Cyrix nodded to everyone and walked outside. He looked around and called out "Zaine, are you here? Zaine...can you hear me?" He walked a little further out, and stood in a feild not far from the cave wating for a reply, and hoping Zaine was okay.

Zaine suddenly heard Cyrix calling out. "Cyrix! Where are you?" He kept looking around until he spotted the field he was in. Oh thank god. Zaine began to sprint towards him. He has to know what we can do for Longtail. He has to! As he got closer to him though, Zaine then noticed a huge tree that was leaning on its end right next to him. Oh no. It must have been from that giant lightning bolt or something. Suddenly, the tree cut loose and began to fall. Zaine sprinted forward and tried calling out. "CYRIX! MOVE!" Unfortunately, he didn't seem to hear him. Right before the tree could squash Cyrix, Zaine jumped out and flew right into Cyrix, pushing both of them out of the tree's way. The two rolled on the ground a little and stopped right at the entrance of the cave.

Zaine panted and turned towards Cyrix. "Are you ok?"

Cyrix looked up while now on the ground. He noticed Zaine was laying across him and they were both on one side of a fallen tree. Cyrix's eyes at that point widened as he suddenly came to a horrible and fearful conclusion....'That tree would've crushed me...if not for...Zaine...' He crawled out from under Zaine and picked himself up, and then helped Zaine to his feet as well. Cyrix then gave a warm smile and replied "Thank you Zaine...I owe you my life." But then he noticed the worried look on his face ans asked...

"Zaine...what's wrong...I have a feeling this is news I'd rather not hear...."

Zainesighed, and yet again another tear fell. "It's Longtail.........He's......he's........ He's been corrupted!" Zaine couldn't bear to give Cyrix the news, but he knew he had to hear it. "He tired.....to kill us........ He tried.......to turn us against each other." Then he remembered the others.

"There was this.......newcommer. He stopped us from fighting, only to reveal he was pure evil. He kidnapped Longtail using some......black water I've never seen before. Then Dante...... he......he's also corrupted......by something. Whatever that dark cloud was, it changed Longtail, and I bet it did the same to Dante."

Okay, you two better rest here now until Spirals leg gets better. I am going to watch out for others. If anyone needs help or is hurt. With that she left the cave.

Cyrix was stunned...he just couldn't believe what Zaine had just said. It couldn't be true...no not Longtail...he shut his eyes and cringed as he forced himself to believe what had just been said to be the horrible truth of the situation. Cyrix began to shed tears as he started shaking as well and said "T-then...we have....no choice....if...we see....him....then...then..." Cyrix mind was reeling as he spat out "Then we have....to...KILL LONGTAIL! If he can't be turned back...then he will have to die....in order...for us...to survive..."

He sat down for a moment and cried some more as he sighed and said with a shaky voice. "I-I just wish...I could've....stopped him...this...all of this...if I could have just...gotten to him...I-I...." He looked up at Zaine, and for the first time in a long time Cyrix felt like a hatchling with no hope and no chance in the world.

Blueberry remained in the cave for some minutes, looking into the dark tunnel.
"Longtail...Why...?"
There was still some of that dark liquid left on the floor...
He bent down, looking closer at it.
...What is this thing...?
He hesitated...
Then dipped a finger into it.
For a moment, he remained the same position. Just looking terrified at the liquid.
Blueberry gave a up quick scream of pain.
He rapidly removed the finger, and rubbed the pain away against his chest.
It... Burns!
Blueberry then saw another liquid fall down on the ground.
As he looked closer, he realized that this was not water.
Blueberry was crying. Big tears fell down from his chins. But not because of the pain in his finger...
Longtail was gone. One of his bestest friends where gone. The pain was unbearable.
Blueberry slowly sank down onto his knees... he burried his face onto the ground and let go.

As Littlefoot and Chomper head over a hill, Littlefoot could see his grandparents with Cers and her family. seeing them filled him with relief.
"Grandma! Grandpa!" he yelled and sat of running towards them.
"Oh, I'm so glad you're okay!" he said as he ran in under their bodies.

Zaine couldn't believe what Cyrix was saying. He shook his head in dispair. "No......there has to be another way........There has to be a way to bring him back. I cannot and will not kill him, and I can't believe you are giving up on him like that! Damnit he's your own nephew!" Zaine realized he had to control what he was saying, but he still couldn't believe that Cyrix would want to just kill him. "I realize how you must feel, but I was there when Longtail was engulfed in that dark cloud. I was there when he wanted to kill us. If anything, I'm the one that should be feeling hopeless. I could have saved him, but I was too weak to do anything..."

Dante dragged himself up towards the others.
"D-Don't blame yourself, Zaine. I...I could have...stopped him, but...I lost it to my inner darkness. I...I almost...attacked you guys, and I let myself be more attentive to that Hadrian rather than my friend Longtail. So..."
He dropped to a knee in front of them, bowing his head so far that his snout touched the ground.
"Please...Forgive me for my weakness. I'm sorry..."

"Thanks for saving Cyrix Zaine, and maybe more of us, since we may have stepped to where the tree is You had not done what you did." Mim said, then she turned to Cyrix.

