The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Who am I?

^ Should have recognized the name  :slap
It was her navigator Fred Noonan who accompanied her on her last flight. Both of them are missed ever since. For all I know their plane has never been located.

Yes. they disappeared in 1937, and probably died in a crash. Considering how deep the Pacific is, the plane is probably more than 2 miles below the surface in many pieces.

Speaking of missed pilots, I am thinking of another one. A Frenchman whose plane was found not too long ago.

Nope, nope, nope. Von Richthofen crashed near Vaux sur Somme, in perfect view of hundreds of Australian soldiers. His plane and his body were immediately recovered, so he was never missed. The pilot I'm talking of was missed in action though. He was not a German.

He became more famous for his writings than for flying.

All grown-ups were children first. (But few remember it).

That's the way they are. You must not hold it against them. Children should be very understanding of grown-ups.
Quote
Grown-ups like numbers. When you tell them about a new friend, they never ask questions about what really matters. They never ask: "What does his voice sound like?" "What games does he like best?" "Does he collect butterflies?". They ask: "How old is he?" "How many brothers does he have?" "How much does he weigh?" "How much money does his father make?" Only then do they think they know him.
If you tell grown-ups, "I saw a beautiful red brick house, with geraniums at the windows and doves on the roof...," they won't be able to imagine such a house. You have to tell them, "I saw a house worth a hundred thousand francs." Then they exclaim, "What a pretty house!"
Quote
"One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes."
These are just a few quotes from the pilot's most outstanding book which I recommend everyone to read (it is not a long book).

No. As I said he was missed ever since. The plane has been found not long ago. It crashed into the sea. Another quote from this most famous book of his reads
Quote
I shall look as if I were dead; and that will not be true . . ."
And it gave a kind of romantic mystery to his own disappearance which in fact was not very romantic at all. He was shot down in war.

The book is right! You will easily find out about the author's name. Did you read the book?

You are spelling it perfectly right Nick, so it is your turn.
The little prince is a lovely book however short it is. Not knowledge but wisdom.

Wisdom and knowledge are two different things. You can gain knowledge from reading a book, but you can only gain wisdom through experience. I am the best -known English playwright of the 1590s, besides Shakespeare.

Christopher Marlowe I presume?

I guess I agree, but not totally. Some books can help the open minded reader to acquire wisdom by seeing things clearer. The little prince does definitely not deal with knowledge, nor is it written for mere entertainment.

No marlowe was well known, but there was another playright who was better-known than he...
Yes, books can help the open-minded, but only if they are open-minded.

On that I agree without any reservations.
