The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Listening to the story once more, she didn't mind the jumping aheads, as that happened to her a lot and usually ends in great confusion on both her and her listener's part. She noted that Pangaea handled this more clearly, and added that to the list of What She Can Learn from Him.

Her eagerness was soon replaced with concern at hearing about the conflicts and the injuries. Seems everything isn't so peaceful in the Valley as she had been led to believe. She hoped everyone was recovering okay...... A result from this worrying and concern, her spazziness disappeared completely, at least for the time being. The story pausing, she offered a calm smile.

"I have the tense problem, and honestly....I don't ever notice it on my own. Guess that's why it's so hard for me to fix; I don't really know what I'm looking for. So no worries on that department. And that was a nice thing ya did for Mr. Threehorn. Hopefully, you've succeeded in making him a tad bit more accepting of GOF members...."

She cringed at the thought of Mr. Threehorn finding out about her; he reminds her too much of her dad and thus, he's someone to be avoided...

"Oh, and no problem about the fan thing. I'm alright with boundaries and I'm more than happy to tone it down to being friends." She gave an embarrassed chuckle. "My spazziness does make me go overboard sometimes." That's the understatement of the year! "I hope it doesn't scare you or anything. And I'm also sorry for any discomfort it might cause for the both of you."

Speaking of which, you might as well warn them now. That thought coming, she awkwardly rubbed her hand against her arm a bit, avoiding all eye contact, thoroughly embarrassed and nervous about her words. "Some time in the future, it'll no doubt get to a situation where you'd probably feel threatened by me.... See, I can occasionally get violently explosive when I'm mad and I've completely destroyed many an inanimate objects while screaming and yelling at the top of my lungs, but I swear to Cama Zotz that I'm harmless to you even then." She folded her wrists to hide her claws under her body to emphasize her harmlessness. "And stuff like that happens veeeeeeeery rarely." She hopes her chances of befriending them isn't ruined by that little confession....

Daniel had finally made it to the Great Valley and rather ungracefully landed on top one of the walls that shielded it from the Mysterious Beyond. He lay on his stomach panting from the flight. "How do they keep that up?" he said to no one as he caught his breath. He got up and walked to the edge so he could overlook the valley, his beak dropped open as he stared is awe. "Wow, it's ten times better seeing it in the flesh," he said and then sat down as he still regained his strength.

(As I've said before I'm going to call my character Nana from now on)

Nana, Lizzie, and Skitter had been walking for a few hours, when they saw a huge rock formation.

"Skitter, does that big rock look familiar to you?" Lizzie asked.

"Well, now that ya mention it, it does look kinda familiar now that I think about it..." Skitter answered.

Nana just pretended to listen in on their conversation, when she wassorting out a whirlwind of problems in her mind. "If I'm in the LBT universe, how will I get home? This sounds kind of like that RP I wanted to join, that "In The Land Before Time" RP...if it is, could there be other GOF members here?"

"Nana!"

"Huh, what?"

"We were asking you if you recognize this place," Skitter said.

"Nope, I'm completely clueless on this one," Nana answered. "But, let's check it out anyways." Soon, they were all walking towards the rocks.

"That smells familiar...Lizzie! We're home!" Skitter exclaimed.

"Home? You mean..." Lizzie wondered. Skitter nodded as an answer, and they both ran off towards a small cave. Nana started after them.

"Skitter, Lizzie! Wait!" she called as they dissapeared into the hole.

Nana followed them, as she was at the end, a blinding flash of sunlight stopped her, but when her eye's adjusted, she saw a sight that shocked her half to death.

What was in front of her...was the Great Valley.

Zaine stepped forward to answer back the Clubtail's question. "My name is Zaine. Rob..." he realized he couldn't explain that Rob created him, because the others probably wouldn't understand him at all. Also, Rob created him to live on without his parents, and he feared the Clubtail would use that knowledge against him. "I'm a close friend of his! I've known him for a long time now, and I can tell you that what you're saying about him is wrong!"

"He's not a murderer!" Littlefoot yelled back. "He didn't kill anybody! You don't understand! He was bitten by a fast biter, and he turned into one!"

