The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I'm not good with wheels period.

I have yet to practice riding a car, but I just could never get into roller skating, roller blading, skate boards, or bikes. I just am not good with them. :p

I once was mentioned in my high school newspaper as an up-and-coming debater. I eventually ended up on the leadership of the team, but not as # 1... I never really pursued that position, as I had no time for it... but I WAS the leader of a team which designed a city neighborhood in a contest, and my team and I all won $50 gift certificates to Barnes and Nobles.

I'm not good on a skateboard.  I tried to learn twice, and both times, I nearly ended up with a concussion :crazy.

I once bicycled in the state of West Virginia... and paddle boated on the Monongahela River...

I do not like roller coasters.

I do have a habit of exceeding the speed limit when I drive...sometimes to dangerous levels (80 mph on a 40 mph speed limit straight road or a turn at 40-50 mph [did this when I was toned out to the first aid station])

I once successfully chased down a horse drawn carriage in Krakow, Poland. Granted, it was a rather short dash.

Certain types of electronic music can have an intoxicating effect on me. Granted they are supposed to be like that, but for me it seems to be, well a bit stronger.

I have a lead foot when it comes to driving.  Then again, nobody in my area goes the speed limit anyway :p.  Especially on the expressways.  The speed limit is 55 MPH.  Slower traffic moves at 65 MPH, and those of us who are speed demons go at least 75 MPH.  The best part of all: Cops are driving right along with us and not pulling anyone over :lol.

I recieved the "Medal of Meritorious Conduct" from the Governer General of Canada for saving the life of a hiker in my group while out in the wilderness.

The Scouts Canada commisioner brought the award and presented it to us at one of our meetings - it was a great honor!

A few weeks later the Mayor of my hometown also presented us with an award, alongside a WW2 veteran (he got a street named after him just before we went up, which he fully deserved).

...

It's kind of odd being declared a hero of your country for holding a man's broken leg together, but I suppose it was pretty heroic since the 6 of us out there were only kids at the time.

Caustizer.

Wow! You are a real hero for that!

The closest thing I ever did to that was to pull my younger brother back from incoming traffic when he wasn't looking where he was going...

That's awesome, Caustizer :yes!  The most heroic thing I've done so far was retreive a ball that belonged to some kids out of a canal for them.  Funny how kids see ya as a big hero for somethin' that minor :yes.

Good times... shame I left football behind...

Nice. I built and programmed an autonomous wheeled breadboard to follow a line.

I also led a team to design a city neighborhood, and some actual urban planners for New York City deemed it to be the best of my class.
