The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"Your new armor is highly resistant to magical attacks. Spells launched directly against it have a high chance of being absorbed or reflected, provided that there isn't too much power behind the attack. Indirect attacks, such as using am exploding fireball that lands right next to you, however, will not be deflected. Fortunately, the armor is quite durable, so even if an attack does hit you, you ought to be protected to a good extent. You also have the ability to activate a transparent blue force field around yourself once every hour, even though this will force you to stay in place, as the field takes the shape of a dome. It should be large enough to cover you and anyone immediately surrounding you, but not everyone you are traveling with. Finally, the armor is designed so that it can easily accept enchantments placed in it, more so than a suit of armor that size and shape would suggest. If you wanted additional spells cast on it, that can easily be done." Kluthu had managed that whole speech without pausing once to take a breath; he was a dracon of unusual talents and abilities, notwithstanding his magic and color-changing!

Meanwhile...

"Yes, we should go to the armory anyway. Kayla, follow me. We can get you a weapon there."

Kayla gave a nod back to Vespion and started to follow him to the armory, wiping some of the blood that was still left on her mouth, yet, she just stayed quiet for the time being as they continued to walk onwards still.

She glanced at the servants around, yet, she said nothing at all as she then looked to Vespion again.  She was indeed, still wondering what kind of weapon she was going to get from the armory, although, she did have a rough idea of what she was after anyway.

Vespion asked and received permission for Kayla to take a weapon.

"Alright, Kayla. Take a look at the weapons. Tell me which one you like. You wanted daggers, so here's a collection for you to choose from."

The collection:

Kayla looked at the weapons that were shown to her, she was more looking at the ones at the end, the last two as she grabbed both of them, one in each hand and swung them around in her hands some.

She then made some stabbing-like motions with them before looking at the once again "They're.....quiet nice actually....they work out rather well, nice and light, but yet, oh so dangerous too....do you think I could perhaps have both of them? Or say, one kind, but two versions of it you know? One for each hand sort of thing"

(OOC: I actually forget the name of the last two daggers, I know the one with three points has a name, I just forget it is all)

"You can take both the sai and the katara, if you like. I'm sure that the armorers won't mind. And if they do, we can always buy you some blades that are just like those." Vespion was never told that Kayla could only take ONE blade. "Come to think of it... I could use one too. That first one, that dagger... I'll take that one."

"Yeah, that's true" Kayla replied back as she grabbed a belt as well, wrapping it around her waist before attaching the two weapons to the belt as well before she looked to Vespion again.

She decided not to say anything else to him at the moment, keeping quiet for now as she stood there, pretty much pleased with what she had gotten from the armory, which wasn't really much, but it was enough for her anyway, she at least now, had a weapon or two to defend herself with.

Eriol was ready talking with the blacksmith and other people there, he kept his new armor as the party was ready to leave in a new journey soon.

After a minute, he saw that Vespion and Kayla where there too and thought. - "Maybe I should go talk to them... why do I bother?" - he walked a couple more of steps. - "ohhh, ok." - he thought again as he turned around and went closer to Vespion and Kayla. - "Hello Vespion and... Kayla, right? are you all making a last minute shopping?" - he said trying to make a somewhat friendly smile.

"Well, we are being given these weapons by the king. This is his armory, you know. Even if we were buying armaments, he is paying for out expenses, at least, for the duration of the dangers. Until Dememoras is stopped." Vespion was still with Kayla, and Adykon was in a back room, putting on the new armor.

Kayla gave a nod to Eriol "Yeah, we're pretty much getting last minute stuff, I got these two daggers here for myself" she told him, motioning down to the dagger on the belt she was wearing.

"But other than that, nothing else I was really after, I just needed something to be able to defend myself with, and well, I am rather efficiant with daggers myself, only really weapon I know how to use, but hey, I'm happy with them myself" she added on with a bit of a smile as well.

Adykon stepped into view, covered in his golden armor. The plate mail suit covered almost his whole body, save for the end of his tail and the bottom of his feet; even his hands were covered on top by the golden metal. On his face, there was a helmet, covering his snout and the top of his head, with room for the horns, which were uncovered. As for his torso, legs, arms, and any other part, the armoring was almost indistinguishable from that of heavy human armor. Apart from being the heaviest armor he ever worse, Adykon had no problems with it.

"Well, how does it look? Shiny? I'll bet it is..."

Eriol looked at Kayla. - "Well, maybe you'll get to learn to use more weapons in our way to rescue Aerta. To use daggers can be dangerous if the enemy can avoid them, so it is always wise to have a plan-B." - He said with a serious tone, but not menacing in any way, it is like he is interested, maybe he saw Kayla's potential or maybe he is not interested to see any other member of the party to die or suffer.

As Adykon appeared, Eriol turned around to face him. - "Yes, the shinier armor I have ever seen." - He said while making a wide smile. - "You sure look like you are ready to take on anybody, I hope it will help you, but we are all still here as backup too."