"Save it," Rob muttered. "Nobody's going to believe you two. The voices of two longneck kids won't go very far in convincing adults."

"How can you say that?" Zaine asked.

"Because that's how life works," Rob replied bluntly. "Where I come from, adults rarely listen to children in terms of what's right or wrong. It's just part of their nature." As he said this, he noticed a fight was starting to break out between Longtail and Cyrix. Rob knew just as well how stubborn Longtail could be towards his uncle, but he hated seeing the two of them fight like this. This is probably crazy, but I'm not going to let them tear each other apart. Before Longtail could make contact with Cyrix, Rob sprinted with his new found speed until he was between them. He placed out his hands out to restrain them from coming too close.

"Rob, what are you doing?" Zaine asked. He knew how Longtail felt about sharpteeth, and he had a bad feeling about what was going to happen.

"That's enough!" Rob yelled at both Cyrix and Longtail. "This isn't right! You two are family! You shouldn't be fighting like this!" He looked at Longtail, whom he could tell was full of rage. "Cyrix is only concerned about you, Longtail! He only wants what's best for you! I know how hard it is to live your life without parents, but that's what Cyrix has become to you now!" He then looked at Cyrix. "Is hurting him really going to make a point? You can't just resort to violence every time he rebels against you! He's a kid who's gone through a really messed up past! He needs your support, not your beatings!"

James suddenly found himself in front of a small lake surrounded by a grassy plain. A forest was nearby and he could see several dinosaurs in the distance. James himself was lying on the ground, semi-conscious.

"What the f--- just happened? And why does it feel like I fell down the stairs and hit my head?" he said.

Suddenly, as his vision cleared he realized where he was. "Wait? What?! Lakes, trees, grass? Damn, I must have hit my head really hard. I hope someone finds me and calls 911 before I die."

James then staggered to his feet and noticed something. He looked at himself and noticed that he was covered in a soft coat of feathers and his hands had only three fingers.

His cry of "WHAT THE F---!" echoed around the area.

“Thank you, for all of those things,” Pangaea said, immensely grateful to Sparky for being so understanding. “By the way, one thing you’ll find out about meóif I haven’t told you already on the GOFóis that I can be incredibly absentminded. I was just afraid that I might have sounded hypocritical there, forgetfully switching between tenses when I’d cited that as a mistake in your stories.”

“And that’s okay about the spazziness thing; I’m pretty sensitive, and it’s just unfortunately rather easy to annoy or embarrass me. Just…don’t act like you worship me and everything should be fine.”

Another thought occurred to him. “You, uh, also might not want to act too crazy around the native valley dinosaurs, at least until they’ve gotten a chance to know you. You might scare some of them.”

Pangaea too was thinking about how Mr. Threehorn would react to Sparky. “And if we ever run into Mr. Threehorn, I promise I’ll do my best to convince him you’re harmless, and to let you stay in the valley.”

Guido looked a little nervous after Sparky warned them about her outbursts. Pangaea guessed that the thought of such a large creature with such potentially lethal weaponry flying into a rage frightened him. Pangaea, however, simply nodded his head in response, his expression unchanging. “Don’t worry,” he told Sparky sincerely. “I trust you.”

He looked to Guido. “Believe me, Guido, I’ve never actually met her face-to-face before, but I know her from the GOFóthat’s another extremely complex concept that I’ll have to explain to you lateróand she’s a very good friend of mine. I believe her when she says she’d never hurt us.”

“Uh…o–o–okay,” Guido agreed, “but I’m making a list of things you’re going to have to tell me about; so far I’ve got autographs, the jee-oh-eff…oh, and Cama Zotz; who the heck is Cama Zotz?”

“All right, great; we’ll explain that stuff to ya after I’m done with the story,” Pangaea said, smiling approvingly. He turned back to Sparky. “Uh, you do want me to continue, right?”

Longtail his eye sight clouded with rage and anger looked up at Rob and roared a response in sharptooth.

Cyrix was both glad to see Rob step in and knew that he was right, but even still Cyrix still held his ground. "You speak the truth Rob, but this is something Longtail has needed, for a long long time!"

