Insane Cafe 3: The Curse of the Haunted Hotel

_ the detention center quickly grew as material was stacked in place By stripetail's magic.. it took a couple hours to complete, but once it was done, the structure was 6 stories high.
_ stripetail finished sending magic through the mirror and recoiled from the amount of energy he had spent. he slowly made his way to a chair and collapsed into it. ' the center is complete he said speaking into the his radio.. bring the prisoners into it, and prepare them for trial..' his voice carried the strain from using so much magic..
_ Nick Nani and Shaggy slowly recuperated in the mess hall. "Things are getting worse man! we barely sescaped with our lives" he complained
_ We made it though  Gabumon said as Joe helped Matt limp into the hall. Matt had been hit be shrapnel as they had fled..

Dixie Scooby and Agumon took seats in the mess hall, all of them had impact marks on thier armor, right now they needed to recover from the fighting..
 I say we go back to the hotel, regroup and go after the areas Chong controls, yes it would mean withdrawing from this area, but we 're being pinned down right now..' Dixie said..

Velma rested where she was, finding a place to sit down while sipping some water.

The trucker fetched Stripetail a bottle of ice cold beer.

Dr. Zanasiu and the others were resting in the mess hall.

Ms. Swimmer was eating some fruit salad.

"The infirmary is that way," Strut said, pointing in its direction as soon as he saw the injured Matt.

The guards waved the trucks through and as soon as they stopped.

Several volunteers began unloading the supplies into the warehouses out in front.

One of the warehouse doors  was open and it revealed a multitude of 55 gallon drums filled with diesel fuel.

Still another warehouse - this one looking more like a bunker was open as workers ferried munitions into it.

Yet another warehouse was filled with gently glowing rocks and arrows.

Mr. Bigmouth relayed the message to Briggins. He got up to go to the bathroom.

Thank you" Stripetail said drinking the beer and making a face.. "bleech! I can't see why you folks drink this stuff..' he said  spitting out the beer, as he did so, the wizard was surprised to see that he had spat up blood. " By the gods.. ' he muttered.. the spell had affected him worse than he had thought, if he was suffering physically as a result..
 Thank you Joe said as he helped Matt over to the infiirmary.. " i;m going to need sterile gauze and instruments to cut out the shrapnel..

  some of the Dragonstorm prisoners were lead into the newly constructed detention cebnter. what was unique about this center was that the cells bars were made of pure magical energy, a touch Stripetail had added while creating the center from debris. one prisoner touched the bars and was flung hard into the wall. the smell of burning flesh drifted out of the cell, followed by cries of pain..

 Spyro and Cynder helped themselves to some food, both looked exhausted.

The troodon doctor continues his rounds before his shift was over.

The Dynaman team with Petrie and Ducky came in with the others who had been out fighting.

"That was a tough fight." one of the dynaman team said.

"Yes, I totally need to have my hair done again." the person who normally is dyna pink said.  "That helmet doesn't always agree with my hair."

"At least they are easy to clean and quick to dry." The person who normally is dyna blue said.

[Serris]

Setsuna rushed over to Stripetail and used resurrection.

Two base doctors rushed from the infirmary in case Stripetail's condition worsened.

"Commander, are you all right?" the first doctor, an African Grey Parrot asked.

The base commander, expression grim, went up to Stripetail. "We have intercepted a transmission from Arkan AFB. Several heavy bombers were dispatched with express orders to destroy Neptune City. The bombers that Arkan AFB uses are high altitude bombers loaded with incendiary and explosive bombs. We do not have any method to attack them," he said.

He then sighed. "It's as I feared, Dragonstorm has seized Arkan AFB."

Three doctors in the infirmary prepared Matt for surgery.

Many of the mildly wounded were sipping essential water while the more seriously wounded were having essential water sprayed onto the injuries.

Tarrax and the other dragons will have to go after them " stripetail said, his eyes narrowed in a cold glare. We must take  out the base, if we do that, Neptune city should be retaken in relative short order. AS it is, we must prepare to evacuate, before the enemy reaches us. it would not do us any good in staying here, if they crush our  forces in  the attempt of trying to defend the area..I need time to recover from the strain of creating the detention center and the metal and spirit minions...

"Perhaps a potion I have may help.  I've not used it yet tried it.  It may not be very useful in this situation." Jason said from a bit in the hallway near the door where he had been walking by.  "Or will the dragons be enough to handle all the fighters?" Jason said.

most likely not, but we will need time to pull out of the city.. they will be trying to delay the attack, not stop it' Stripetail replied, looking at Jason. " Give me the potion, if you have it..

[Kor]

Jason reached into a pocket on his coat, "Sure, but it's designed specifically for me." He said, pulling out the godzilla potion and handing it over to Stripetail.  "I know of someone who's pretty good at alchemy." Jason said, leaving out the person, was actually what some called a master's master, someone who could teach masters.  "A friend if mine from some time ago."

The base commander nodded and sent out a general evacuation notice.

A Raven soldier went up to him and saluted. "Sir, radar reports that the enemy will arrive in approximately two hours," she said.

"Good work. Now prepare for evacuation."

In the mess hall, several soldiers scurried out to the motor pool.

"What's going on?" Ms. Swimmer asked.

"General evacuation. We don't have much time before the whole city is reduced to rubble," a Vulpine soldier said.

Ms. Swimmer gulped and finished off her tea as she followed them.

Setsuna heard the alarm and opened a magic portal to the Inglorious Hotel.

Dirk, Al, Jose, Kurt and Ceela entered through the portal.

Rime hastily radioed Deimos. "Deimos, this here is Rime we are pulling out of Neptune City," he said into the helmet mounted radio.

"You better have taken that city back!"

"Erm no."

