After Shade's donation was finished, Vic unhooked him and watched Neku's vital signs. "I personally suggest at least one more transfusion before we try to move you," he implied. "How do you feel right now? Besides one hand less for a piano?"

Feral, still keeping watch, looked over to Aiko. "You in, yet?"

"I'm tapping into the power sector where the fusion reactor is kept," Aiko replied. "I'll have the defenses there shut down to avoid another incident."

"I think there may be another experiment here that's a matching donor," Dr Joe said. "But...he may be more dangerous than he looks, according to these records..."

The squad in the other transport wasted no time as they split and commandeered the bullet-ridden towers, most armed with launchers and sniper rifles...

Ariol and his group entered the facility and are making their way to the armory...

Delta squad stopped at least hundred meters before the wall of fire.

"Head out!" Delta leader shouted. She was panting heavily from the heat of the hot fire.

Delta squad then turned around and headed back for the lab.

"Well, that worked as a distraction." Dr. Zanasiu said. He was breathing heavily and sweat poured down his face.

Suddenly Dr. Bailey's voice came over on the radio. "Doc Z, the sensors in that hallway you're in indicate that structural failure of a section of the floor is imminent as well as a fire."

"Yeah, I know about the fire." Dr. Zanasiu replied, "Dr. Kerzach used some grease to trip up our pursuers and a grenade lit the grease on fire."

"Just be aware that the section of the floor that shows the highest infrared signature is also the same area that is likely to fail. It's possible that the grenades weakened the floor. Bailey out."

Dr. Zanasiu sighed. "Okay, we can't use this hallway anymore because the area that caught fire is going to collapse. On the plus side, they can't chase us down this hallway anymore."

"The floor is gonna collapse!" exclaimed Shelton, getting on his tiptoes before realizing that would have no effect whatsoever. He hugged the wall instead. "Where, exactly?"

"I'd assume right where I accidentally set the fire." Dr. Kerzach said. By this time, the fire burned itself out.

"We'll need to get out before that happens!" Alfred said. He gestured to a stairwell that led upwards.

"Let's go!" Dr. Zanasiu said. He then entered the stairwell.

As Aisha and DR Bailey reached the stairwell the weakened floor gave way, one section fter another fell down into the floor belkow.. " Have to go any way from now on this place is impassible..

"Well, at least those troopers won't be coming after us for a bit." Dr. Kerzach said.

"Wait Shelton, aren't Pelvanida guards actually from a private company?" Dr. Zanasiu said. "That could explain why they're so competent; they're being paid to protect, now kill us."

"Great, we're being hunted by psychotic Pinkertons," groaned Shelton. "You're right. Good news is, if we can convince them it's profitable enough, we could pay some of them off."

"How could we pay them off when they're trying to shoot us?" Dr. Kerzach asked.

"I'm not sure if we can make our way back to the control room." Dr. Zanasiu said. "Perhaps we should head to the cafeteria and see if they got any 'surprises' in there."

"Radio specific guards when they're alone?" Shelton shrugged. "I don't really know, I'm just saying the fact that they have no actual loyalty to their employer could be useful." He looked back down the hallway. "I hope Ridley's okay with Hawkeye."

Dr. Zanasiu facepalmed. "Damn it, I forgot. The most valuable things we have are our weapons."

"I guess we can steal money from the Double Helix Eatery or the base commissary or we can rob the other scientists here." Zachary offered.

"Well, I guess that could work. But let's start with simple thievery, then move up to muggings then we can run a prostitution ring? Good idea?" Dr. Kerzach said.

"I hope you were kidding about the prostitution ring." Dr. Zanasiu said.

"I was."

"Well, why not?" Dr. Zanasiu said. He then entered the stairwell, followed by Zachary.

"Maybe the new management didn't like the old name?" Alfred said, following the group.

Dr. Zanasiu carefully opened the door and peered out. The emergency exit opened to the back of the kitchens. He noticed a Beagle in a lab coat walking down the hallways and entering the walk-in freezer. He could hear the sounds of cooking and the staff ordering their food. Luckily, there was no one else in the hallways. "Guys, come on."

Zachary and Dr. Kerzach gently pushed the door open and exited the stairwell.

"Stay out of sight. I'm going to follow that Beagle in a lab coat I saw." Dr. Zanasiu said. He then crept out of the stairwell and headed to the walk-in freezer that the Beagle entered.

Fine' Aisha grumbled, as she scoured back under the stairway. " Wecould grab some aprons and disguise ourselves as waiters or dishwashers' Dr landon said..

Alfred nodded. "Hmm. I'll try that." He then handed Aisha his shotgun and exited the stairwell. He then entered a closet where he helped himself to an apron that fit him the best. He then got an apron that fit Aisha and handed it to her.

"Put this on. We'll try and pose as cooks and gather data from the scientists and guards here." Alfred said.

"What about me?" Dr. Kerzach asked.

"Keep an eye out for trouble."

Dr. Zanasiu entered the walk in freezer and immediately slipped on a patch of ice. As he staggered to his feet he noticed that a patch of ice seemed too square. He went up to the patch and brushed away some ice crystals revealing a keypad.

He shivered and exited the freezer.