Rick could see this not ending well no matter how many ways this could play out, and in the end he clenched his fists and shouted "I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!" The human then changed back into his Saltasaurus form, and upon seeing Longtail about to lunge at Rob, reached forward and gripped the enraged flyer by the nape of his neck. Without thinking he tossed Longtail away from Cyrix and inadvertently sent the flyer landing right in front of the mother clubtail.

Longtail after feeling himself being lifted off the ground and tossed away from his targets he blinked and roared at the mother clubtail, clawing at the ground and whipping his tail through the air in a challenging manner. He was preparing to lunge at the clubtail as well willing to draw blood from anyone within range, however he never got the chance.

Rick had stepped up behind Longtail and gently but firmly placed his front right paw down on the flyers back preventing him from moving. Rick then bowed his head and looked the mother clubtail straight in the eyes. "Ma'am, this flyer you see under my foot... he is a true killer. A monster. That fastbiter behind me, is a very good friend of mine, and I know for a fact that he would never harm anyone, but this flyer... this one right here... would no doubt try to harm you and your young ones if he got the chance. So if I were you ma'am I would think very carefully before you insult anyone again."

Cyrix continued to stare at Rob with a critical eye.
"You seem to know a lot considering you've only been here a short while. Care to tell me how you know so much child?" he questioned with curiosity in his voice but with a hint of a challenge. He then noticed that Rick was moving back with Longtail gripped in his teeth again, this time his nephew seemed to be trying to speak through his anger at Rick.
'Seems I may have a thing or two to learn after all.' thought the rainbow face to himself.

Zaine winced a bit while he watched Rick restrain Longtail. He knew Rick was only trying to protect Rob, but at the same time he hated to see his "brother" be forced like this. He felt like he needed to defend Longtail just to erase confusion. "Longtail can lose control of himself sometimes," he explained to the Clubtail, "but he would never intentionally hurt anybody else. He's not a monster." Zaine walked towards Rick who still had a grip on Longtail. "Longtail, please try and calm down," he consoled his "brother". "Don't lose control over your emotions, not here."

Littlefoot was in a bit of shock from seeing Longtail and Cyrix go at each other, and even more surprised that Rick was pinning everything on Longtail over Rob. At the same time, he knew why Rick was doing what he did, and that filled him with some sense of hope. "Please, you have to believe us! Rob would sooner hurt himself before he tried to kill anybody else!"

Rob watched as Rick restrained Longtail, and he actually felt sorry for both of them. He could only imagine how much rage Longtail was filled with, but at the same time he thought about how hard it must have been for Rick to talk about Longtail that way, even if parts of it were somewhat true. As Rick approached them again, Rob faked a smile. "Thanks, Rick." He then turned back to Cyrix, who was now interrogating him about how he knew as much as he did. "Where I'm from, I created Zaine, and Rick created Longtail. Long story short, it was our way of putting ourselves in the Great Valley universe because we knew we could never be a part of it, but you already know that much." Rob looked back at Longtail and Zaine. "In our world, we created adventures that Longtail and Zaine shared. You could call it a game if you wanted, but we pretended that we were our characters and we went on various journeys with each other as well as others." He looked back at Cyrix. "It's a lot more complicated than it sounds, but that's why I know so much about you two. I created Zaine to be a brother to Longtail, and in case to share the same pain that he did. That's the foundation of their bond. They've both experience such terrible pasts that they can really connect with each other."

Sparky was glad her admitted 'anger issue' didn't ruin anything and she felt all the better with Pangaea's unwavered trust in friendship (which flattered her greatly) and Guido's adorable cluelessness on certain terms. When Pangaea mentioned how easily annoyed he was, she grinned. "Well, if I annoy you, don't hesitate to tell me to leave you alone; I'm plenty used to that. I can be a bit clingy to people, especially in a situation like this. And I always feel like my presence alone is enough to irritate folks."

