Insane Cafe 4: The Insane Frontier

STripetail's shield had reached over all the planet by this point, and to syustain the shield stripetauil castyt spells that pulled mana out of the ground to form what looked like purple pillars.  tonfon had 3 such pillars, and this was also true of the other cities. stripetail slumped onto a chair sitting in front of a house, and pressed his paws to his temples he pressed his communicator bracelet ' everyone,  my shield now fully covers the planet and  shjould be able to deflect any meteiors that you miss. destroy as much you can, but if you miss a few , my shield will stop them from hitting the ground. still, these metors have done a lot of dam,age, although not as bad as it could ghave been, thank the eternals. if you  grow tioo tired to do any more , head back to the ship, and i'll join you once the meteors stop falling. Stripetail out.

Major Lockie flew back to the starship when he had expended all his ammunition. The group of saboteurs followed behind him and quickly darted behind a repulsorsled as the living plane summoned several workers to rearm and refuel him.

Emperor Unan looked around the grotto. It was deep enough to be sheltered from the meteors but the earth still shook. Lady Hinechou was on the stony floor of the grotto and her hands clasped in prayer.

"It seems like we have managed to escape," Emperor Unan said. "But what of your people?"

Rainbow and Lt. Martin used their last laser-guided missiles to split an enormous asteroid in half. Both of them then used their autcannons to push it into the solar wind below the planet where the radiation would vaporize it.

the rest of our group is in the ship ' kopa said as he took a seat on a rock, sweat running down his face. ' they are safe, for the time being.' how long that will last, i dont know' he sighed." for now, we stay put.
 tarrax incinerated a huge meteor and landed in a large crater ' well done, old friend' said a voice tarrax recognized. he looked above and saw samanor flying about him ' lord Samanor. to what do i owe the displeasure?' sharp tongued and insolent as always Lord tarrax. the ages havent softened you or changed you. Good to see some things dont change, no matter the era. you and your mortal friends may have survived the barrage, but my master is not through with this world yet.  there is one more strike coming, from a planet even larger than this one> '; you're sending an entire world against this one. '  tarrax's face filled with rage. Samanor grinned. "of course. if my master can control an  mere asteroid belt, he can do the same for a planet. unfortunately, the impact willcompletely destroy this world, magic or no.mass usually decides which wins planetary collisions, that and angle of impact.  i estimate that the impactor will arrive in two weeks time. before then its gravity will start to warp this world.. time is fleeting, and you and i both know this, only too well betty hurry' samanaor said before vanishing in veil of black smoke.

- the dragons headed back to the ship one by one. cynder-W helped cynder-s make her way to winterville, while the spyros cracked wise about the bruises and cuts they both had

- gabuna and agumina were walking around the park trying to get some recuperative quiert after the ordeal of evacuating everyone..' glad this thing is nearly over ' agumina said ' recovery is going t take a long time.. and we'll be on to the next planet soon i'll wager ' gabuna said as she walked slowly.

Emperor Unan nodded. "I see. We can do nothing but wait it seems." He sat down and began reciting a Tonfonese prayer.

Captain Fairchild's ammunition ran dry as he pushed another large asteroid off course. He headed back for the starship just as Major Lockie exited.

The living AC-130 shattered a large stony asteroid with a 105 mm cannon shell. Two of the shuttles flew after it and pulverized the larger fragments. They let the smaller ones smash against Stripetail's shield and vaporize.

"Lord Stripetail, this is Rainbow. We're heading back to rearm. Major Lockie is doing his best but he needs some additional support." The living F-22 headed back to the starship along with her living F-16 companion.

Tyrell ate some of the tofu soup. He was with some Spirarians who were busy helping set up tents in Winterville Park.

Ms. Swimmer had volunteered to assist in medical care with the Tonfonese.

The saboteurs had managed to sneak into the life support area.

"The f---!? It's like a jungle in here!" One of the saboteurs looked around the room. There were bushes, dwarf fruit trees and even tanks filled with algae and seaweed. It looked nothing like the life support systems found on other starships.

It was then they noticed a locked door that was near one of the seaweed harvesting tanks.

Little did they know that was the tank that Nick and Dr. Kerzach was working on.

[Nick22]

Nick heard the door open- which was supposed to be locked- and turned around. " who
s in here?' He called out, and headed over to a bench where he kept his gun. " Nick was a good shot with a firearm, although by no means was he a solider. " we have Company Kerzach " he whispered. " " Whoever is in here, you need to leave" He called out." This is a restricted area,  and you are trespassing. You have 15 seconds to leave" he called out, putting a tight grip on his gun. It was a semi-bluff on his part

_ Understood Rainbow> most of my team , is headed back as well, if they arent already on the ship. this has been a very severe test over the past day or so, since the attack bewgan' Stripetail replied " My shield should stop all but the biggest rocks. if you are at your limit, return to the ship. We have thousands of refugees to take care of, and the town of wintervillewas  not designed for so many residents.

