The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"Should be interesting.  I wonder who will get the window seats."  Chaka said as she walked outside and looked over the horse and buggy from near the doorway.

"I would suggest those who are best at ranged attacks, and or have the best long range vision. " Walker said as he walked out a few seconds after Chaka did.

Chaka walked over to the buggy and walked inside.  She sat down near a window seat so she could see out, and cast a spell if any trouble should appear.

Walker delayed a bit to see if others of the group knew the buggy was there and waiting.

John entered next, followed by Asanii and then Feli.

"Hopefully Sacunda will be better than this forsaken place." John muttered.

Vaeria made her way to the buggy, smiling and hopping in, taking a seat next to Ashnii.
"Mmm...this is pretty comfy!  I like it~"
She purred happily...

"Well, there are the two of us." - Qa'Meret said as he got inside the buggy followed by Kyo. - "I am also looking forward to arrive to the next city in our voyage. So let's try to be optimistic and to hope for the best."

The kid was happy to be able to be in one of these vehicles. - "I am very happy this buggy is big enough for all of us." - Kyo felt relief since even his creatures were able to fit inside.

Taloc unenthusiastically shuffled into the gaudy looking drag-saddle on wheels, looking around a chilling stark interior with fully formed seats with pillows and arm rests. His wide fake kabuki smile couldn't hide how hard he was wrinkling his nose. Oh well. It was yet another task, he supposed. What didn't kill you made you stronger, after all.

He gave a teeth-gritted sigh that caused several of of the nearby passengers to quickly move to the farthest end of the buggy, and bumped his way over to one of the window seats, awkwardly trying to find a way to position his six foot tall battle hanmer in case he needed to quickly grab it.
'I'm overreacting, surely,' he thought to himself as he watched Kyo, Chaka, Ashnei, Vaeria and the others enjoying their seating arrangements. 'It's a tad degrading to be levied around in comfort like a legless corpse in a coffin trolley, yes, but who am I to complain at the expense of the comfort of my companions?'
Suddenly he felt a hand tapping him on the shoulder. It was a man dressed in the clothes as the buggy driver. "Sir," the man said. "I'm terribly sorry, but it's our strict policy to require a shirt for all of our passengers."
The Orc looked at him blankly, and then down at his massive scar and muscle strewn chest. "I didn't... I didn't pack a shirt." The attendant sighed. "Oh, what a mess, um..." And then the man snapped his fingers. "I believe we have a spare in the compartment that might fit you."
The Orc watched him ran off. When he came back, he wielded a horrifying yellow cloth shirt. "There we go! That should fit'cha!"
The Orc smiled at him. "Thank you very much," the Orc said through his stiff cheeks. "It's my job, sir. Happy to help. Oh! And it looks like you have someone to sit next to!" The attendant then got out of the way where, to the orc's supreme horror, the exact same bored looking food hall woman from the inn sat in the seat next to him. "Oh. Well well well, if it isn't hammer weilding meatitarian who doesn't tip," she said with a voice as dry as sandpaper. A muscle in face violently began to twitch, and Taloc strategically altered the position of his hammer so the spiky handled pointed at his chest. While he put on the bright yellow shirt and listen to the good made began reminding every excruciating moment where he had forgotten to tip, make the bed, or replace the candles from the inn, he took tremendous solace in the fact that all it would take was one collision from the buggy for the sharpened handle tip to be forced into his chest and end his miserable life.

Chaka took out one of her books, one of the smallest ones, and read it for a while, to help pass the time.  Putting it away after less then an hour.

Walker looked out the window, partially to pass the time, being curious of the surroundings, and also to keep watch for any trouble that may pop up.

"I do hope that this trip is uneventful." Chaka said.  "Though depending on how long it is it may not be." She said.

Qa'Meret took a lira from between his belongings and started practicing, playing no melody in special, but trying to get used to that instrument and forget, even if just for some moments, the feel of a sword in battle.