She thought about how to limit her spazziness in front of the resident dinos, and figured it won't be too hard......maybe.... "I'll try my best to stay in check around the others. Should help that there's no chocolate here to fuel my system." She had the random thought of what she would taste like to a sharptooth with all the sweets she's been eating.... Hmmmm, well that's a mystery she didn't think she'd wanna solve right now. Anywho....

She nodded eagerly to his last question. "Please, continue. This story's good enough to be made into a novel or something. And it won't hurt for me to be aware of current events for once... The way you tell your story's certainly a lot better than the news." The dreaded news of boredom.... She shuddered at the thought.

Pangaea smiled. “Thanks again,” he said. “And don’t worry; I’m not really that easy to annoy; it’s just certain things, like, uh…singing, sometimes, and…clichÈd pop culture references and impressions.” He cocked his head contemplatively as he tried to think of more examples. “And…that’s…all I got for now, but I know I’m missing some. At any rate, I’ve built up a degree of tolerance to a lot of things that used to bother me, and I’m used to craziness; believe me, it runs in my family. I have two wiseguy parents, three brilliant-but-wacko siblings, and a cat to whom the term ëspazz’ has actually been applied. My mom says that we could be our own sitcom.”

“Okay,” Guido announced, “I’m adding chocolate, novels, pop culture, and sitcoms to my list.”

“What about cats?” Pangaea asked.

“I already heard you telling Ducky about cats last night,” Guido reminded him.

“Oh, right,” Pangaea said. “Speaking of which…” He took another deep breath. “Now, where was I?” he pondered. “Threehorns…skywater…chickens…” he muttered randomly as he tried to think. “Right; it was rainingóer, skywateringóand I went looking for Guido because I was afraid he’d been caught out in it. While I’m out, I pass by Petrie’s family’s nest, and Petrie’s motheróturns out her name’s Rebecca, by the wayóinvites me in. Turns out that Guido’s not there, but all her kids are really interested to meet me, so I tell them about my meeting with Screech and the other things that had happened to me so far. By the time I’m done with the story, the storm is over, so Petrie’s family helps me look for Guido; that’s when I flew into a tree for the second time.” He suppressed a chortle. “A pine tree, no less.”

“Anyway, one of Petrie’s brothers found Guidoóhe’d been asleep in a tree hollow the whole timeóso I went back to the cave to check in with the others. While I’m there, I get to meet Littlefootólemme tell ya, it’s so weird being shorter than him,” he chuckled, “óand explain the concept of computers to him; add that to your list, Guido. After that, just about everyone went down to the Thundering Falls. I waded in to investigate the freshwater flora and fauna of the Great Valley. Inevitably, I end up going for an unintended swim, so I decide to just paddle around for a while and continue my observations. Eventually I get hungry, so I get out of the water and look for some food. Eventually I find a grapevine growing up a tree; I climb it, I eat some grapes, I try to pick some to take with me, I fall out of the tree and it rains grapes on my head, I pick up the grapes and my dignity and head back to the Falls.” The expression on Pangaea’s face showed that he was trying very hard to hold back a laugh.

“Okay…now…after that I talked with Amy for a while about how exactly we all got here in the first place, then we both talked with Anna for a bit about the same subject.” He paused. “You know, Guido, I think you could tell a little bit of this story right now.”

“Oh, yeah!” Guido agreed. He wasn’t much of a storyteller, but he was pleased to be included in the conversation once again. “Well, you see, uh…Anna was doing some…fishing, she called it, and she had all these silver splashers stuck on a stick that she was going to eat. Later I met her and Ducky at the Fire Cracks where she’d…cooked the splashers, and I asked to try one. It was, uh…” he chuckled sheepishly, “…a little hotter than I expected.”

“Yeah, his yelp of pain brought me running,” Pangaea smirked. “He liked the fish, though. I had some myself, and some other dinosaurs and GOF members came over to try some, too. Good thing Anna had plenty. We just hung around her campfire for a while…talking a little bit, listening to the others talk…until eventually everyone sorta dispersed and it was just us and a couple others.”

Pangaea took a few long, shuddering breaths in an attempt to relax himself. “Okay,” he said, “now we come to the point in the story where things start going wrong…”

Nana looked at the Valley in shock. She must be dreaming. There was just no possible explanation other than it must be a dream.

