The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I love chocolate too! Especially triple dark chocolate! The darker the better I say! ;)
Same here!  Milk chocolate is too sweet in my opinion, and white chocolate does not serve any health benefits :x.

As for bread, I don't like white bread at all, mostly 'cuz it's so processed and it's not good for ya.  Unike Pangaea, I eat mostly breads with seeds and nuts in it.  I like multi-grain, sometimes potato, dark rye, and pumpernickel bread.  I also like cinnamon-raisin bread :smile.

Whenever I watch "Everybody Loves Raymond", I can't help but laugh at the similarities between them and my family. :p Not really my intermediate family, but just the drama that goes on within the rest of the fam.

I like apples and peanut butter. I don't know who came up with that idea, but I think it was a good one.  :D

Here in Australia, fully processed white bread is basically non-existent. Visiting relatives from the US have told me that the white bread you can buy in supermarkets in Australia is usually found only in health shops in America... Over there, the white bread manufacturers bake bread for maximum softness so it's only just cooked - basically still dough. :x That's why it feels like a rock in your stomach, and you don't get any nutritional benefit from it. Over here on the other hand, there are no breads that I know of that are baked in that way, and if there are you'd be hard pressed to find any.

I only just ate a white bread sandwich, and it didn't coagulate or stick to the roof of my mouth at all. Very nice to eat... it actually felt more like wholemeal bread than white... :yes

Oh, and to stay on topic:
-I love Wholemeal bread
-I don't mind Rye Bread (particularly good with cheese)
-I'd rather not have Multigrain
-I tried Pumpernickel once a long time ago... and I swore never to again. :x Sorry Malte... :p

Not at all, of the different kinds of dark bread existing Pumpernickel would certainly not be my first choice either (though I may not consider it as bad as you do).

Amen to that :yes
This I think would be my choice ;)

I had a sandwich on Pumpernickel bread yesterday. It was pretty good. :smile (The bread part, anyway; I thought the contents were too bland.)

Now for my postponed dissertation on chocolate: :p

I’m not especially picky when it comes to chocolate. I’m good with most varieties. Of course, if it’s too dark, well...I’ve already said how I feel about bitter-tasting foods. :p

I’m kind of strange, though, in that while I love chocolate, I don’t like to eat large amounts of it, especially if it’s very rich chocolate. The best I can describe it is that my taste buds get tired of the flavor really quickly. I also don’t care much for chocolate ice cream.

And I love marshmallows. :P:

I never liked American-made bleu cheese.  I thought I never liked any bleu cheese until I tried one from France, and it was awesome!

My family has made pancakes for breakfast every Sunday since I can't remember when. :p Often I don't eat them, sometimes as a result of oversleeping, :P: but mostly because I get tired of pancakes easily. As I explained on this thread about six months ago, my pancake preferences are very specific. Usually when I do partake in my family's pancake breakfasts, it's only when we have a particular kind of maple syrup around. (I can also be tempted if we have blueberries available.)

On the subject of pancakes, have you ever tried them with sugar and lemon juice, Pangaea? It's better than it sounds. Really simple: you just squeeze a bit of lemon juice straight on to the pancake, then sprinkle sugar on it according to taste, and then roll it all up like you would a carpet. It's beautiful, especially with a bit of cream. :smile

I also once tried making pancakes using beaten egg whites as opposed to normal ones. The usual deal when you're cooking with egg whites... whip up the egg whites, prepare the rest of the mixture normally, then fold the whites in with the batter.
It actually turned out really good. The first pancake out of the pan was crunchy on the outside, but lovely and fluffy on the inside. If I hadn't forgotten to add that crucial pinch of salt to the mixture, it would have been perfect. :angel

I like pancakes but rarely eat them. Instead, I eat waffles and oatmeal for breakfast. That's good eating.  :lol

I don't really care for breakfast.  I usually have a banana and a glass of soy milk with some Carnation instant breakfast powder (for vitamins, along with my supplements I take), and I often squeeze in a good 'ol strong mug of coffee with French vanilla creamer sometime in the mornin'.

Hmm... I'm eating mostly noodle soup for breakfast. I need something warm to eat to get into the day.  :)