 Dulcy Samia and Korin, reached The Spire, and landed in a port area, all of them were exhausted from deflecting and blasting meteors. Aphelion landed in the hangar shortly afterward. Clanbk had activated the " sleep' function ogf the ship, which consisted of sleeping gas and reverting to autopilot.

 Dixie helped Cynder-W and Cynder _S make thier way through a hallway. So.. Tired" Skylands moaned " Can barely move my wings.." We'll have to make do with what open space we can scrounge up'  Tigeress said coming up to them, Carrying Agumina and Gabuna on her back. Both digimon were semi-sleeping

Captain Fairchild taxied into the hangar. One of his wings had been torn off by a meteor and he was covered in what looked like bullet holes but were actually caused by the high-speed meteors. His hydraulic fluid "blood" had caked into a viscous tarry substance that kept it from leaking further. This coagulation system relied on the interaction between the hydraulic fluid and the metal components of his systems.

"We're all going to need repairs," he said. He slowly rolled over to the a spot in the hangar, being careful not to run over the Tonfonese refugees.

Major Lockie, Rainbow and Lt. Martin flew in after. All of them had significant micrometeorite damage all over their bodies and had flown back to the ship on little more than fumes.

Dr. Zanasiu, Zachary and Deimos who were with the shuttle crew destroying the asteroids were slumped over in the seats of a dune buggy as they tried to find a place to sleep.

Dr. Kerzach opened his enchanted switchblade and peeked out from behind the cover of the seaweed tank. He scowled; no Spirarian ever wore a spacesuit aboard the ship. That and the spacesuits were not Spirarian issue.

He could say nothing as several bullets whizzed past his head.

"Go!" one of the saboteurs exclaimed. He gestured for two of them to flee while he and another saboteur held off or killed the two workers. He raised his rifle and fired several shots at Dr. Kerzach and Nick.

Tarrax entered the ship after the girls. he had some new holes in his wings. but nothing healing balm wouldnt repair. " The Barrage is over, but  we are not out of the woods yet." he said to the others, As Scooby, Agumon, Gabumon, the two spyros and Tiger approached. " You goots be kidding " scooby said " i am not the type to joke about such things" Tarrax replied, looking down at the Great dame " We just endured a huge barrage of meteors, but worse is yet to come. Mertaviius is sending  a whole planet against us next. Moving a planet is simple for a mage of his caliber. We will need to evuacuate the entire planet>"
 just.. How long do we have, before that happens?' Tigress askred in a small voice. " two weeks or so. I know, because Lord samanor, Martavius ' dragon and partner in terror,  told me so. He may be a black-hearted wyrm, but he is not a liar or a fool."

The lions are still down  there' Dixie said , her eyes white in terror. " We need to get them out of there. We cant possibly house millions of the planets residents aboard this ship. the town is completely overrun with the people of Tonfon, there simply is no more room. And we cant possib;'y destroy an entire planet, which is what would need to happen in order to survive. "

There are ways of destroying a world but they require energy, massive, enormous amounts of concentrated energy. Normally, only the gravity of a star , a larger planet, or a black hole can destroy them. We do not have those things, so we'll have to find out another means of doing so."

 Nick Dove to the ground as bullets whizzed over his head" return Fire Kerzach! We don';t know how many of them there are! He said , and he fired off a number of bullets in the general direction of where the bullets were coming friom.
_ Chong paced around his 'office' on the Phoenix, waiting for the prisoners Karis and amiti to be brought to him. The fact they had been able to reciover from injuries that would have been fatal under normal circumstances intrigued Him. perhaps knowing thier secrets could prove useful down the road.

"Should we sit still for now or look around the cave?" Kiara asked Kovu, Kopa, and Vitani, "Everything is so hectic now I'm not sure what the best course of action is."

Spire of Winter

Dr. Kerzach did not carry a gun but he simply tossed his enchanted switchblade at one of the shooters who was focusing on Nick. It merely bounced off their armored space suit.

Water began pooling around his feet as the bullets pierced the seaweed tank.

"I'll go get help!" Dr. Kerzach grabbed his portable radio and pressed the talk button. "This is Kerzach!" he shouted over the gunfire. "We spotted at least four intruders. They are wearing space suits. We do not know their purpose but they are hostile!"