Once again, she lifted one of her hind legs and smashed it down on her tail, and again, she let out a yowl of pain.

As the pain lifted, she started to walk around the huge bowl. It was lush and green, and full of plant life and dinosaurs. As soon as she saw one, it was hard to hold back a loud yell of excitment. "Ha! Beat THIS, Brenden!" she boasted in her mind.

Suddenly she heard chatting in the distance, she looked around and saw two birds of some sort, but one of the birds looked rather familiar. "Is that Guido?" she wondered.

And another dinosaur with HUGE claws. She walked over to a nearby bush and decided to eavesdrop on their conversation...

Unaware of the eaves-dropper as she's too absorbed in the story, Sparky vaguely wonders how long Guido's list is going to be and she couldn't hold in a soft laugh at the thought. Especially when Pangaea continued the story, with the raining grapes and having to pick up his dignity. She admired the choice of words, having winced when he mentioned slamming into a pine tree.

That has got to hurt.... her thought echoed. She supposed his feathers would help with the impact, but those pine needles had to be uncomfortable even then.

Her thoughts then resuming to both review the story so far and take in the new incoming parts at the same time, she was especially enlightened to recall the name of Petrie's mother.....That's a very interesting piece of info; learn something new everyday.

The burning of the fishy part definitely got a laugh out of her; she wished she could've been there. But seems Guido's okay, so that's what matters. Then the dark words of the last sentence returned her attention to its highest peak. She having a bad feeling here, and shifted a bit, preparing to hear something that could be tragic. "What? What happened?"

Rebecca watched her children eat and decided to take some for herself and her brother.

"Kids, behave yourselves, I need to speak with your uncle, I don't need any prying eyes on us." She stated sternly, though she had a smile in her eyes with mischief. Terry looked at her mother puzzled and concerned, what would this talk be about?

Rebecca flew down next to her brother and stated, "Here are some berries, I know you aren't really a fan of them, but you need your strength." She nudged them towards him with her hand.

Pterano looked at them, hesitating whether or not to take them. But he takes them anyway and decides to at least try them, for his sister's sake.

"Pterano, I need to talk to you about what's happening and where you were last night." She sternly stared at him.

Pterano gulped his berries unpleasantly, half because he didn't like them, but also he figured his sister would confront him where he was as well.
--------------
Tria smiled at her daughters and then looked at Topsy with a warm smile.

Mr. Three Horn looked at Cera and stated, "Cera...right after breakfast, please take Tricia with you and play. Tria and I need to talk about something."

Tria looked at Mr. Three Horn with a bewildered expression, but Mr. Three Horn mouthed, "It's important."
-------------
Other Great Valley dinosaurs were bewildered at everything that was going on. Two flyers fighting, a fast biter, a few other newcomers.

The mother Clubtail nudged her children away to keep them safe from what was going on, alas others surrounded the chaos that was going on and made different comments on what was happening.

"See what happens when newcomers come in? It won't be for long until we break out and fight against each other!"

Iggy to his horror saw what was going on and spoke out to the accusing Greally Valley members, "You guys are paranoid! Let these newcomers alone!"

Cera gulped down her food in response to her father.

"Uh...sure.  Let's wrap it up, Tricia," Cera said, knowing the two would be finished shortly.  Once they were finished, he threehorn sisters headed out to find their friends.

---------------------

It wasn't long before Ms. Swimmer noticed Anna looking over her own tail.  She gasped as she quickly made her way over to get a better look.

"Hey, what happened to your tail?" Ms. Swimmer asked in a concerned manner.

"Oh, some stupid fastbiter bit me on the tail.  It's not too serious," Anna repled with a smile.

"Well, if you insist.  Just let me know if it gets any worse," Ms. Swimmer said.

"Thanks," Anna replied as Ducky's siblings came up and started swimming within proximity of her.

"You're welcome, and I think you have some new fans," Ms. Swimmer chuckled.

"That means they like you and feel safe, yep yep yep," Ducky added as she joined her siblings.

