The cloaked figure looked among them, them, laughing a little to itself, undid the cloak that shrouded it, letting it fall to the ground.
It was indeed Eric. Or at least, most of him. Where his left eye had been, there was now only a carved ruby in it's place, and where his right arm once was, instead there glowed a magically-imbued gauntlet. Perhaps the most shocking thing, however, was that where there was no armor covering him, there was naught but bone. Elbows, knees, abdomen...all were simply exposed bones. Eric chuckled a little, looking away.
"Then...yes. It is me. Someone brought me back, gave me this sword...said it could make my body return gradually. I hope it's true. I can't...I don't feel anything like this. Not the wind, nor the chill...nor the touch of a loved one's hands..."
He sighed...
