For several hours, the group drove through Nevada desert.

"I wonder if Dr. Joe, Snow and Vic are okay?" Dr. Zanasiu said.

"They didn't join us in the final battle there and when we tried to radio them, we got no response. We couldn't find them after the battle..." Zachary then swallowed.

"You're saying they died?"

Zachary nodded.

Dr. Zanasiu sighed. "Well, at least it was for a noble cause. We will never forget them."

Dr. Zanasiu said nothing but stared out into the dusk.

With the briefing over, the group geared up for the move. Besides her armor, Dr Joe holstered a Desert Eagle handgun and strapped a backpack on, containing what she needs to gather information. Aiko prepped himself with two bags of computer gear, the same handgun, and a Calico M-960A submachine gun. Vic was the same, but with a full advanced medical bag for war. Feral armed himself with the same two weapons, plus a Heckler & Koch G11 rifle, and a bag full of "surprises." Snow simply strapped body armor and pulled her jacket over it.

Once done, the squad moved out into the darkness, and towards a Black Hawk helicopter revving up their propellers. Waiting for them in the chopper was the pilot, a dingo, the co-pilot, a human, and two armadillo side gunners each with Dillon Aero miniguns. As everyone jumped inside the chopper lifted from the ground and moved forward to their objective. Three other helicopters lifted off nearby and followed suit. Two of these were unmanned Fire Scouts, the other another Black Hawk with forward rockets and guns, to give a much-needed diversion while the heroes infiltrated the base. High above them, another unmanned aerial vehicle was keeping tabs on their advance.

The helicopters buzzed by in view of the heroes on the ground...

Zachary heard the throbbing of the helicopter rotors.

"Damn it! Pelvanida sent helos after us!" he shouted.

Dr. Zanasiu looked out the window. "Nope, they're going to Pelvanida. Can anyone say distraction?"

Zachary grinned. "Oh yeah!" He turned the SUV around right in the middle of the highway and sped towards Pelvanida.

Alfred did the same to his truck following the SUV.

Dr. Branston was looking at the radar system. "Hey, who invited those helos?"

"No one." an Opossum guard replied.

Dr. Branston quickly tapped a few keys and had the GAU-19/A gatling guns prepare to target the incoming helos. "Well, those party crashers are going to get a nasty surprise."

Suddenly the GAU-19/A gatling guns roared to life as the helicopters passed within range.

The pilot turned his head slightly to Feral. "Enemy guns are homing in on us, sir!"

"You know what to do..." was Feral's reply.

The two Fire Scouts immediately gained speed and took the lead, followed by the second Black Hawk. The UVTOLs homed in on several of the gattling guns and fired their own rockets on them, incinerating them in flames. The Scouts then swooped low just above the ground as they weaved between the base's defenses and let loose their chain guns on anything and anyone in their path. The second Black Hawk began circling near the towers, the gunners raining cover fire and an on-board sniper picking off the tower guards.

As it happened, the main Black Hawk moved in on their target building, hovering just inches above the roof. The quartet leaped out and scrambled towards the nearest vent, ripped it open and dove inside, being careful to close the grate back up.

One Scout was unlucky to take gattling rounds in the tail, and slammed into a cargo truck near Dr Branston, exploding in a massive fire ball...

Zachary grinned and gunned the engine. The SUV's speedometer flew past 90 mph as he closed in on the gate.

Several Pelvanida guards with Stinger missile launchers had to leap out of the way as the SUV barreled past. Zachary slammed the SUV's brakes, jolting everyone to a stop.

"Go, go, go!" Dr. Zanasiu shouted. He leapt out of the truck, grabbed his shotgun and and ran into the entrance. Zachary followed him.

Alfred's truck came crashing through the entrance a few minutes later. A small group of Stinger armed guards targeted one of the Black Hawks. Alfred swerved his truck into the group of guards, knocking them down. He then gunned the engine and dragged a few of those guards to their deaths. He slowed the truck down to 10 mph, leapt from the still moving vehicle and bolted towards the entrance.

Alfred ran into a guard somewhat deeper into the entrance. The guard initially took him to be a construction worker and let him pass.

Alfred then met Dr. Zanasiu and Zachary inside a large utility closet.

"Man, that intro we did...it was... like a [censored] action flick!" Zachary panted.