“Well, you see, Amy was feeling responsible for Red Claw’s attacks on the valley, and uncomfortable because she felt like some of the valleyers blamed her for it. So she and Pterano were going to leave the valley, but she didn’t want to go without telling anyone. So she asked me to let the others know where she went. But I stupidly insisted on going with her and Pterano to the edge of the valley to see them off, and without telling anyone either.” He looked down in shame. “Not even Guido.”

“So after I say good bye to them, I’m on my way back, alone, and who do I run into? Ozzy and Strut.”

“Who’s Ozzy and Strut?” Guido asked. He clapped a hand to his mouth. “Oh, sorry; did you want me to wait until you were doneó?”

“Oh, no, that I can tell you about right now,” Pangaea said. “Ozzy and Strut are a couple of egg stealers who came to the valley a while back. I don’t know how long ago exactly, but it was back when the gang first met Chomper. They found his egg after chasing Ozzy and Strut into the Mysterious Beyond, and thought it belonged to Ducky’s family, so they brought it back to the valley and hatched it. Eventually Chomper’s parents showed up, took Chomper away, and chased Ozzy and Strut out of the valley. Apparently they’d been hiding out in the Land of Mists since then.”

“Anyway, it turns out they chose this exact moment to come back to the valley.” He sighed. “Again, I don’t know what I was thinking; I stopped them and tried to convince them to go back to the Mysterious Beyond. I mean, I’m not exactly intimidating,”óhe gestured at his small, feather-covered bodyó“but I did spook them a little when they found out how much I knew about them.” He shook his head. “I wasn’t trying to be a hero or anything; I just would’ve rather avoided any more trouble. I didn’t want Ozzy and Strut hurting anyone, and I didn’t really want them to get hurt, either. And we had enough problems and drama already without a couple of bumbling egg stealers loose in the valley.”

“At any rate, Ozzy was too stubborn to listen to me, so I tried harder to bluff them into leaving. Eventually I manage to subdue them…”óHe rolled his eyes, his voice saturated in sarcasmó“…by inadvertently making them laugh themselves silly.”

“Now, up to this point, nothing seriously disastrous has happened, but then, all of a sudden, Screech and Thud show up again! My guess is they took the same route into the valley as Ozzy and Strut; they might have even been following them. As you can guess, the next moment all three of us were running for our lives. Ozzy and Strut got away just fine; I don’t think Screech and Thud were after them at all. It was me they wanted. And unfortunately, it was me they got. I almost got away, but Screech jumped up and caught me just as I managed to get airborne. Obviously he didn’t kill me, but I sure thought that was the end for me right there.”

“Now, the thing is, Guido saw me getting captured, so he went and told everyone else and helped lead a rescue party to save me.” He looked down at Guido. “Again, I can’t express how grateful I am that you did that.”

“Oh, you’re welcome,” Guido replied, smiling fondly.

“Why don’t you tell us what happened to you?” Pangaea suggested.

“Oh, okay,” Guido agreed. “Well, after I was done eating, I noticed Pangaea was gone, so I went looking for him. I saw those fast biters catch him up by the Great Wall, and…well, uh, I freaked out.”

“That’s understandable,” Pangaea interjected.

“Now, uh…to be honest I didn’t really do anythingóyou know, besides running around screaming my head offóuntil Petrie’s mom found me and got me to calm down. Then Mr. Threehorn showed up and I told him what happened. I guess he was still grateful to Pangaea for healing his foot, because he gathered everybody right away to rescue him. I just showed them where to go.”

“Now, meanwhile,” Pangaea said, “Screech and Thud had taken me back to Red Claw. I can’t tell you much other than that I was scared to death; I couldn’t understand anything they said to one another ëcause I don’t know Sharptooth. Screech just continued to hold onto me while Red Claw sent Thud off to do something. I didn’t know what at the time, but after a while other fast biters started to show up, and Red Claw and Screech sent them off to hide all around the place, so I think Thud’s job was to round up other fast biters to help them. And then eventually I figured it out: Red Claw was using me as bait. He knew that the others would try to save me, and I think he was hoping to draw Amy out so that he could catch her.” He shivered. “It was a frighteningly good plan; it almost worked. I’m worried the leafeaters here have been underestimating sharpteeth.”

