The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"Halo and Youri are getting rooms for us, since we're staying here longer than expected.  So they're just letting us talk more."  Shiana stopped with Selene.  "Cloaks and coats, like we have," she answered.

"Oh... uhh. Hmm. That would be rather... odd." Selene told Shiana. "I know that male dracons wear those things, at least the cloaks, and I've seen them wear what you might call a coat, but... I've never worn a shirt or cloak, much less a coat. I've never heard of any female Dracon who ever has. It would be like a male wearing a skirt in your culture, from what I've heard."

The Strutho returned to the shop and handed the stolen ring to an assistant so it could be properly cleaned.

"Cassia, are you ready for the hot springs?" Torvin asked. He was dressed in a light canvas shirt and pants.

"You bet I am!" She replied. She had been waiting a long time for something like this. Her own clothing was fairly light, even though she was still wearing the mithril chain over some light clothes at the moment. "Just lead the way, Torvin."

Torvin headed out of his smithy/house.

The dirt path was quite busy and filled with the inhabitants of the his hamlet.

The air was cool and crisp with the scent of flowers.

"Wow. It's amazing how many flowers there are in the desert. A little bit of water is all it takes to make them grow." Cassia walked down the path strewn with the flora of the arid lands. "Did you plant these yourself, Torvin, or did they just grow here?"

The coolness of the area near the springs was in stark contrast to the heat of the forge. It was a nice change of pace. How Torvin ever found such a place as this was beyond Cassia. It was an amazing place to live.

"Really," Shiana replied.  "So, do I look unusual with my cloak?"  She was wearing a tan cloak and hood, one she wore when she and Youri arrived to find Halo.

----------

Halo & Youri neared the inn where they had stayed at before.  They plan on buying two rooms, and if necessary, a place for Storm Paw.

Selene thought about it for a moment. "No, I don't think you look odd in it, but I know I would. Your kind doesn't have the same... body type as mine. We Dracons have claws, scales, horns, and a snout, not to mention we can't possibly fit out feet into those things you have on" Selene briefly lifted up her three-toed foot to show what she meant.

"I don't think you look unusual in a cloak because it fits your kind. It would not look good on a female of my species. Now the fully-grown males of my race, they dress much like humans. The traditional clothing of the dracons was very light, covering just enough for our modesty. When we became civilized, the adult males adopted heavier, "civilized" clothing, leaving traditional garb for the females, children, and for home."

Torvin shook his head. "They are native here," he replied.

The two eventually made their way to a rocky grotto with a steaming pool at the base of a small creek at the left that led to the pool. The grey rocks were worn smooth by thousands of feet and the action of water.

"Well here we are," Torvin said.

Cassia looked at the pool of warm water. It was fitting that the water should be warm in the desert, yet it looked out of place, such an oasis... one expected the pools of water to be cool and fresh, yet this one was clearly quite hot. Still, the prospect of relaxing in the warm water was enticing to her.

The female equine reached over and removed the chain armor from her chest, and began to remove the rest of her garments in preparation for bathing in the pool. "So, Torvin, is there anything we should know about this place? Anything special about these waters?"

Before Torvin could answer, Cassia removed the sleeveless shirt she wore under her armor, revealing her... well-formed features.

Halo & Youri re-entered the inn to rent some rooms for a few more nights...

----------

"Well, when it gets cold there, you'll probably have to consider having something warm so you don't freeze to death," Shiana replied, and started walking again towards the inn, with Storm Paw watching the rear.

"Maybe I will, but maybe I'll just use some magic to keep myself warm. I don't like the though of wearing so much cloth. It seems so... confining" Selene didn't understand certain things about humans, but decided to move on to another subject. "At any rate, shall we join Halo and Youri? I am eager to get to know them better, if we are going to be team mates."

"Also... do you know if there will be any Dracons where we are going?" Selene added quickly, not wanting to be so far from her kind for a long time if she could help it.

Torvin shrugged. He took off his canvas shirt, revealing his chestnut fur and heavy muscles underneath as he slid into the hot spring.

"There's nothing special about these springs," Torvin replied. "Though the Strutho says that this water is used in certain metallurgical processes," he added.

Cassia left her clothes at the side of the pool as she entered the water, closing her eyes in pleasure as she felt the warmth soothe her muscles.

"Ahhh... that's better. I haven't felt anything this good in ages." As she opened her eyes, she saw Torvin's heavily muscled chest. While she was indeed attracted by this, the female equine had reason to believe that Torvin would be more interested to see her own... chest. It was bare for him to see. Moving over to Torvin in the pool, she heard him say something about metallurgical processes.

"Is that all you ever talk about, Torv? "Metallurgical this" and "smithing that"? You should relax a bit. It's been a long, long time since I've seen another of my kind, let alone a male. Am I the first female equine you've seen this year?" Cassia was facing Torvin, making eye contact with him, keeping her torso above water level for the time being.

Torvin sheepishly grinned. "I'm sorry but after talking to my Strutho for so long, that's all I can think about," he said.

Almost involuntarily, he draped an arm over Cassia's shoulders.

Cassia returned the gesture, and without thinking, gave him a hug, pressing her chest to his. The contrast between his muscles and her "large" chest was evident. After a few moments of this rather awkward moment, Cassia broke the hug, feeling a bit embarrassed but exhilarated all the same. She tried to change the subject.

"Uh... so Torvin, would you mind rubbing my back? I've been rather tense lately, and now's a good a time as any to relax." Cassia usually got a massage after stressful missions in Minbenthac, and in any given week, she tried to get at least one rubdown. It kept her muscles relaxed and loose, which was important for a fighter whose combat techniques depended on flexibility. Of course, that was just a side benefit as far as she was concerned; she loved how a massage felt more than anything else it did for her.

Torvin was shocked. "Erm, sure," he replied.

"Great. I've got some tension in my upper back in a spot that I can never reach." Cassia was also a bit embarrassed. She was not shocked, but saw that Torvin was. It was hard to tell, but she was blushing a bit through her fur. Still, the two equines, while not yet fully comfortable around each other, were still perfectly okay with bathing together. Cassia saw that Torvin had strong hands, and now she would get a chance to feel them on her sore back.

Cassia turned around and positioned herself in front of Torvin, her back facing him, positioned close enough for him to easily reach her.

As the trio started walking again, Shiana answered more of Selene's questions.  "We see more dragons and other dragonfolk than we do Dracons in Willowrock.  One dragon I know of personally is one of the heads of the Knights of the Cloak.  He's the sorcerer we were talking about earlier."

"You've met a dragon? Wow. I know this might seem odd, given what my race is and where I live, but... I've never spoken to a dragon, much less spoken to one." Selene was not uncommon in this regard. Despite living a land with many dragons, it was rare that a dracon know one personally. Her kind were small and bipedal. Dragons were large and walked on four legs. The giant reptiles regarded the dracons as inferiors, although they had respect for the draconic race than they did for mammalian ones, such as humans or elves.
