Ramiki had to smile. Hali was always trying to make Ramiki feel better. "Thanks Hali. You're a great friend. I'm sorry for getting you mixed into this" Ramiki said.

"Take them away!" the black lion command. "Someplace where I don't have to see them! And if they escape...kill them both."

The panthers holding the cubs carried them off deeper into the maze of massive bones, escorted by panthers to ensure no one will escape alive. They soon stopped at the entrance to a small cavern wide enough for a water buffalo, and entered into a small cave. The panthers tossed the cubs deeper into the cavern and exited to stand guard at the only pathway in and out of the chasm...

Hali sighed, they did seem stuck for the moment with the panthers blocking their path and ordered to kill them even if they did try to run off.

Nala gave a nod of greeting back, "Matsu...it's good to see you again, though I admit I'm not too comforted by the look on your face...what's wrong?" she glanced from the leopard (?) to Kopa once more.

"Panthers have been discovered near some of the lions, my Queen," Matsu replied, grimly. "And...some cubs may have gone missing. We don't know why, but the panthers might have something to do with it."

Nala frowned in worry even as she answered her son, "Panthers have been spotted nearby, in the Pridelands and...cubs missing?" she turned back towards Matsu, "...which cubs?" she asked almost hesitantly.

Vitani who had just woken up walked back to Pride Rock in hopes that the cubs had gone back there. But, the minute she got there and heard what Matsu said. Her face turned a pale white. "Please tell me you have seen Ramiki and Hali recently" She said quite panicked.

"They were with Vitani at the watering hole," Matsu answered. "They were playing in the water very close to where I spotted two panthers on the bank. They took off when I approached, and I chased them until they parted in different directions. I came back to the watering hole to speak to the other lions. Then there was word that the cubs weren't in sight. I could only hope I'm wrong about the panthers' involvement with the cubs..."

"I'm sure they left tracks, you two go an ahead, I'll grab what I can of some of the other lioness and be right after" Nala told both Kopa and Matsu before making haste to turn and do such.

Meanwhile, as she lay there, not moving to cause trouble, Hali found she couldn't fall asleep either. They'd come here to spy and figure out something of the plan, so best to keep listening while not looking like she was she figured, even if that mean lion wasn't likely to come over and start discussing how he would get the Pridelanders and such.

"I remember the scent of the panthers well, my Prince," Matsu said. "If we get some others to get a good whiff of the smell, they cane search elsewhere."

Outside the cave, the panthers on guard spotted others approaching.

"What do you need?" one asked.

"More prisoners for the time being."

"A few hyenas too stupid to leave when they had to."

"Filthy vermin..." the first replied. "Why not kill them now?"

"Not without the commander's orders."

"Fine then... Alright, you stinking hyenas! In you go!"

Three forms came tumbling into the cave...

Hali got up and backed up as strangers were put in with them, and by the scent they smelled like hyenas...

"Ramiki..." she whispered, not wanting to disturb him if he had fallen asleep but not wanting to face this alone either.

The three hyenas happened to be Bonsai, Shanzi, and Ed. Ed would've continued to giggle if he hadn't bit his tongue...

The leopard led the way from Pride Rock until he meets up with a pack of African spotted dogs. Speaking quickly with the leader, a hunting pack of the dogs left with Matsu and Kopa back to the watering hole.

Ramiki was wide awake and cuddled up beside Hali. "Don't worry I got your back" Ramiki said . He would never have let Hali face these Hyenas alone. But these Hyenas were keeping it cool. So Ramiki didn't see a threat.

Hali nodded, noticing the same as Ramiki. She wanted to say hi or something, but was half afraid that in itself might cause trouble, so just kept quiet to wait and see what the hyena's did.

Nuteri approached her. "You are showing the concern of a mother.. which is good' the babboon smiled. "We'll get them back, but it wion't be easy, especially if panthers are involved.."