"What!? You better have a really f---ing good reason for hauling ass out of there!"

Rime frowned. "We do. Neptune City is going to be rubble soon thanks to an impending aerial bombing. Rime out," he said, cutting off the transmission.

Spyro Cynder and Tarrax headed out to delay the invaders as long as possible
Stripetail headed though the Poertal followed by Hunter bB.G, and Bulk and skull
 Dixie sCooby and Shaggy were next though the portal
_ Joe in the meantime was removing the last piece of shrapnel from Matts leg. Gabumon was looking at Matt with a concerned look on his face..' We need to move him, we've been ordered to evaacuate

 Hunter  Climbed into the Rovermovbile and started the engine ' alright rovers, we're pulling back..

Tai Agumon and Agumina were next though the portal the portal exited outside the hotel, which was now braced by debris from the destroyed town..
_ Wizard, I see you are not looking so well'brigginssaid as one by one the defenders hurried inside the hotel. "Neptune City is lost then?

 For the time being.. we need time to recover annd plan our strategy" Came the reply as Stripetail took a seat at a dining room table. A ghostly waiter brought him a glass of water.
_ Chong frowned as the base area turned gray on his viewing orb.. " They're pulling back perhaps..hmm..

[Serris]

The Mako transport truck and an enormous convoy of Humvees and APCs were  on the only (barely) intact road out of Neptune City. Several barricades of debris had been set up in an attempt to slow them down but the heavy truck's magically augmented bumper let it push them aside with no effort.

Mr. Bigmouth stepped out of the elevator. He was using a large piece of scrap wood as a walking stick. "What's the news?" he asked.

"Not good," Strut said. "Neptune City is going to be rubble real soon."

Mr. Bigmouth winced as pain shot through his injured side. "I'm starting to think we may not even win unless we do something drastic like use chemical, biological or even nuclear weapons," he said.

"Do you want to completely f--- Neptune City even more!?" Deimos demanded, stepping out of the kitchen where he was having a cocktail.

Dr. Kerzach and the rest of the medical team were present and on standby.

Clive and the rest of the munitions team were eating in the dining room. They had spent the past few hours carrying munitions from the convoy and Great Valley into the magazines.

"Guess you can't godzilla use potion?" Guilmon said.

"No, but let's go back to the tardis and look things over.  I may call over a friend or 2 to together see what we can figure out as far as new plans." Jason said as he and Guilmon then started for the tardis.

[Serris]

Dr. Kerzach was eating some of Haresh's spicy vegan chili.

The intensely spicy sauce made his mouth tingle but was nigh inedible to everyone else.

"Damn it! How do you eat that s---! It's like eating f---ing molten metal!" a Rottweiler soldier said, desperately gulping down some ice water.

"Avians are not really affected by chili peppers. Now artificial grape flavoring... That s--- will knock even the toughest Ostrich for a loop," Dr. Kerzach said with a grin. True to his word, the avian soldiers and volunteers were gulping the intensely spicy chili.  

Mr. Bigmouth was eating some vegetable stir-fry.

Several chefs carried out platters of food for the soldiers and the arrivals.

We are not using nuclear weapons! Stripetail said, looking at mr Bigmouth " first, we don't have them, and second, even if we had them, and used them, it would ruin the surrounding area for a very long time.. the costs are not worth using them, even if we 'won' by doing so.  We are going to retake neptune City, theres hardly any buildings left standing that they could use as a headquarters.. and we're stripping the base of anything they could possibly use..on the plus side, this araa is safe, and we're going to start taking back the towns ragonstorm now control, our first objective will be to retake Arkan .."

[Kor]

Odysseus, with Brooklyn, and some others, were resting and eating or drinking a bit.  The drinks were strictly non alcoholic since  they wished to keep their wits fully alert.

"I wonder how much longer this will continue." Brooklyn said.

"Hard to say.  Likely until the main person or people is totally destroyed." Odysseus said.  

"I hope Velma and her friends are doing well." Moran said, sipping his drink.

"We can try calling her and see.  I wonder where exactly she is." Brooklyn said, as he finished what he was eating.

"Perhaps the hotel." Odysseus said.

[Serris]

Mr. Bigmouth scratched his chin. "During the war that the Great Valley dinosaurs fought in, plant based chemical weapons - mostly in the form of darts - were used on both. But our enemy used a paste they made from bloodroot to poison our entire lake. I wager that if we were to harvest it and make it into a dust or a mist we could use it against Chong's forces,"

"Does it decompose?" Deimos asked as he swallowed some fish soup. "No use in using it if we contaminate the whole area."

Mr. Bigmouth nodded. "It should decompose in a month or so. Skin contact is relatively harmless - it will just cause mild burns. But inhaling or ingesting it can kill in a few hours. Now that I have the equipment, I may try to extract the active chemical from bloodroot and weaponize it," he said.

"That'll work. Just make sure you're wearing your protective amulet and your helpers are wearing protection. And do it outside."

Ceela and her archers were helping themselves to the sashimi platters.

The Mako truck ran over an anti-tank mine, jolting everyone inside but the armor let the truck continue rolling.

"Everyone, this is Mako, how are you all doing?" the Bull trucker asked via the truck's radio system.

The few soldiers remaining in the Sang-Heili base were moving as many valuables as possible into trucks.

"That's all of the stuff," the base commander said. He hopped into one of the trucks and the convoy pulled out of the motor pool and headed out of Neptune City.

The commander then radioed Stripetail. "Commander Stripetail, this is Sang-Heili commander, we are en route to Surf Point."

He then looked at the laptop a Boa soldier carried. "And estimated time of arrival of bombers is approximately 15 minutes. Sang-Heili commander out."

The truck shuddered as it ran over some debris.
