Akio smiled back at Annete, as did Kuja, as the latter floated over to her side.
"Perhaps I can assist with Rhiga's laying, as well..."
He said quietly, smiling at her.

Rhiga smiled at all the support she was getting.

"Calm down guys. I'm still a while away from laying, and it isn't like I haven't done it three times before. It only takes a few minutes; the eggs slides right out. If you wanna help, you can help Adykon. I'll be fine... though I AM feeling kinda hormonal and broody."

Arianne went closer to Rhiga - "This may not be your first child, Rhiga, but I am sure will be the first to be born in a stable family, with you as part of it. To help Adykon is a must, because we are all part of this, but you are important for us too." - The female Panther said with her knwon gentle voice.

Eriol then said - "It is good that you are finally able to make your family, and I have learned in the last few years about families when I met Arianne. But I must admit that we will miss your abilities in our future combats." - he said with a grin.

"Right now, I don't really HAVE any ability in combat" Rhiga admitted. "I'm not really agile, I don't think I can run for very long, and my back is starting to hurt under the weight of the egg and my swollen tiotleglas. Marcus? Do you think you can come over here for a moment?"

Certainly' Marcus replied, heading over in her direction" what do you weant, my dear?" marcus was aware of the limitations pregnancy had placed on Rhigam, and the demands on fatherhood that would soon be placed on his shoulders. Marcus was confident that minna would help provide them with financial support, though with her own coming marraiage he would have to  build a relationship with Lucien, Minna's intended.

"Marcus, when this meeting is over, we still have to get married. Our last ceremony was... not very successful."

She could say that again. It had ended with her being captured by forces loyal to the Dark Master, and had her imprisoned under Asthia's tower for a long, long time.

Annette smiled at Rhiga and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"You are not a hinderance, you are simply preparing for something that comes natural. And if you need any more help I can send a message to my family, despite my lost ties with them, I'm sure they would at least try to aid you if they knew your position."
She then gently punched Kuja in the arm and said with a sly tone, "I don't know...have you even even witnessed an egg laying session before? It can be traumatic."

"Well, traumatic is not the word I would use to describe it; unless something goes wrong. THEN it is traumatic. The last three times were over in a few minutes each time, although laying the egg is the EASY part... getting it to hatch... that's uncharted territory for me." Rhiga replied.

Meanwhile...

Adykon turned around to find Eriol and Arianne.

"Excuse me. I know that we are going to be quite busy soon... what with this upcoming battle against the Dark Master... but I think we need to clear up some loose ends here" he told the panthers.

Eriol and Arianne were talking when Adykon arrived to where they are. - "Sure, Adykon, what do you need?" - Eriol said as he crossed his arms, he was quite serene, even though all this matter about Dememoras that frightened the very most of the people that were in the Hall just some moments ago. Maybe it is a way he has to show he has a respect and trust for the Dracon.

Arianne looked at Adykon too, but she said nothing, she was just waiting.

"What exactly are you two here for? I know you have talked to me and the others in the past, but there haven't been fully straight answers. At first, it was just you, Eriol, and then, your wife. Something happened to make you two come here. I think we ought to know what it was. I don't want any unexpected liabilities getting in our way." Adykon told them.

Eriol sighed and said. - "To make things short, Adykon: Back in our homelands, my family, the Dha'ar has been in a constant fight with another Panther family: the Moddan. the last member of that family: Sael Moddan planned and tried to kill me and my son, so my blood line would be terminated. I saw Arianne making the ultimate sacrifice to save my son as I was fighting all of Sael's friends in this... assault. I grabbed Isaac and took him to a family of friends, who accepted to take care of him until I dispose of the assassin. Then, after a while, I got to know he came here... to Dracon lands, that is the reason I was here to start with."

Arianne gave a step forward and said. - "But I didn't die there, a Healer that survived the attack, managed to save me... and he kept me hidden until I recovered. After checking on Isaac,  Iwent to find Eriol, and I came here, but all of my things were stolen just before arriving here to Minbenthac."

"And then she joined us..." - Eriol added. - "... maybe we don't have a true reason to be here, but we became involved in this battle, and we want to see how all of this will end." - Arianne nodded after hearing this.