“Now, uh…surprisingly enough, the first thing the rescue party did was try to negotiate with the sharpteeth,” Pangaea said, uncertain of how to describe what had happened next.

“Yeah, that Chronicler guy came up with the idea of using Chomper to talk to the sharpteeth and see if he could get them to release Pangaea,” Guido said.

“Thank you, Guido,” Pangaea said. “Yes, Chronicler, Chomper, Ruby, and another GOF member who’s a fast biteróhe calls himself Clawóthey went up to meet with Thud and Screech…who was still holding me, by the way. I tried to tell them what I had found out, but Screech kept me from saying anything.” Pangaea gulped quietly, absently touching a hand to the bruise on his throat where Screech had pressed a claw against it. “Of course, Screech and Thud weren’t willing to make any deal; then Chronicler lost his temper and…” He sighed and shook his head. “I don’t wanna badmouth the guy, but he said some things I really wish he hadn’t, about humans being all-powerful and superior to sharpteeth.” Pangaea’s expression and tone of voice as he recounted what Chronicler had said made it very clear that he did not agree with it.

“As you would expect, Screech and Thud are really ticked off, and so is Red Claw. I guess he gave the signal to attack right then, because the next moment, it’s chaos. Fast biters everywhere, attacking everybody. I actually didn’t catch much of the fight, though, because the first thing Screech did was run away from it. I think he was pretty determined to…do something unpleasant to me in return for what I did to him the night before.”

((OOC: Not a prob!! You can continue where you left off; I'm just gonna put my non-verbal responses of what you said so far :) ))

Normally, the concept of Pangaea meeting one of her favorite characters would send her into another spazz attack, but this was serious and she knew it. Though the stubbornness of Ozzy didn't surprise her at all, the appearance of Screech and Thud did. She was relieved her fav Egg Stealer got away unharmed, but horrified that Pangaea got caught, even though she knew he's alright with him standing in front of her, telling the story with Guido.

Man, where's my GIR blanket when I need it? Her GIR blanket was one of her most prized blankets and she always had it wrapped around her when she's watching or listening to something intense like this. She especially wanted it when she heard of Red Claw's plot. She didn't know the old sharptooth was capable of doing such a thing. And she couldn't help but shake her head when she heard of Chronicler's mistake, resisting to urge to face-palm. And a mass Leaf-Eater vs Fast Biter battle..... She definitely hoped everyone's okay; whether that 'everyone' be the GV residents, the GOF members, and the sharptooth trio she loved, especially Thud.

She most definitely was eager to hear the rest.

Pangaea turned to Guido. “Guido, I think you could describe the fight better than me.”

“Oh, sure!” Guido said. “Well, uh, I was riding on Mr. Threehorn’s head, so I got a pretty good view of things…until he threw me off by mistake when he knocked a fast biter away. I saw one of the humans knock Thud down, but he got right back up and bit him on the arm. That…that made Anna pretty mad; she charged into Thud and knocked him over, then she picked him up, and threw him back down again. I tell ya, you don’t wanna get on her bad side! Oh, yeah; then the human Thud had bitten turned into a fast biter for some reason. It looked like he was in a lot of pain, too.”

“Whoa, I didn’t know about that,” Pangaea said.

“Let’s see…what else?” Guido muttered. “Oh, I saw Littlefoot, Petrie, Cera, Ducky, Spike, and a couple others up on a cliff throwing rocks at the fast biters. Chronicler was with Ruby fighting the fast biters off with a long stick, and eventually they climbed up the cliff and joined them. Now, uh, it was about then that a bunch of fast biters started attacking Mr. Threehorn at once and I got thrown off, but I think I saw Petrie’s uncle fly in to help right after that. Anyway, I saw Screech running off with Pangaea, and I didn’t want him to get away, so I followed him to see if I could do something to help Pangaea.”