"You're telling me! I leapt out of a moving vehicle!" Alfred panted.

"Quiet. We're inside." Dr. Zanasiu whispered.

We're right here' Aisha said. " She had shot a guard in the head who had fired at her. Dr Landon came up behind her. his coat was singed. "Quite an enterance genlemen.. you do this often?" he saisd with a touch of mirth

The onslaught continued outside as the remaining umanned chopper gunned down a band of armed guards just as they ran out to halt the attack. But two defense guns finally hit their mark and the Fire Scout exploded in burning mass of wreckage.

The support chopper circled around too late as an anti-aircraft rocket smashed into the tail of the Black Hawk, causing the vehicle to spin violently away from the complex. The pilot somehow managed to maneuver the craft enough to land somewhat softly outside the perimeter, but most of the crew were badly injured from the crash. The main chopper sped from the drop zone before any of the control towers could spot them and hovered near the fallen chopper. The crew rushed as fast as they could into the Black Hawk, and the gunship sped away from the reinforcements...

The quartet slid their way through the vents until they found themselves just above a closet to one of the regular laboratories. They checked for cameras and recording devices before dropping down into the dark room. Feral silently bolted the door to keep unwanted guests from falling in. Snow made a small blue flame from her paw to light the room for everyone to see. They're in...

As the guards ran past to assess the damage and reinforce their defenses, a man in a long overcoat strided past towards the room where Dr Branston resides, lighting a cigarette as he walked. Ariol, a professional hitman to protect the interests of Project Dragonstorm had arrived only a half-hour before the attack began...

Dr. Zanasiu shook his head. "Nope. It's the first time I've done that."

Zachary shook his head. "There's no one out there." He turned to Aisha, Dr. Landon and Alfred. "Are you all armed? I've got my rifle, James has his shotgun."

Alfred shook his head. "My shotgun is the the back of the SUV or with Hans."

"Well, you may not need a weapon, seeing how well you fought barehanded."

"I'm not interested in getting into another fistfight."

Dr. Zanasiu, Zachary and Alfred crept out of the closet and headed deeper into the complex. The flashing red lights and blaring klaxons died down as the helos no longer pounded the front of the base.

Dr. Zanasiu found a lab labeled 451-F and tried the door, only to find out that it was locked.

He sighed and entered a lab labeled 451-G, which was unlocked but occupied by a single African Gray Parrot scientist.

"Hello. Care to tell me who you are?" the African Grey asked, without turning away from his microscope

"We're construction workers." Alfred replied.

"Oh really, then why are two of you armed?" The Parrot turned towards them. Unbeknownst, to the group, one of his hands was reaching for the alarm button under his lab bench. He pressed it and groped around for his FN Five Seven pistol.

Those are my two guards."

The Parrot feigned a smile. "Why don't you take a seat?" he said, pointing with his free hand to a few free chairs in the back of the lab.

"Sir." A Beaver technician said to Dr. Branston. "There appear to be 4 life signs in laboratory 451-F. But according to the records, that laboratory has been locked and was up for assignment since the last scientists who worked there, Dr. Johnson Zenarchis and Dr. Brian Cass were killed in an laboratory explosion over a year ago."

"Odd. I'll have a squad check it out." Dr. Branston replied. He then radioed a squad to check the aforementioned laboratory. He then noticed the blinking red dot in laboratory 451-G. He radioed another squad to that
lab.

The squad leader of the 451-F squad unlocked the door to the vacant lab and readied his weapon, an M4 carbine with an attached tactical light. He threw in a flashbang and his squad rushed in, sweeping the lab.

"There's no one here." a Shire Horse soldier said.

"Try the closet." the squad leader, a rugged looking Border Collie said.

Three of his men went to the closet and tried to open it, only to find it was locked. "Odd. It's locked."

The squad leader handed him the key.

The Shire Horse inserted the key into the lock and turned it.

(OOC - it was mentioned that life signs sensors are everywhere in Pelvanida during the previous RP. )

Ariol reached the main room and entered, clearly hearing the last part of Dr Banston's orders. "Trouble with security again, Doc?" he said with a smug look. One look over at the security alarm lighting up nearby. "Looks like uninvited guests in 451-G, too..."

As the guard turned the key, no one would be ready as the door exploded from the closet into the lab, taking anyone down with it. Almost immediately, Vic, Feral, & Aiko leaped from the ceiling above and tossed out their own flashbangs across the laboratory. The trio launched through the doorway and gunned in all directions...

