The miner adjusted his helmet. "We'll meet you in the staging area."

The sound of footsteps echoed about as the workers headed to the staging area to get their equipment ready."

The girls were later eating at the hotel's breakfast buffet. As they got their insane portion sizes worth of food, Kitty wanted to comment on something.

"I know this Ozai guy is their king, but how come his face is EVERYWHERE," she said to Dixie and Arlene.

He went to get ready himself. he waved to some of the other miners he saw that were walking in the same direction he was, including Terra Fin.

The miners were in the staging area and all geared up. The staging area had all the equipment hanging on pegs with the worker's name on it.

One of the miners handed Spike his powered face mask and backpack.

Captain Carson returned to get her captain's hat and a large cup of tea.

She slowly sipped it as she watched everyone milling about. Many of the other patrons of the hotel appeared to be racers; indeed, there was even a sign that advertised the race/obstacle course.

"So, is everyone ready to head out to the ship and make some last minute checks?" she asked between sips of her tea.

- Tigress, Dixie, Kitty and Arlene headed out of the heya, Arlene holding on to a flyer for an Ozai Art class. Flash was riding on Dixies shoulder, an impish grin on her face. the art studio was the other side of town.
Young Spyro, Old spyro, Cynder-W and cynder-S were each engaged in a match against locals of their weight class. Being quadripeds, they were having a difficult time of it. Cynder-W had lost two matches, one from scratching her opponent, and the other from using magic during the match. likewise each of the Spyros and Skylands had taken lumps and losses from the more experienced locals. but since they only needed 10 wins to qualify, it didnt matter how long it took to get those 10 wins.
_ kiyo currently was mixing drinks in a blender designed to look like Ozais head. the bar was filling up with customers as it often did as the qualifying for the sumo flights ended and the main draw drew near.
vitani and Kiara were sparring with Vushu who had kindly agreed to test their mettle. Vushu laughed as she pushed Vitani out of the ring. ' that bout only lasted 8 seconds! good thing we were not playing for keeps, or you'd be in a huge hole in just the first round. ' the first rounds are the easiest, normally.' Kiara had done even worse, Vushi had beaten her in just 5 seconds.' Vushu sighed "i can tell you girls are inexperienced at sumo. you only have a small ring to work with, and you cant use your claws to scratch or hurt your opponent. its all about legs and upper body strength."

- sly was running rooftop to rooftop getting the lay of the town. his largest the ozai Musuem of Mawashis' was just ahead.

- Little Dixie was showing a replay of Steeles last match on a scren. the match took just 10 seconds, so it ran in a loop.' see how graceful he is which stries and his gut-strike?' She simpered.
- Yes they are ready. field isnt set yet. Still have about 30 slots to fill' said Murgen, a huge polar bear. " Mostly in the lightweight division. probably will those newcomers whose ship crashed most likely. Few of them can sumo though, they'll be cannon fodder and little more.

Ms. Swimmer grunted as she was bodily thrown out of the ring by a massive Bison. She dusted herself off and headed off to get a drink. She had racked up a fair number of wins but a seemingly equal number of losses.

The Sauropholus poured herself some steaming green tea from a teapot shaped like a sumo. A massive Brown Bear placed a paw on her shoulder.

"Do not be discouraged. For a newcomer to the sport, you are performing admirably," he said.

"Thanks," Ms. Swimmer said.

Mr. Bigmouth wasn't doing any better. He had won two matches but had lost four. Despite the training he had undergone, his lack of talent for athletics was showing.

He had lost his last match when he tripped over his opponent's feet and fell out of the ring.

Zachary was sitting on the sidelines of the ring. He had been disqualified from one match when he punched his opponent in the face.

He sneezed as a plume of dust came up from the arena.

Captain Carson nodded. She walked around the Aestorican Glider. The ship's sleek golden hull was devoid of any damage. She inspected the wings and control surfaces as well. They too were untouched.

The woman boarded the ramp and into the spacious bridge. As if sensing her thoughts, the ornate brass cogs and gem studded control surfaces shimmered slightly and reconfigured themselves to the sleek consoles akin to those found on the Spire of Winter.

She sat in the pilot's seat and looked over the status display in the upper corner of the windshield. Of course, the ship's gem-mana reactor was offline.

"Excuse me," Captain Carson said. "I'm going to need someone working with the ship's systems like in the engine room and dealing with repairs."

Captain Carson shook her head. "I believe he assumed that I would know how to pilot this vessel. Nevertheless, I shall contact him."

She radioed Stripetail. "Stripetail, this is Captain Carson. I am in need of one extra crew member to serve as the engineer. In addition, I cannot find the instruction manual for the ship."

The servants all gathered up their supplies and headed out of the library. Many of the patrons were glad to see them go as they not only monopolized the library's space and resources, they also abused the other patrons and staff.

"Well, sir, the zol research has come off quite well. Also, some of the men aboard the ship have captured some sort of magical creature called a 'Djinn'," one of the servants said.

Sara was relaxing in the hot tub with her head reclined back and one of her arms under the water and the other caressing Tarrax's side.

"This is very comfortable and large enough to fit all of us." She said smiling. Not an easy thing to find on some worlds or places." She said.

She looked around the area. "and you can get snacks, drinks and food brought here as well, very nice service. Some places with a hot tub only do the hot tub only." She said.

kiyo was rapidly pouring drinks and serving ' Ozai specials' for entrees, whghich were bigger than normal mawashii portions., tray afer tray of food went out to the tables,as customers dined on the snacks.
- the girls entered the Building where the art class was being held. a large Hyena sumo was teaching the class - which was mostly females- and she had a large drawing on an easel next to her ' Um.. I hope we arent interrupting Arlene said she stuck her head " We're here for the class- we have this flyer " oh! please! do come in.. this is just a beginning class on how how to draw the great Ozai. ' the hyena whose name was Musha said .just take a seat on the mt over there'

The group boarded the ramp that led into the Phoenix. The scent of burnt metal and smoke hung in the air.

A man clad in armor that had been scorched and melted by some great force approached the group. "Sir, we managed to subdue one of the Mars Djinn. He says his name is 'Pepper'."

"Copy that." The air in front of Captain Carson shimmered and a surprisingly thin manual appeared in front of her. She opened the manual and began reading.

Several minutes later, she tucked the manual away and fastened herself into the extremely comfortable chair. She pressed the intercom on the console. "All right, com check," she said.

The miners exited out onto the volcanic lava fields again.

Several miners were skimming chunks of ore off the lava lakes while a skiff containing lighter metal ores headed back to the refinery.

Spike's radio crackled. "Spike, we're opening a new mine today. We could use your help."

"Let's ride." Captain Carson. She then activated the intercom. "Fred, has the ship's reactor reached its optimal magic saturation or are you still preparing it?

She watched as some of the other ships began to rise into the sky and head for the race course.

A scorched and blackened cage containing a small reddish sprite with a peppercorn shaped head was hauled out on a repulsorsled inside a specially fireproofed testing area. Scorch marks and small craters as well as puddles of water marred the area,

"As you can see, we had some difficulty subduing him," the man said. He then turned to Pepper. "Now are you going to show our boss what you can do or do I have to get the hose again?"

"F--- you!" Pepper spat. A flaming blob of liquid landed at Chong's feet in response.