Phoenix

Karis and Amiti were roughly thrown onto the floor in front of Chong. Two guards armed with rifles stood by.

Amiti stood up and looked Chong in the eye. "You may take our equipment and Djinn but you will not take our dignity! Our friends will be here and you shall regret your foolish actions!"

"Silence! You will not speak to Captain Chong in such a manner!" The guard slammed the butt of his rifle into Amiti's back, knocking him down to his knees. Amiti grunted but glared hatefully at Chong.

"Kneel!" The other guard smacked the back of Karis's legs, forcing her down to the ground.

thays enough.' Chong raised a hand imperiously. I Have a Few questions to ask of you. How, exactly were you able to survive those gunshot wounds? Those shots, to the head and chests, should have killed you almost immediately. Yet, here yiou are. also,. hoew do i control these djinn, to make them do tasks for me. Tell me these things, abnd you will good food and drink, and perhaps even short walks around the ship. Under Extreme Supervision, of course. Refuse, and you will get nothing, and my guards will treat you as they please" Chong said, his tone turning cold..

 ARlene  and Luca led the kids through the bustle of traffic and noise as the refugees were settled in. pretty much every room had a bed reserved for a refugee family, sand those who had rented a room prior to this were asked to share a single bed.' lets hope the movie theater isnt full ' Luca said As Mona and flash got rides on her back. "  And hopefully the movies they are showing are good. Dont want to waste time and money if the film stinks.

 a meeting room at the wintervile inn had been set aside for command meetings, and thus was kept clear of any refugees. there were chairs and sofas pushed in, and Scooby and his friends manage to reach this room without collapsing, but only barely so. We're here stripetail ' scooby spoke into his ring, as Angel and Stitch came in. Angel looked like sghe was sleepwalking  while stitch had a big grin on his face. ratchet and Angela were rubbing sleep from thier eyes. ' I could use a big power nap" angela said, and Cynder-W grabbed a seat on a couch and examined her wings for damage.
_ we should explore the cave, just so we can pass some time.' Kopa said " we need to get in contact with the others at some poimnt too, check in to see how they are faring.

 Nick kept returning fire, hoping one of his bullets would hit his opponents, or at least come close enough to drive them off.

One of Nick's bullets cracked the faceplate on the intruder's spacesuit but didn't kill him.

Dr. Kerzach was trying to flank the two soldiers and hopefully stab them through a vulnerable section of their armored spacesuits.

Stripetail and Captain Carson's radios went off at the same time. Mr. Bigmouth entered the meeting room. The entire front of his body was slightly reddened but it was much better than before from the burns.

"Has anyone seen Nick and Kerzach? They're supposed to be back with the food," he said.

Ms. Swimmer entered the meeting room. She set down a tray of hot steaming tea. She yawned as she grabbed a cup of tea. "Everyone doing good?"

Tyrell was looking at the virtual viewscreen in the gunner's compartment. He watched as the smaller asteroids exploded under the laser fired by the ship's point defense gun. He focused and raised his arm as four Venus Djinn materialized and turned into yellow spheres of light...and nothing happened.

He swore as he realized he needed to be directly in the environment to use his Summons.

Captain Carson was busy piloting the great starship out of the asteroid storm. She was so focused on piloting the craft that she didn't hear the radio.

Amiti glared at Chong but said nothing. His dignified air of haughtiness hinted at his royal lineage as the prince of Ayuthay.

"You don't," Karis replied. "Djinn obey you of their own will. As for the other information. We will not speak of it."

One of the troopers whispered to Chong. "Chong, do we have the ability to suppress their magic?"

[Nick22]

No, we do not have that ability " Chong responded to the query while listening to the bare minimum of inform,ation Karis was wiling to divulge " So they decide whether to obey then? That will at the least provide me with something to study. So you refuse to tell me anything more.' Chong sighed "Well You did cooperate to a small degree, so my guards will leave you be for the time being.
 He motioned to a guard " Show them around the ship, before  you return them to their cells . then bring me some djinn so I may interact with them.."

I Havent seen them' Scooby said from his seat " I Imagine they must be busy " agumina said, as she tried to make herself comfortable on a sofa " we all have been. destroying those huge space rocks has been completely draining. i could use like a full day to cover." we don't have time for that" tarrax said " We have two weeks to evacuate the planet, and I'm not sure how we are going to do that>' why not teleport them?  Young Spyro asked," Because teleporting gets harder and requires more energy to do  the more  folks you teleport at the same time. You can teleport 10 or 20 people with little issue , but 1000 people  is harder, 10000 is extremely hard and 1 million is virtually impossible absent  an incredibly powerful mage with time on his or her hands. I'm pretty sure the population of this planet is well above 1 million, so teleporting is not an option." Tarrax said.

