As Anna was swimming around, she began to feel lightheaded and weaker.
Aw, crap. I didn't eat breakfast, she thought to herself as she headed for shore. Ducky happened to notice Anna was exiting the water, and swam over to her.
"Do you not want to swim anymore, Anna?" Ducky asked.
"Of course I wanna swim, Ducky. It's just that I have not eaten yet today and here I am doin' strenuous activity. I'll be right back after I get some food," Anna replied.
"Oh, can I come? Please?" Ducky asked.
"Sure, why not?" Anna responded as she lifted Ducky up out of the water with her tail and placed Ducky on her open right palm.
"You have got the shakies, yes you do," Ducky said. "That happens to me if I have not eaten yet. It does, it does."
"Yeah, and I bet it happens to the others. It's a result of there not bein' enough sugar in your blood," Anna replied as she headed over to a nearby tree that was full of lush treestars.
"What is sugar?" Ducky asked.
"Well, in this sense, it's what makes treesweets so sweet. The stuff that tastes sweet is called sugar in the human world. We need to keep our blood sugars up, and if we don't, we could eventually become very sick or even die," Anna said before she chewed a mouthful of treestars.
"Oh, that would be terrible, yep yep yep!" Ducky gasped. "What did you mean by 'in this sense'?"
"Well, we also use that term in reference to a person with a sweet personality, especially one with an insanely sweet personality," Anna said before she ate another fistful of treestars.
"I do not know what an insanely sweet personality is, no no no," Ducky said.
"That surprises me, 'cuz you've got one," Anna piped before she took another bite.
"Me?" Ducky asked.
"Yup. You're a very, very sweet girl. Don't ever let that part of your personality go sour," Anna replied as she handed Ducky a couple of treestars. "Want them? I took more than I can eat."
"Thank you," Ducky giggled as she accepted Anna's offer.
"Another thing, Ducky. When you're older and much bigger, please do learn how to grow a pair and stick up for yourself. I'd hate to see such a nice swimmer be picked on or used by others," Anna said as she walked back toward the water.
"I do not know what 'grow a pair' means, but I think I do understand what you are saying, yes I do," Ducky giggled. "I am glad to see you are okay now."
"Thanks, Ducky," Anna replied. "Ready to go back in the water?"
"I always am, yep yep yep," Ducky chirped. Anna rolled her eyes.
"Sometimes I wonder why I ask the obvious," Anna chuckled as she set Ducky down before the two returned to swimming.