Mim patted Cyrix on the shoulder, "I'm sure we can turn him back, if anyone can it would likely be you who know him best." Mim said.

"We need to find some growups who may have heard of this stuff. Maybe some of the older ones." Mia said.

Rhyn thought for a moment, "In the Great Valley there is Littlefoot's grandparents & Mr. Thicknose. Outside the Great Valley there is Blue-eye's Great Grandfather, he is very old, or he seems so." Rhyn said.

"Maybe they do if the 2 of you don't, have you heard of this stuff before, I certainly have not." Diver said.

Cyrix looked down at the ground and still feeling that sad, empty feeling inside and said to Zaine and Dante..."I-I don't...want...to kill...him...if-if we can...I'll change him back myself...but...I...this has never happened before...I...i don't know what to do..." he looked up at Mim and then asked "P-Please....help me...find my nephew...I-I just want him back."
He then laid his head down on the ground and cried. He'd always knew that there was a chance that this could happen, but for it to actually happen...was just something that Cyrix was not nor would ever be prepared for.

Grandpa looked down to see his grandson and smiled greatly as he said "There you are Littlefoot, I was beginning to worry about you. I am proud to see that you are safe and unhurt. have you seen your friends? Are they alright?"

Chomper ran after Littlefoot, straight under the huge Longneck to feel save. I.... I hope it¥s over now. Chomper said and began to shiver.

Ruby ran out of the cave and through the Valley. She looked out for anyone who would need help or is hurtet. Then she noticed Cyrix and the others. She ran over to them.
Hey, are you alright?, Ruby asked as she stopped in front of them. Then she noticed Cyrix,... crying. Oh....No, what happened, why are you crying? Ruby was concerned and knelt down next to him.

Shera stepped forward: "He's crying over Longtail..." She looked at Cyrix and dropped a tear herself.

Ducky was feeling very weird all of a sudden. She went off spike's back and walked over to Cyrix. She put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm.. I'm sure your nephew will be okay, Cyrix. Yes, I'm sure." she said in a try to make him feel more comfortable.

"Heh...Not like I'm going anywhere fast anyways," Spiral muttered.

"She seemed nice," Kariya said, sitting down near her brother, but between him and the entrance to the cave.

"She didn't try and kill me. That's good enough for me," Spiral responded.

An awkward silence ensued. "So...What now?" Kariya asked.

"...Good question. You can go out, if you want," Spiral replied.

"And leave you here by yourself, with the way your leg is? I don't think so," his sister said. Spiral just sighed; he'd expected her to say something like that. At least it's not bleeding anymore, he thought, keeping some pressure on it just in case.

Oh..., Ruby was confused. What happened to Longtail? I just was there til the point where the stranger arrived. What happened to him? Ruby went closer to Cyrix and tapped him softly on the shoulder.

Shera was thinking and finally said "Zaine knows full story... I wasn't there either so I guess I can't really tell it like he could." She looked over to Zaine.

Zaine looked up towards Ruby. "After that strange lightning bolt, Longtail flew over to the Mysterious Beyond to check it out. Unfortunately, a huge dark cloud began to form, and it swallowed Longtail up." He hesitated before continuing, because it was painful for him to recall what he saw happen to his friend. "We found him uninjured, but......he had become corrupted. The evil inside of him had broken out and taken control of him. He tried to kill me Blueberry and Ecco, but then another one came and kidnapped Longtail. He was just as evil, maybe worse." He looked over towards Dante. "Dante seems to have the same problem, only now he seems normal again."

Then he remembered something. "Wait a minute, there was another dinosaur there, but he wasn't evil! He wasn't too big, but not too small either. He stopped us from fighting Longtail. I think his name was Aeto or something like that. If we find him, maybe he could help us!"

I knew the beginning already. But not the end. Thanks, that clears things up. Then she looked over to Cyrix. Don¥t worry, I am sure we¥ll get your nephew back to normal. Didn¥t things always turned out well in the end, she asked, thinking at the many adventures they had together.

Maybe you are right Zaine. But we have to be sure that the dinosaur is good. We can go and search for him after we are sure that everyone here is safe.

Blueberry had remained in the cave untill he was done crying.
He sniffed, then made his way out.
As he got out, he saw that the storm had stopped.
Not knowing where the others had followed Zaine, he set off in a random direction.
Suddenly, he ran into Littlefoot, Chomper, Cera and their parents/grandparents.

"Blueberry! Where have you been?... Are you okay?" Littlefoot asked as he saw Blueberry coming.
"...But, Blueberry... what is it? You've been...crying?" he said with concern and walked over to him.

"...Give me a minute, Littlefoot..." Blueberry sniffed, and wiped some tears away with his hand.
"And I'll explain everything..."

Zaine nodded. "I just hope Blueberry is ok. I feel so guilty because I left him in the cave. And then there's Littlefoot, Cera, and Chomper. I haven't seen them since I left for the Mysterious Beyond." He looked up at Ruby. "Ruby, we have to go find the others and make sure they're ok, especially Blueberry. I have to go apologize to him for leaving back there."
