Aves was still eating cake with Nick

"Why is the chef giving us that funny look?" he asked, his mouth still full of the creamy treat "And I think we're missing something... as usual."

Just then a portal opened and out stepped a small chinese man dressed in important looking chef's uniform. The motel chef cringed at the sight of him.

"I bring message from the high exalted one." said the small china man "Have you carried out your mission?"

"Wha- what mission?" stammered the motel chef as he tried to tip the small china man that they were standing in front of the actual targets

Terry smiled and waved, "I think my new friend here will need the candle a bit more then I do, thanks for the offer though and thanks for the key." He said accepting the key & headed to the stairs.

"Hey, what's the rush Nick?" Mr. Bigmouth asked.

"Is there something wrong that you need to try and set a land speed record leaving the hotel?" Dr. Kerzach added.

Up in the tower, Deimos and Zachary thanked Stripetail.

"How exactly can we deal with ghosts?" Deimos asked. "No weapons work against them. We can't grab them. Is fleeing our only choice?"

In Dr. Zanasiu and Rime's room, Rime and Dr. Zanasiu were sleeping together.

Suddenly, Dr. Zanasiu stirred. "Um Rime, why is it I am attracted to you?"

Rime nuzzled Dr. Zanasiu. "Same reason I'm attracted to you."

Dr. Zanasiu gently scratched Rime underneath his chin. "Good enough."

They soon fell back asleep, embracing each other.

Terry used his wrist computer screen to light the way, the brightness setting set on the lowest setting. He & Hawkmon got to their room a bit after The Tourist and his companions went into the first room assigned to them and set about talking over who got which room.

Hawkmon flew off of his shoulder and found a nearby place to perch. "A most unusual hotel I must say." He said looking around.

"Unless I'm there, flight, either by going through them or going away from them, is your best option. there are several other spirits in this hotel, some may be friendly, others are not.. For nowm, lets see where their stairs lead.in the morning, we can explore this place uninhibited, as ghosts don't haunt during the day.. usually.."

Robbie, in the meantime had reached Scoovby's room. "My, my this place is flithy"" Robbie pressed a button on himself and and a duster popped out. 'time to dust and cleabnn this place" She said, as he began dusting the wall, letting off a cloud od dust, the soon filled the upper part of the room.

B.G. leapt in front of Stripetail and pointed at his own mouth, which was still moving without any sound coming out.

The last two members of the team should be arriving shortly, if they haven't already" Stripetail began guiding the large group up the stairway. "We can explore the landing in the daytime.." Deimos and Zachary left the landing and went up the stairs. Both still had their weapons with them.

"Hey, Deimos, you gonna keep that sword?" Zachary asked.

"Why not? I'll give it to Rime or someone." Deimos said. His flare burned out and he tossed it on the ground. He pulled out another flare and lit it; its intense red light illuminating the stairwell.

"Stripetail! We're right behind you!" Deimos shouted.

Stripetail turned and let them climb up next tto them. 'Once we get to the top of these stairs, wherever they may lead, I'd like a look at that sword" stripetail said motioned at the blade the ghost had thrown at Zachary and which Deimos now held in his hands.

Deimos nodded. His sword was in one hand and the flare in the other.

Zachary gripped his ax. "I've never fought anything I can't hurt."

Dr. Kerzach, who was in the lobby, pondered Nick's warning. I'd better check this out. He thought.

Dr. Kerzach then went back up to his room, grabbed his labcoat and headed to the kitchen.

"Ah. Dr. Kerzach. So nice to see you." Haresh said.

"And I you."

"Now we need you to help clean up the kitchen."

Good. Now I can go snoop through the stuff here. He thought. Dr. Kerzach then faced Haresh. "Very well."

"Good, I trust you won't break anything? I'll be going for now." Dr. Kerzach felt an uneasy vibe from Haresh.

"I'll be careful. Have a nice evening." Dr. Kerzach replied.

Haresh then left the kitchen.

Now you have. its an unsettling thought, isn't it? to knew there are things you can't harm, but who can harm you.." stripetail replied, as the stairs broke off on another landing. "I'm just guessing that this was a secret stairway to the various floors. No dout there are other secret passages in this hotel, secret rooms, and the like..."
