Things were pretty tense as Clyco, Cardon, and their escortee finally made it down to the required level. The door stood in front of them that needed to be opened. It was numbered Sub 66. The VIP flipped his card, but nothing happened. Flipping it again, the VIP swore.
"God dammit, what does one have to do to get proper clearance." he tossed the card on the ground next to Clyco in frustration. The soldier picked it up and put it in his pocket, for it was the key to his suitcase if he needed to get it off his arm quickly.
"Control we are having an access issue down in Sub 66... it won't acknowledge our clearance," Cardon spoke into his radio. There was nothing but static.
"Clyco, go find a terminal and find out what the hell is going on," Cardon ordered the younger soldier. Clyco obeyed to the best of his ability, and opened a door into a storage room.
"Nothing here sir," he told the VIP
"Keep looking, we haven't got all day," the VIP replied as he checked his watch. Clyco moved into the storage room as ordered. Behind the VIP the door opened, "Finally..." he moaned. But it wasn't control that opened it.
Out from the experimental storage room stepped out a strange cybernetic man, covered entirely with shiny metal. The sight was so impressive that the VIP just stopped and stared.
"Move back, move back!" insisted Cardon, but he didn't listen.
"You are a threat to Dragonstorm," the cyborg addressed coldly, "you must be terminated,"
"What?" asked the VIP in bewilderment. The cyborg grabbed him by the neck and broke it, killing him instantly. Cardon opened fire immeadiately with his side arm, aiming for the head and chest, but it was to no effect.
Cardon ran out of ammo and dropped his gun. The veteran soldier turned to run, but was gunned down in a hail of bullets as the cyborg targetted him with an arm mounted machine gun.
Clyco saw what happened and panicked. What was going on? He tried to duck under a table but he was too late. The Cyborg opened the door and scanned the room. It spotted Clyco lying on the ground and alive, but judged him to not be a threat to waste ammo on.
With a thudd the door closed leaving Clyco alone in the dark.
