Has there been any movie, game, show, or book with a plot twist that startled or scared you at all? Here's mine: I did not see this one coming at all:

Well then, I was forced - and partially, I liked it in a way - to watch a portuguese ONLY novel - a rarety. Thing is, the last episode of the first series was just worth facepalming.

I mean, throughout more than a 100 episodes, a girl is trying to reach her beloved one's heart, starting as an employee and later as a babysitter, and precisely in the LAST episode, when they were just married, the man is ran over!

Then the second series is about that same girl trying to get to the heart of the man that ran over the first one!

I mean, what next?

The two shockers:

1. Darth Vader revealing that he is Luke's father.

2. Sephiroth killing Aerith.

You can look these up on you tube...

We all know about the former, but the latter (which comes from Final Fantasy VII) was shocking in that the likelihood of her kind of character dying was VERY low. She was the love interest of the hero (Cloud), a young INNOCENT girl (22 years old, sold flowers, and was like a saint in her conduct), the last of her kind (she was the last of a race called the "ancients", also known as Cetra, I think), and she was killed while praying for the world to be saved.

And, unlike SO many other characters, Aerith was NEVER brought back to life.

P.S. When I was young, I was also shocked to find that Zordon was killed by the Red Space Ranger; he ordered the leader of the power rangers to kill him so that he could save the universe by means of a deus ex machina release of energy from his energy tube. So far, they have kept Zordon dead.

One plot that twist comes to mind is Dino Crisis 2. When you first start the game, you are under the impression that you're 65 million years in the past. But it's later revealed that it's actually the future, 3 million years from now.

Other than Star Wars? Well, I thought the Arbiter and Master Chief teaming up in Halo 2 was unexpected, although in hindsight it was foreshadowed all throughout the game.

The end of The  Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker was also pretty mind-blowing, too. So was The Force Unleashed. As for other movies, I thought Maggie Gylenhal's (that's not how you spell her last name) character getting killed off in the Dark Knight was a decent twist. The end of Terminator 3 was definitely a plot twist, since they actually let Skynet win.

In TV, the endings of both Star Trek Deep Space Nine and Enterprise were unforseeable, with each getting a major character spontaneously killed off right at the end.

Bioshock: The "Would you kindly?" Reveal

I never saw it coming.

It was a huge moment in video game plots; Now even the dialogue can be used to mess with your head.

Those who haven't played Bioshock, don't watch this video. Contains huge spoilers.

PS: Also counts as another "Worst Way to Die in a Game."  :lol

1. Bolt
What was so surprising in Bolt? The fact that he's a normal dog?

Bruce Willis turning out to be ghost in The Sixth Sense.

Samuel L. Jackson turning out to be more than a harmless nut in "Unbreakable".

Tidus turning out to be a dream come to life in Final Fantasy X.

Your entire religion and world turning out be fabricated in Tales of Symphonia.

Norman Bates turning out to be "mother" in Psycho.

Oh, second that one. Also when the actress just got killed off, after so much screen time making her look like the main character.

I second that in every way possible, it blew my mind when I was playing.  Did not see it coming in any way at all.

The ending of "The Mist" :o.
Yeah, seriously, if they just waited a few more seconds, they would all have been alive and rescued. XP

My mom suggested that I should watch a movie called No Way Out. And needless to say, the last few minutes shocked me.

Another plot twist that really took me by surprise was the Phoenix reveal in the Monster Rancher anime. It took me completely by surprise.
