The next morning...
The sun rose into the sky like a merciless orb of fire. Minbenthac was in a desert, after all. The dry heat of the morning slowly overcame the last vestiges of night, and before long, the streets were crowded with merchants, travelers, workers, and all sorts of other people who were going about their business.
Selturma rose to take Annette to see the mages at the palace, while Adykon had returned to Tallon's palace for the night. Vespion STILL wasn't back from his meeting with the high priest... but before it was even close to noon, the cleric returned, looking more than somewhat annoyed. Most of the party had agreed to meet in the courtyard of the king's palace, except for Jake, Rex, Selturma, Annette, and Kos... IF the latter counted as a "party member." Rhiga's sisters were also staying at Tallon's palace for the time being, unsure of what their futures held. Rhiga joined the other adventurers, but like Selturma, she was unable to continue to fight; the former because her martial arts skills could no longer inflict significant damage to ever more dangerous opponents, and the latter because... she was pregnant! And soon, Rhiga would have to take care of the egg... and the child who would hatch from it.
Adykon, for his part, approached Vespion.
"What did the priests ask you about?"
"They... well... it is a long story."
