Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 (I can name 2 major ones)

1.) You were Grovyle's Human partner in the future before you got turned into a Pokemon.

2.) Dusknoir who would seem to be a respected bounty hunter from the future is actually working for the main villain, Darkrai who is trying to plunge the future (from which your character came from) into infinite night.

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening -

It a was a MAJOR shock to find out that Koholint Island was actually a dream of the Wind Fish made real and didn't actually exist.

One most of you probably haven't seen-

April Fool's Day (1986)- a slasher film where, at the end, it turns out it was all a joke and everyone was okay.

Some good Saw twists:

1. Saw 1-Jigsaw turning out to be the "dead" body on the floor.

2. Saw 2-The events in the house were just a video playback and occurred hours before the police arrived at Jigsaw's lair.

3. Saw 4-The events of Saw 3 and 4 are happening at the same time.

4. Saw 6-The mother and son are not William's family, rather, the reporter is his sister.

Other twists that shocked me:

The ending of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile.
Randy dying in Scream 2.
The revelation at the end of The Final Destination that everything that happened in the series was intended to happen, that the characters never cheated Death in the first place.
The colonel turning out just to be an AI (and many other twists) in Metal Gear Solid 2.

The Flood's appearance in Halo: Combat Evolved.

Honestly, I had been watching my brother play through the game, we were both getting into the alien-human war storyline, and all of a sudden these super-zombie thingies appear and we look at each other with these expressions: :o

I never saw it coming. It was very well-done, and I loved the way it simply slotted in with the central storylines of the Covenant's religion and what the Halo had to do with it.

The ending of the movie version of The Mist, which I think is one of the best twist endings ever:

The main character and a few other survivors who decided to leave the supermarket get in their car to get away from the monsters. After running out of gas, the main character decides he doesn't want to see his friends and family get mutilated by the monsters, they decide to take a bullet as a much less grotesque way to go. Yes, the main character even shoots his 8-year old son. Since he doesn't have a bullet for himself, the main character steps outside of the car to willingly be killed by the creatures...........

Only to find the thing that was approaching him was the military, who've managed to destroy the mist (and subsequently the monsters), and are escorting the survivors from the supermarket. Yes, the main character just killed his friends and family for nothing, and had they waited 2 more minutes they wouldn't have died.

It's all in one line.
"No, Luke. I AM YOUR FATHER!"
A completely unexpected twist at that. It can NEVER be repeated after that XD . Unless you're really, really, really, really, REALLY clever.

The most shocking twist would be...a horror protagonist who actually does logical things!

1. Tobi from Naruto turns out to be Uchiha Madara. That was my favorite moment in Naruto. Also one of the last truly awesome moments in the series.

2. Big Smoke and Ryder's betrayal in GTA: San Andreas.

3. The big reveal in Sleepaway Camp. You know the one.

4. Vanitas' face (Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep)

5. The birth of Xehanort(Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep)

For me, inFamous.  I have not finished it myself, but rather saw a friend of mine finish it instead and man, did not see that happen in who you face in the final boss....you face your future self

I honestly did not expect that at all.

Oh, and Brekclub, about Saw 6.  Yes, I have to agree, I thought the mother and son was related to the executive guy doing the tests.  But at the end when it was the girl who was his sister and the other two being unrelated to him....yeah, didn't expect that.

Two words.  Fight Club.

Finding out that "Tyler Durden" was just a figment of the narrator's mind, seeing himelf like he wanted to be, and then realizing that he was crazy the entire time.

Wow.  Brain asploded.

The final episode of Terminator the Sarah Conner Chronicles where all of a sudden the one Terminator whom you thought throughout the whole series to be out to kill John Conner saves him and turn out to be... on which side exactly? Not really clear if it would be the "good" side, but apparently not as "bad" a side as one expected. I was eager for the answers to these questions to come in season 3... which was never produced :bang

You're right: That single line says it all, and I didn't see it coming when I saw Episode V the first time.Call it one of those "Say what?" moments. :)

That and the series' ending episode of Bob Newhart's second sitcom. This was considerably before most of you guys' time, but what a ingenious way to wrap this show by playing on Newhart's first sitcom.  Plot twist to end all plot twists?
  :lol

I third or fourth the "Luke I am your father" bit. Say what you will about George Lucas, but that really was the greatest plot twist of all time.

*OMG SPOILERS!*

Here's a couple of memorable ones I've seen over the years in movies:

The Sixth Sense - The main character has been dead all along.

Planet of the Apes - It was Earth all along.

The Empire Strikes Back - All ready mentioned, but definitely a great twist.

Citizen Kane - Rosebud was a sled.

Soilent Green - It's made from people.

Spoiler alert!   Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Victor Reznov from World at War returns in Black ops.  He helps the main character escape from a Russian gulag and later joins him on several missions.  However, it turns out that Reznov isn't really there.  He's just a hallucination in your head caused by him brainwashing you.  The real Reznov was killed helping you escape from the prison.

That kinda disappointed me because Raznov is still my favorite character in the CoD series.  I wish they had not killed him and Dimitri off.  That sucked.

TBH, though I liked Lotso as a villain, I did sort of see it coming. He just had Prospector vibes to him.