“Right,” Pangaea said. “Now, uh…I guess Claw had the same idea as Guido, because he went after Screech, too. He had a spear or something with him that he tried to use to fight Screech, but Screech got ahold of it and threw it away. So then he tried attacking him with his teeth and claws. Then Chomper showed up and started biting Screech, too.”

“Oh, and that’s when I glided in and landed on Screech’s head,” Guido added earnestly. “I covered his eyes with my wings and started pecking him in the head.”

“Yeah, Guido showed a lot of guts there,” Pangaea said, smiling. “Unfortunately, I think Screech must have called for help, because a couple other fast biters came over and fought Claw off.” A wave of concern suddenly washed over Pangaea as he realized that he didn’t know what had happened to Claw after the battle. “Oh, gee, I hope he’s okay. The last I saw of him, he was running off with one of the fast biters chasing him.” But Pangaea knew that there was nothing he could do about it now, so he decided to just finish the story.

“Uh, anyway, then Screech managed to dislodge Chomper, and rammed his head into a rock wall that took out Guido.”

“Yeah, that hurt,” Guido said, wincing at the memory.

“But then Longtailóthis bright blue flyer with a really long tailóflies in and latches onto Screech’s face. Screech tries to get rid of him the same way he did Guido, but Longtail lets go at the last moment and trips him, and Screech ends up knocking himself out instead. So…basically, that’s how I got free.”

“Oh, and the spikefrill told me that Chronicler and the others on the cliff pushed down a huge boulder that hit Red Claw in the leg,” Guido added. “So that’s how they took care of him.”

“They did, huh?” Pangaea said. “Must not have been an especially severe injury, ëcause we saw him run off a little while afterwards. He looked like he’d gone insane.”

Pangaea inhaled deeply and loosed a heavy, shuddering sigh. “Now, this is when I realize just how bad things were. It turns out that several of the valley dinosaurs who came on the rescue mission got killed in the fight. I…don’t know for sure if any of the GOF members died, but I think at least most of them were okay. Same with the gang and…y’know, all the other valley dinosaurs we know. But still…”óHe took another shivering breathó“…I felt like it was all my fault, because I’m the one who managed to get myself caught by the sharpteeth. If I hadn’t been out there alone up by the Great Wall, they might not have caught me, and no one would have died. I’ve never felt so guilty in my life.”

Doing his best to compose himself, Pangaea wrapped up the story. “Well, the good news is, Guido was okayóhe almost killed me with the hug he gave me after he got upóand so was Amy; she’d changed her mind about leaving the valley, and showed up at some point during the fight. A spikefrill kindly gave us a ride back here; we fell asleep on the way, and Guido tells me she made this leaf bed for us. He talked to her this morning before I woke up. And, uhh…that about brings us to the point where you showed up.”

As Nana heard the rest of the conversation unfold, she was suprised to know what events had ensued here. The fight, the GOF member's here, everything.

She didn't feel dignified to listen to the coversation anymore, so she started to walk away, but as she did, a twig was in her way and she stepped on it. It snapped with a great crack, she would be suprised if anyone didn't hear it. She closed her eyes and tensed up, waiting for the two dinosaurs she was eaves-dropping to discover her.

Hearing about the human getting bitten, she winced heavily as she imagined it. Poor dude.... Though it did confuse her on how he turned into a dinosaur afterwards. A were-raptor thing goin' on.

Her expression for concern only deepened at the description of the fight. She might like violence on TV and stuff, but this is now real-life and.....and she didn't like it at all. The deaths of the GV dinosaurs and possibly GOF members and sharpteeth as well maybe......it was almost too much for her to comprehend. And sensing Pangaea's sadness, even after the story's wrapped up, she had the tremendous urge to make him feel better, which she did in the gentlest voice she could manage.

"Hey, come on, buddy. You couldn't predict what was going to happen, and it's not like you wanted Screech and Thud to catch you. It was beyond your control and none of it was your fault." She was going to continue her reassurances when she heard the loud snap. Looking in that direction, she stood up for a better vantage point to see a young adolescent Longneck.

"Spy! I see spy!" she exclaimed playfully before smiling. "Hi there. Who be you?"