"Well, that explains a lot." Adykon replied.

"Is there any chance that this will interfere with our mission? Do you think the assassin is in these lands? Also, why was he trying to kill the house of Dha'ar to begin with?"

Eriol frowned after hearing the question. - "I don't know if he is still in the Dracon Lands, but if he is, I don't think he'll be stupid enough to just appear. But since Arianne is alive and well, then Sael is now a secondary concern, as there are now bigger concerns with far greater risks. So I'll be waiting for him, to end all of this after Dememoras' fall."

Arianne then noticed that Eriol didn't reply Adykon's question. - "There has been a war between the Dha'ar and Moddan familes since too many generations. The reasons are now so far in the past that I am sure only Eriol and Sael know why. But I am sure this matter will not affect Eriol and I in our intentions to help you."

Adykon got the feeling that they weren't being totally honest... reasons for violent conflicts were well-remembered... conflicts of that kind tended to end once the reason was forgotten.

"How about you tell me the REAL reason why your two families are fighting?" Adykon replied. "It is VERY important that we know; I am going to take all our information to the priests and mages when this is all over, and see if they know anything about it. Every scrap of valid knowledge helps us, and we need every advantage we can get."

"Nobody ever said that the reasons were forgotten, Adykon." - he looked at Arianne, and then he looked back at Adykon. - "If you really want to know, the reason why Sael wanted to kill me is because I am an Assassin, just like him... or worse. My ancestors tried told me that my family has a gift, to enhance physical and mental strenght during combat, but that is in fact more like a curse. My family and I live for just one purpose: to kill. So, that is what I am: a soul-less and mercyless killer, just like everybody else in my family."

Arianne wanted to stop that, so she intervened. - "That is not true!, you are not soul-less!. You gave up your life of killing others to make a life with me!."

"There are only two ways to stop a Dha'ar like me: by killing me before I kill you, or by what happened when I met Arianne. She gave me true love, and that stopped this 'curse' on me." - He sighed. - "The Moddan were a fearless family of warriors that sworn to stop the first members of my family... but with time, they grew on hate as they killed us, and it became worse as my family retaliate with force. So it all became a senseless slaughter after another. Maybe they were just obsessed, feeding their children with stories of the carnages a Dha'ar can make.... and at the end, they just made them to become assassins.... pity, they are strong but they caused their own destructions, since my family was doomed from the start."

"So... the one you thought had killed your wife may have come here? That's quite a tale. I believe you. We'll keep a look out for anything, should it come to that."

Adykon had suspected that Eriol was some sort of assassin, or a mercenary like himself...

"You wouldn't be an assassin if you weren't under that curse, right?"

After hearing that last question, Eriol replied. - "I should have been more specific: the 'curse' is always there. It is just some circumstances that can make it... overwhelming. But you don't have to worry about that, I know myself enough to not succumb to that, I always know who is friend and who is foe. Maybe that is what made me an 'unwanted' child, as I never liked the carnage my brothers love to make when they were still alive, and I hope Isaac will be as able to control the curse as I am."

Arianne was kind of speechless. - "So it was because of me that you totally stopped killing others?"

Eriol responded affirmatively. - "Yes, and that's why I became so lost when you were... gone. The fact that you are here has been the best that could ever happen to me." - Arianne gave a more serene smile after hearing that.

"We should keep this knowledge to ourselves." Adykon replied. "We should tell the priests and mages the other information... but... the fewer people who know about how the curse works, the better. Dememoras won't hesitate to kill Arianne if he knows it will hurt you like that, Eriol, and believe me, I know from experience that he WILL do that."

Vaeri's death had affected him deeply, and he had no curse. Imagine what would happen to Eriol...

"I know what you mean Adykon, and I agree... that's a very strong reason for us to help you take down that Dark master." - Eriol said, as he indeed noticed that Adykon was remembering Vaeri.

Arianne nodded, and then she added. - "Thanks for keeping the information about Eriol's family from the priests and mages. I know you are strong and centered, but we may not be sure about the other people here that are no part of our group."
