^Owww...sorry to hear about that (though I cannot lie that I failed to suppress a chuckle when I read about the vegetable oil bath

). I too have repeatedly been booby-trapped by the refrigerators and kitchen cupboards in my house. In some cases I am merely startled by a falling object that ends up missing me (though it usually succeeds in provoking an involuntary surprised squawk that would turn the head of some exotic rainforest bird

), but there have been plenty of cases in which I open the door of the tallest cupboard in the house, only to be met with an avalanche of snack food boxes that have been carelessly or hurriedly stuffed in (sometimes by myself

). On other occasions, while attempting to clear some space in the fridge, I inadvertently dislodge an opened or loosely sealed container of liquid that subsequently splatters my shirt or soaks my socks. And then there are the dreaded instances in which I have my toes traumatized by a conveniently heavy bottle, can, or jar that falls out of the fridge. In many cases, the offending foodstuffs add insult to injury by creating a mess I am obliged to clean up. And, of course, there are the times when my skirmish with the pantry consists of me simply hitting my head on the cupboard or freezer door.

I also stub my toes A LOT.