Kyo was half looking out from the window and half taking a look at his creatures, he remembers what Dru Essa told him about giving them names. - "Maybe this is a good time to try to figure out names for you guys." - the kid said to his creatures, which looked back at him with some level of curiosity.

Chaka looked over at the shirt.  "If you want I can change the color.  That's not to hard to do." She said.

The Orc looked to his companions, dropping the overly cherry smile.
"... Thank you for your offer," he said slowly, "But I can handle it. Really. It's just a shirt, after all."
"Just the ugliest shirt in the world," the woman next to him sighed dully. The orc's eyes widened slightly, and he smiled again. Misery strengthened a man-- it made them able to bear the unbearable. This... this new kind of misery was quite different from the gratifying miseries of survival and hardship, but that was simply because he had not grown accustomed to it. Why, for all he knew, he'd be captured in the future and put through some kind of sadistic torture mechanism similar to this. A wound to his pride and his peace rather than his body-- hadn't lord Malacath fallen more to his pride than by his own strength?
The woman next to him raised an eyebrow the massive Orc seemed to get excited about something he was thinking.
Taloc's eye twitched over his smile. "I'll be quite fine," he said assuringly. "Can you tell me more about where we're going?"

drussila sighed as he looked at the list of things she had to buy in Sacunda. ' night mist, meadberries, new curtains for room 203, a fresh supply of bloodwine, so much stuff to get..' she said as she went diown the list, and went through the gold she was give. ' ok i have 250 gold to buy all this, hopefully its enough..
-
nicyula gazed out the window at the passing scenery, they were passing through a forest  full of what looked like oak. but as the buggy passed through a scene of decay and ruin met thjhier eyes, a ruine castle loomed over the far hill, and the ground was red and bleak.. there was no sign of a town in the vicinity.. ' isnt this where Sacynda is supposed to be? Sed Nues asked Jur Mes " the tiowns inside the castle. ' not much to it these days, Sacunda is nought but a pale whisper of what it used to be '" is bestilla still trading there..Sed Nues asked, surprise on her face ' might be, she the one that sell armor? might be, armor get good coin. so she might still be in business.. Jur Mes replied..

As the cart made its way down the road, unknown to the occupants sitting inside it, a black shadow slunk along the ground behind them, though it was clearly not cast by anything nearby...

"This sure looks like a ghost-city..." - Kyo commented as he stood up from his seat and looked out of the window with childish curiosity, and then he looked back at Qa'Meret. - "Do you think the people of the city are safe?"

Qa'Meret stopped playing the lira as the city was in reach. - "I suppose we will figure it out soon, I can see we are reaching the castle's main gate, I guess most people should be inside."

The boy sighed. - "I hope they are not there inside because of big dangers." - he said as he sat down again.

Chaka looked out the window.  "I wonder what happened here.  Something very bad." She said.  She was concerned at what happens to the folks who lived here.  She hoped most of then got away from whatever happened.

Walker looked out another window, "Something dire indeed. I expect we'll find out sooner or later." He said.  "There still to much evil in this world." He said, remembering something he heard  someone say.  He could not remember clearly.

The woman next to him went quiet as she saw the Orc hold his monsterous hammer gently by the haft. The green and black metal was suddenly glowing a faint orange and red.
Taloc was smiling, and this time, it did not look forced. Nor did it look at all plesant. "...Perhaps," Taloc said softly, "We should be offering to act as guards for the Buggy?" The woman edged away nervously as she saw the Orc's tighten around the haft. "I certainly wouldn't mind stretching my legs for a bit..."

A short distance behind the buggy, the shadow that had been following them seemed to stop, before almost tearing the ground around it apart as the cloaked figure rose out of it, though something seemed...off.  The figure enveloped by the shadows stood limp, almost as if it wasn't truly alive, but merely a shell animated by something.  As the shadows receded, the figure straightened, staring towards the town ahead...

"It may come to that before this trip is over." Walker said looking out the window.  "And how far we travel, considering travel seems dangerous."

"In some areas more then others." Chaka said as she thought back on the travels she had done to date and some stories she had heard and read about.
