The Land Before Time WD Fanart Contest

Hello everyone, and welcome to The 2nd Annual The Land Before Time WD Fanart Contest! I am your host, pokeplayer984!

Let's just cut right to the chase, and I'll give out any and all details for the contest.

Where the Contest Takes Place

This year, the contest takes place at none other than THE most popular fanart site on the net, deviantART. Now, does this mean you need an account in order to submit your entry? Not necessarily, but having one would make the whole process a lot easier. However, for those that don't want to or can't get one, I have a way to help out with that.

Before I get to that though, let's get to the rules.

Rules

1. ALL entries must be of The Land Before Time.

2. You can submit as many entries as you wish and they can be as old as you like.

3. The entries can be made from any format you wish. Be it GIMP, Photoshop, Paint, etc., it won't matter. If it's The Land Before Time, it'll be allowed.

4. No PORN or hateart allowed under any circumstances.

5. The theme does not matter. Make it whatever you wish.

6. All entries must be submitted by July 31, 2011. No exceptions will be made.

Where to Submit

You must submit them to the following Group Channel.

#TLBTWDFanart

If under any circumstances you cannot submit your work, contact me or one of the other admins of the group (I'll be holding auditions for that soon.) and we will submit it for you. (Giving you full credit for the work you have done, of course.)

Voting Process

Voting will start August 1st and go for 2 weeks. The biggest thing is that I will not be voting at all, rather everyone else will. They shall be the ones to decide the winner in the end, not me.

Prizes

Oh, did I forget to mention there are prizes this year? Shame on me! Anyways, yes, there are prizes involved. 4 to be exact. They are the following.

3rd-place runner-up: The Land Before Time Storybook

2nd-place runner-up: The Land Before Time Soundtrack CD

1st-place runner-up: The Land Before Time Collector's Edition Laserdisc

Grand Prize: SECRET! (Not telling, everyone!

)

Can you explain how to load up a picture to the group? There is only the submit-button at the top of the page.

It's actually quite simple.

You just click on the "Submit" button provided and fill out the information that pops up.

If you want to submit a piece of your work that's already on the site, just go to your profile, click the item you want to submit, click on the "Submit to a Group" button on the right side of the page and fill out the information.

Of course, these steps only work if you are logged in as a member of the deviantART site. (This is for the site itself, not the group) If you are not a member of the site, you can register to become one (Which is fast, very easy and totally free.) or you can contact me and I'll submit it for you. (Making sure to give you full credit for it.)

I uploaded an image but when I click the "Submit to a Group"-button the message

"Sorry, you do not have permission to submit artwork to this group."

appears.

Just wanted to mention: I myself won't participate, actually, I can't participate as I will be away for awhile. So there is a great chance for you to win!

I wish all the participants good luck and have fun creating great art!

Just because you won't be around for a while doesn't mean you CAN'T enter. You could enter a piece of work that you've already done in advance and see how well that competes.

After all, I am allowing it in the rules.

Yeah, but didn't I promise not to participate in the next one? I can't remember who recommend me to do so, but I think it would only be fair towards others to give them a fair chance.

Okay, I just checked the channel, and this one guy named MCsaurus put in a whopping 48 entries. :blink:

Don't worry though, the large amount does NOT by any means guarantee him a win. After all, the voting rules will make sure that even those who don't do many of them have just as fair of a chance to win the top prize. You can't win by sheer numbers in this competition.

I've decided I'll try to draw something for this contest too, even though I haven't really done anything in a long time. I used to draw in high school art class, and my teacher thought it was kinda good. (That was a few years ago, mind you XD)

Yes! I finally completed my first drawing and added it!

I don't think it's the best though. I'm just not good with computer drawing tools. I'll add more as soon as I am done.
