get away with it too", she had to admit though, Petrie getting them out of the formal flight formations and into just free flying had been fun. A part of her was glad Pterano hadn't been there, since much as she would have really liked it too she and the others hadn't been the easiest on Petrie during the stress of it all.

"Aw Fury" she flapped over to land next to him with a smile, "Well...I'm sure we could...somehow get word to the judged how good you are, since I'm sure you are good aren't you" she encouraged tried to think up something to help but wasn't good at coming up with ideas like this, it was more what Petrie and his friends did, but she had promised to be Fury's friend and help him and she wanted to.

Fury looked confused for several moments as he thought about what Harper had just said. THen he shook his head and began to luagh, and he laughed for several minutes with tears of joy running down his face. He then turned to face Harper again after his laughing had settled down, and he replied, "Oh, I can fly alright... in fact... I'm sure I could fly circles around you, Petrie and your uncle." he said with a joyous almost challenging tone in his voice. "So, any of you up for a race?" he asked with a smile.

Rinkus of course fully heard Devon, and glanced over at Jared now, taking his tail in his hands and wringing it a bit, something he subconsciously did when he was agitated, nervous, or excited. The pink rhamphorhynchus tried to act as if he hadn't fully heard though, but kept his ears peeled intently in Jared's direction.

Sierra meanwhile, was off flying about, angrily slapping at tree branches and trying to work out just what he was going to do when he confronted Pterano. He was smacking leaves away, swatting branches aside, and generally picking fights with defenseless pieces of wood. He wouldn't have this! Not at all! He couldn't stand for this much longer, but he was only grateful that he was out of sight of the others at the moment.

"I mean, if you do," Devon continued, totally not noticing that Rinkus could hear him. "You should really tell him how you feel about him. I did that with Pterano and he and I don't regret a thing..." the blue flyer couldn't help but smile at the sky at the memory.

"You could..." Harper laughed at what she heard Fury say, "Hey I happen to be very good at following along in formation" she said back, just playing and returning some of his challenge. "and after Petrie showing us a bit about that free style flying, well you're on mister" she grinned. "Come on Petrie!" she turned to her brother.

Petrie frowned a bit, not sure if his skills were up to being put to the test like this, in an even friendly competing, and after he knew what his siblings got like when he embarrassed them, though luckily Harper had kept a lot of verbal comments on her disappointment to herself during the Day of the Flyers. "Well...me guess..." he said.

Fury grinned proudly as he spread his wings and crouched low to the ground. "I'm ready whenever you two are!" he commented with a toothy grin to Harper and Petrie. "And don't worry, I know you'll beth will be more than able to keep up with me." he said almost as an afterthought, but figured it would be good sportsmanship to offer a few kind words before the race began.

"Me not..." Petrie muttered to himself about Fury's last statement. With another giggle at her brother, Harper grabbed Petrie's other wing, she'd pull him along if he didn't come. "Come on Petrie" she said with a grin, "One, two, three!" she gave the fair count off before they took off, of course letting go of Petrie as soon as they jumped so that he could fly as they took off.

***I'm gonna ask Rinkus if he and I can go fart together in a private cave that's near Pterano's cave. I'm sorry if you think it's gross. But I really would sit down and have fun farting with Rinkus if I were an LBT rhamphorhynchus. This is gonna be REALLY funny!! We're just having fun, and it'll give Rinkus and I a chance to bond a little.***

Jared looked at Devon, and smiled. "Ok, Devon. I'll go over there and tell Rinkus."

Jared walked over, right up to the pink rhamphorhynchus. He was very nervous and worried that Rinkus would accept him for his uncontrollable farting problem. The tan rhamphorhynchus couldn't help it when he let loose farts unexpectedly.

then Jared spoke to Rinkus, smiling and wringing his tail.

"Rinkus, you've been such a nice flyer to me so far. I really like you. You've helped me feel better and calmed me down when I get very worried. I really like it that you're pink. I've never seen a pink long-tail flyer before, you're very unique.

And i'm so glad you'll give me a massage tonight before bed after I masssage you first, Then, the tan flyer got nervous and trembled a little.

"But, you see R-rinkus, there's a problem that I have that I haven't really told you or Devon that I can't help.... You see, it's my farting problem, I fart a bunch, sometimes and I can't control it. It just, happens... I can't help being a stinky flyer!"

Then Jared leaned his head on Rinkus's pink belly, and sobbed.

*Sniff!* I'm sorry, Rinkus. I can't help it or control it. I'm quite a stinker sometimes. . I hope you don't mind."

"I just feel so terrible and ashamed." said Jared, crying on Rinkus's belly. Then, his heart swelled up. "You've been such a great friend for me.. and.... and...

You're kinda like a dad to me, Rinkus!

You care for me, look out for me, and try to calm me down when i'm scared and nervous. We have a few things in common. You like to gorge yourself with fish, and so do I. I want to get a big, fat belly just like you."

Then, Jared got a thought, and asked Rinkus.

"I tell you what Rinkus, can we PLEASE do this? Can we go find a place to sit down right now and just..fart?, C'mon. if we do it together, I won't be so sad anymore and I won't be so ashamed, either."

"Pretty please, Rinkus? We'll be away in privacy from Pterano and the other flyers!" said Jared, giving Rinkus a big, warm, hug!

Devon couldn't help but smile at the strange, yet beautiful father son moment. It reminded him so much of when he told Pterano how he felt about him and how much he truly loved him. And speaking of Pterano...

Pterano did his best to fallow the hatchlings. They were so fast, that he was panting uncontrollably on the way. "Slow down, kids!" he shouted. "Uncle's not as young as he used to be!"