"Plan B? I don't really have a Plan B myself" Kayla replied back to Eriol "My plan is just hit it, stab it and what have you until it's dead....I'm not slow in battle either" which was true too, she had speed, perhaps speed a human being shouldn't really have because of her being part vampire too, but something she wasn't going to tell anyone else apart from Vespion.

She then looked over to Adykon, her eyes widening a little bit "Whoa....that's....that looks really cool Adykon" she walked over to him and tapped his armour a little bit, seeing that it was rather sturdy, which seemed like it would be able to take on anything and still survive "Sorry, I just wanted to....yeah..." she gave off a small nervous laugh and stepped back over to Vespion again.

"Thanks for the compliment, Kayla. I'd appreciate the armor more if it wasn't so heavy. It's like wearing barding armor for a horse or camel. In any event, we all should go out in front of the palace, where we should meet up with the others. Once all of us are gathered in one place, we can head out."

Turning his head, Adykon saw Eriol as well. "You too, Gaean. We all should get going, if there's nothing else to do here."

Eriol gave a small laugh - "Nope, there is nothing else to do here, so you get the right idea, we should get going." - He turned to the exit and began walking, as soon as he did that, the smile dissapeared from his face as he completed his phrase only on his mind. - "... the sooner we finish this whole thing about Dememoras, the sooner I'll be able to get out of these lands."

The Gaean kept on walking, towards the main entrance.

Now, Adykon, Vespion, Eriol, and Kayla were waiting outside the palace gates. Still missing were Rhiga, Marcus, Minna, Ilsa, Lucien, Margas, Ku'ux, and Farstriker. They would all have to show up eventually, though. As soon as they did, the adventurers would depart, heading to find and rescue Aerta.

Until then, there wasn't much for Adykon and the others to do.

Meanwhile...

"Minna. My dear, are you ready yet? The others are waiting for us. We're probably the last two who didn't arrive." Lucien was impatient, but he need not have been.

"Yeah, I guess you're right, we should really get going....the Dark Master wont wait for us...." Kayla spoke as she started to walk off as she followed Eriol towards the main entrance.

Walking towards the main entrance were Ku'ux and Farstriker, talking with each other as well.

"Looks like Adykon got some new armour" Ku'ux spoke with a slight snort as well as he noticed in the distance, the the Human, the two Dracons and the Gaean walking towards them.

"Rather interesting, it looks good, and hopefully that it's also sturdy enough to take on attacks, then again, with what the Dracons have proven with armour and weapons, I wouldn't be suprised if that's what it is, able to take on great amount of damage with ease" Farstriker replied back to Ku'ux.

Adykon looked at Ku'ux and Farstriker. The latter one was well-equipped, but the former...

"Ku'ux, are you sure you have enough armor? Er... you don't seem to have much besides..." It wasn't much more than shorts, really. "You don't need to dress that lightly in our lands, you know. Even female Dracons can wear something over their top..."

"I do thank you for your concern Adykon, but I am rather fine the way I am, I have fought like this many times" Ku'ux replied back to Adykon once the two of them had arrived.

Farstriker folded his arms by that point, glancing at Ku'ux for a moment before looking over to Kayla, whom he saw wasn't as happy as she was before "Are you quiet alright Kayla?" he decided to ask her.

"Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine, I've just got a bit of a preocupied mind is all, just thinking of something, that's all" Kayla replied back, giving Farstriker a smile back.

"Well, if you say so....but if you need anything, to talk or anything like that, you can come to me if you wish" Farstriker reassured her.

"Y-yeah...." Kayla answered back, going a bit quiet again as she wasn't sure if that was the best thing to do, to talk to Farstriker about her problems as at the moment, she did only seem to trust Vespion, whom had been rather understanding of her so far.

"So Farstriker, do you know Ku'ux or Kayla? The three of you are all new arrivals to our lands, it seems. What are your lands like, Ku'ux? Are they-" Vespion was curious to know, but he was cut off by Adykon.

"I've fought their kind before, Vespion. While Ku'ux is far better than most, Minotaurs as a whole are little more than animals that stand upright and can talk. I don't know if that's a fault of their culture or their creation, but in any case, they are little better than hired muscle, bought by the pound by whatever warlord wishes to have some unthinking killers at his beck and call."

Vespion was quite surprised to hear Adykon say such things.

"I think we ought to let Ku'ux speak for his own people. Just... let him talk, warrior."

"Watch your tounge Dracon" Ku'ux snorted quiet a bit as he walked over to Adykon "Just because you have fought our kind before, does not mean a thing, that does not mean what we are like" he spoke with another snort again.

"This is not going to go so well..." Farstriker spoke as he watched the small argument between Adykon and Ku'ux and decided to interupt "Might I interject here for a moment, Adykon, I have to agree with Ku'ux on the matter that just because you have fought Minotaurs before, does not mean all Minotaurs are the same, perhaps a village that he comes from is much different than where you have been and fought them before"

He paused for a moment before speaking again "We do not need to make enemies amongst ourselves, we all have a common enemy we are to be taking down, the Dark Master, or what he is also known as, Dememoras, fighting amongst ourselves is not going to help the cause at all"