We Need time to recover " Tiger said ' before we go off running around the planet helping the locals.' Time is of the essence, we cannot afford to squander too much time, but on the other hand rest is essential.  an Exhausted hero is little use to anyone, after all." Tarrax said looking down at the group of 16 gathered around him. Stripetail magicked himself into the room a few seconds later, his robes were wet with sweat and there was a look of strain on his face that none of them had even seen before. Even the great wizard, it seemed, had his limits. " Well done , everyone, on the evacuation of Tonfon. However, thats just 1 city, and I've been told the continent has around 5 million residents. 50000 down, 4, 950,000 to go."

We cant evacuate everyone in two weeks " Cynder said " realistically it would take months to move all of them." WE dont have months Cynder, my dear. " Stripetail said in a weary voice. In truth we dont even have two week. long before impact the strain from gravity will induce enormous volcanism on Weynard, covering most of the world in boiling hot magical lava from deep within the planet. Which will, of course make the planet unlivable until the volcanoes exhaust themselves. We have  8 or 9 days, by my calculations. Mertavius is not making it easy on me. But, then again,  he never does>" he said taking an open seat. " We will stay here forb the evening, as your hotel rooms are being used to house refugees." he said as he grabbed a cup of tea. His radio buzzed  with a message from Kerzach ' i'll send some of my team to asist he radioed " Just hold on an deal with the intruders as best you can until help arrives StRipetail pout.' he turned to his team " Kerzach and Nick are dealing with intruders in their part of the ship. I need 3 volunteers" he said ' Gabuna raised her claw, Along with Tigeress and Old spyro.' great. Get Going. They need reinforcements promoto." Spyro,  Tigress and Gabuna activated theior armor and headed out of the room.

Tyrell entered the meeting room. "We're not just going to be leaving Belinsk and the other major cities are we?"

Ms. Swimmer offered Stripetail some fresh tea to slake his thirst."If only we could open a portal somewhere to house the inhabitants," she said. "Or a pocket dimension."

Mr. Bigmouth shook his head. "Far too dangerous. Not to mention far too energy intensive." The Saurolophus let out a breath at hearing they had eight to nine days. "That rules out radioing Briggins for help. It'll take weeks to get a response."

"I'll speak to Captain Carson and see if we can hail any ships." Mr. Bigmouth headed out of the room and into the hotel lobby where he saw sleeping bags and cots lined up on the lobby. An elderly Tonfonese man was sleeping on the couch while a young Tonfonese couple slurped down a hearty meal of tofu soup.

"As you wish Captain Chong," a woman said, snapping a smart salute. She turned sharply on her heel and marched out of the office as she went to fetch some Djinn.

The guards saluted as they handcuffed Amiti and Karis. "Remember, no funny business!" one guard said as he pushed the two out of the office.

The office had once been Nick's office for the starship and the duo were shown what was left of the shopping mall.

"Beastmen?" Amiti asked as he watched a burly Rhino push a cart filled with ammunition

Of Course not " Stripetail said as he sipped his tea " Belinsk, in fact is the next city we will evacuate. We can contact Skylands and see if the residents will be willing to lend a hand. We'll need permission to set up connecting portals from Weynard though. We'll need to send someone to negotiate with Eon as far as how many residents he will accept.
- there is Skylands Academny ' Skylands said ' its huge, and easily holds thousands of students. We could send, maybe 5000 folks there' She offered.' Eon would need to sign off." Young Spyro replied. Hes the head master, after all."
_ theres the Digi world' Gabumon said " Digi world is full of dangerous digimon though, we dont want to put any of them at risk." agumon replied " we have 5 milion to relocate Agumon, we can barely hold 50000 on this ship, and there are 100 times that on Weynard.

tHeres toon world " scooby said " its much safer now that Gabrirels been dealt with. We could send a good number there>" We can have the residents pick where they go , until the threat from Mertavius is past." Dixies said " we can send a few Briggins way, a few hundred or so. " We can contact Briggins using this' Stripetail said as he pulled oiut a long green crystal " this crystal speeds up transmissions, so contacting someone takes much less time. 1 or 2 days,depending on the length of message. I'm sure briggins will be fine with hosting some refugees, hes done it before. Of course, They will need some kind of payment, such as gems or coins, or whatever.