Snow and Dr Joe were next to leave the closet, keeping low to avoid enemy fire...

A few of guards were cut down by the surprise attack but the quickly took cover and returned fire.

"Ah, you must be Ariol." Dr. Branston said. "You may head down to 451-G and dispose of the intruders."

"Dr. Branston! The 451-F squad has run into trouble." a technician said.

Dr. Branston sighed and radioed another squad to assist.

Dr. Zanasiu, Alfred and Zachary took the scientist up on his offer.

"Something isn't right. He's too calm." Alfred whispered.

Dr. Zanasiu was hidden behind a cabinet.

Suddenly, the door opened and 7 guards, bearing either M4 carbines or Remington 870 shotguns, entered.

One of the guards, a Lion gestured to the group. "Drop your weapons and come with us."

In response, shotgun blast struck him in the chest.

Alfred took the opportunity to hide and Zachary took the opportunity to duck behind a nearby lab bench. He immediately opened fire. As Zachary fired, the guards scattered around the lab, seeking cover and returning fire.

The African Gray dove behind a lab bench and started firing in the direction where the shotgun blast came from.

Aisha and Dr Langston came, with guns blazing. two guards from wee-placed shots in the chest from Aisha. another was knoked outr colds by Dr Landon

Another shotgun blast from Dr. Zanasiu felled a guard trying to shoot Aisha. A quick burst of rifle fire from Zachary felled a guard who was trying to shoot Dr. Landon and wounded one who was trying to shoot Zachary.

Even Alfred did what he could, a well thrown fire extinguisher knocked out the African Gray scientist, who had nearly put a bullet in Zachary's head.

Nice shooting" Aisha commented as she took cover. there were only two guards left.. "Take the last couple out, then we need to head out.. shoot out any cameras you can find.' aisha said..

Dr. Zanasiu noticed a round camera in the middle of the lab. A quick shotgun blast turned the camera into unrecognizable pieces of plastic and metal.

"So do we search this lab for data and confiscate it or do we simply destroy whatever lab equipment we find?" Alfred asked from behind cover.

"I'm not sure if we'll see any paper data. I'd say trashing this lab would slow down Dragonstorm a lot. I'll bet they're still working on it even as we're shooting it out right now." Zachary replied, reloading his rifle. He then turned to Aisha and Dr. Landon. "Destroy or search the lab?"

The technician monitoring the life signs sensor in 451-G gasped as the monitor read "sensor malfunction". "Sir, the intruders in 451-G destroyed the sensor."

Dr. Branston grumbled. "451-G leader, what is your status?" he said into his portable radio.

"Under attack! There's only two of us left!" the Dhole squad leader shouted. He stood up to fire two shotgun blasts at Alfred. He ducked back down as a shotgun blast rocked the lab bench. He watched as his last remaining squad member was killed by a shotgun blast to the head.

Aisha fired and killed the group leader. "Destroy the lab, of course! Setr back Dragonstorm as much as possible!" She said. 'We may need evidence to hand back to the FBI and Justice Department when all is said and done..."

Alfred, Dr. Zanasiu and Zachary came out from behind cover.

"Well Alfred take whatever weapon you want." Dr. Zanasiu said.

Alfred shrugged and immediately grabbed a dead guard's Remington 870 shotgun. He searched every guard's bodies and came away with only 24 shells. "Looks like they were almost out of ammo." He reloaded his shotgun and looked around. He then turned to Aisha. "It's a bit ironic I came here to fix the place up and I end up trashing it." As he spoke, he blew up a computer with a shotgun blast, sending electronics flying. He was about to shoot a fumehood but Dr. Zanasiu stopped him.

"Let's not destroy anything that could get us sick or kill us. That means anything with the biohazard or radiation symbol, fumehoods, glove boxes, incubators and chemical storage are off limits. This applies to all the labs we sabotage. This particular lab has been used for cybernetics research so encountering any of those hazards is minimal." Dr. Zanasiu said. Having said that, he destroyed an EEG machine with a shotgun blast.

Zachary entered the utility closet and returned with a crowbar. He cut the lab X-ray machine's power and opened it up. He quickly cut all the wires inside and for good measure, smashed the emission window.
