The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I just recently burned myself a new mix cd (yes I still do this for my car).  This is of ones where ballads have come out of animated films/shows.  I think I got most of them if not all.  Realistically, many of them sound a lot alike down to tempo, instrumentation, and vocalists. :p

1978
Watership Down: Bright Eyes

1982
The Secret of NIMH: Flying Dreams

1986
An American Tail: Somewhere Out There

1988
The Land Before Time: If We Hold On Together

1989
All Dogs Go to Heaven: Love Survives

1991
Beauty and the Beast: Beauty and the Beast

1992
Aladdin: A Whole New World

1993
Once Upon A Forest: Once Upon A Time With Me

1994
The Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
The Swan Princess: Far Longer Than Forever

1995
Balto: Reach For the Light
Pocahontas: If I Never Knew You
The Pebble and the Penguin: Now and Forever

1997
Anastasia: Once Upon a December
Cats Don’t Dance: Our Time Has Come

1998
The Prince of Egypt: When You Believe
The Lion King II: Love Will Find a Way

2000
Watership Down: Thank You, Stars

A ballad from an animated film either is based on the film’s main theme, or was performed during the film by the title character(s), and played over the end credits in a pop ballad.  Pop ballads became popular when the hit duet between James Ingram and Linda Ronstadt, Somewhere Out There made it big and almost all animated films had them for a decade after.  These ballads fell out of favor by the end of the 1990s, turning towards pop music for the credit rolls.

(That last part was on my notecard I put with the cd.)

So, how many of you have heard these, and/or like them?
