My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic RP?

So, after geeking out on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic all weekend, I decided that we need a MLP roleplay on here.
I have a few basic premises for plot set up, and I'd like to get a vote once I get some interest on here.

I may be interested. Would you prefer it be close to the show where likely the characters will be mainly or all 1 gender. Like on the show their all girls, with only Spike being the only boy and he's not always around.

I was gonna try to get a little bit more of a balance going. Add OC's and all.

The basic Plot I had in mind was that Celestia has been taken by...something, the elements of harmony are rendered unusable, and that a new group has to go rescue Celestia with the help of Luna. And maybe the mane six.
Though that wouldn't probably start until later in.

FIM is a pretty amazing show in my opinion and I do happen to have one OC in mind.

Hopefully, we'll have enough OC's to make them the main main characters.
But the cast from the show will play a big part, too.

The only oc idea I have is maybe a unicorn pony. not sure of a name or the character's gender. Need to work on the character a bit more to get some detail.

Not sure if I would make a 2nd oc or not. If so It would likely be a pegasus pony.

Also can folks be non ponies? We've seen a griffon in one episode and there is Spike, a baby dragon. Though those 2 species don't seem to be very common since we've not seen others. Just 2 adult dragons.