Nani wAs helping a pair of young kids settle in to the camp by helping them play a game using magical dolls. Shaggy was trying out some local Tonfonese food that a young Tonfonese couple had offered him , and was slurping down some broth- which turned his face purple. " not bad ' He said suppressing a large burp. The portions on Weynard were more normal sized compared to the enormous portions on Mawashii.
_ Beastman? the guard watching Amiti sciffed " No, that thing is called a Phino. they tend to be used for manual labor due to their strenth , thick hides, and thick skulls " he laughed at his own joke. " seriously tough, don;t piss them off, you get hit by a rhino and you FEEL it.

(Phoenix)

The Rhino in question was an ex-con spacer who had been imprisoned for killing a noble after said aristocrat insulted him. He noticed Amiti staring at him.

"What are you looking at?" he growled.

"I apologize," Amiti said. "I meant no offense."

The Rhino snorted. "Yeah right. You're one of them prissy nobles who demands everyone suck them off." He shoved Amiti to the ground, making him fall on his rear thanks to him being unable to break the fall.

The guards with them chuckled at the display. The Rhino continued on his path.

Chong had switched from slave labor to hiring unsavory characters from shady bars and space stations as the slaves were too prone to revolt or just be a pain.

The woman returned with a cage containing a Mercury Djinn stolen off Amiti. She placed the cage on Chong's desk. "Your Djinn, Captain."

Mr. Bigmouth returned to the room. He didn't hear the end of Stripetail's conversation with Tyrell.

He then turned to Stripetail. "I was unable to speak to Captain Carson as she seems to be busy trying to keep the ship from getting hit by the asteroids. However, the ship's first mate informed me that Rigel Interstellar Mining Corporation has some mining outposts within a thousand or so light years."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Ms. Swimmer replied.

[Nick22]

Chong gazed at the blue djinn with interest and let the djinn out of the cage. ' so master djinn, show me your power' He said gesturing with a hand and removing the chain collar around the creatures neck. ' show me, and i shall grant you favor. Refuse, and back to your cage you go. Understand?"

 we really dont have much of a choice ' Stripetail mused " We have large populations to resettle and a short time to do it in.. Where is the cloest Rigel outpost to our current location?' he asked. Dixie got up from her seat abnd was covering the sofas with blankets and pillows. a ew of the counchs had foldout beds, she opened those out and made sure there was enough room for people to move around. Arlene luca and the kids will be stasying with us for the evening. that makes about 20 or so " she said stifling  a yawn. 'I could definitely use some food, like fish or steak.."

 Stripetailk gestured and created one of his never endiung magical feasts, the kind where  you could requrest just about any food and it appeared in front of you and you ate your fill.

(Spire of Winter)

Mr. Bigmouth took some vegan chili from the table and sat down with Striptail. The Saurolophus took out his PDA from the messenger bag. He cleared his throat. The nearest one is planet RCL-221. According to the information provided, it is merely twenty light years away. The ship's jump drive could get us there in under a minute. However, I do not recommend sending the refugees there as the mine harvests radioactive materials. The safest one is SRS-890. That one is 100 light hears away and  has a Martian-type atmosphere."

The Mercury Djinn looked and Chong and shivered. The malice radiating off the mage was palpable. "If I do this," it said in a soft voice. "You won't harm Amiti? My name is Rime...I can seal an enemy's Psyenergy or as you call it, magic."

It was then it decided to be smart. It glowed blue as two glyphs overlapped Chong and then an arcane symbol formed over him.

[Nick22]

You do as I ask, and I will not harm him " chong freplied,  as the djinn began to show off its ability, Chongs magic reacted to it. You are strong, master Rime " Chong said, a small smile on his face.  Tell me, can you can create things out of thin air, or must you have something to work on?"

 Nick continued forinhg until his gun ran out of bullets, several of the bullets found their mark in the saboteurs arms, legs and shoulders.

How big is SRS-890? Stripetail asked ' We are going to need several different planets  to serve as safe havens. because frankly, we do not have any more room onboard this ship.." Angela spoke up. there are several planets in solana that could help.' she said

[Serris]

"SRS-890 has a thin unbreathable atmosphere but we may be able to set up temporary shelters similar to what the miners on Mawashi used." Mr. Bigmouth looked at his PDA. "It seems that the radius of the planet is approximately 2,000 kilometers."

Dr. Kerzach had successfully flanked the two saboteurs. He stabbed one of them through the neck joint of their armored space suit. The Cassowary then sprinted into the orchard and waited to ambush his pursuer.

Rime sighed as Chong promised not to harm Amiti. "I can cast spells that use the elements of water and ice."

"When will we get an opening to make it back on the ship?" Kiara asked her fellow lions, "It better be soon....."
